Shop vacs are designed to be used on wet carpet to remove moisture, wet messes, and water. Use the carpet vac extractor attachment tool to remove the dirty water.
Shop-Vac® brand hoses will measure roughly: 1.25″, 1.5″ or 2.5″. 1.25″ accessories fit vacs with a 1.25″ hose diameter. The hose opening is roughly the size of a golf ball.
Shop-Vac, which manufactures wet/dry residential, commercial and industrial vacuum cleaners, is part of GreatStar Tools USA Inc. that is a subsidiary of Hangzhous GreatStar Industrial Co. headquartered in Hangzhous, China.
Shop vacuum, also called shop vac, is an advanced vacuum cleaner that is not only able to pick up solid waste like the regular vacuum cleaner but can also be used to suck up liquid content. Apart from drying off wet surfaces, shop vacuums can be used to drain small bodies of water like pools and aquariums.
Shop vacs come with a more powerful motor than home vacuums because they need to suck up big and heavy objects. They have powerful lifting and suction capabilities. They can remove both liquid and dust particles with ease. Home vacs are less powerful as they only suck small particles.
Hose diameters range from 3/8-inch, 1/2-inch to 3/4-inch. In the United States, most standard garden hoses are 5/8-inch in diameter. The bigger the diameter, the more water is delivered.
Power. Most people should only require a 3.5 to 5 peak horsepower motor for their wet/dry vac. If it can suction up water and sawdust, you`re probably good to go.
How many watts does a Vacuum Cleaner use? The average Vacuum Cleaner uses 818 watts. Your devices wattage may be different depending on the brand, size, or other factors.
The suction on a shop vac relies on the strength of its motor. The strongest shop vacs have roughly 5-6.5 peak horsepower. Factoring in some other features, like the quality of the air filters and the size of the tank, sets these vacs apart from each other.
A: Shop vac filters can last for 8 to 10 uses, but you have to replace them when they start deforming. You should replace the shop vac filter whenever you notice any wear, rips, or tears from the debris. Dust clogging or staining is also a sign that your shop vac filter needs to be washed or replaced.
A: you can use 1.5 hp 1 gallon shop vac with a 1000 watt inverter, would work just fine.
Without the bag the fine dust will go through the filter and blow back into your room. Vac with a HEPA cartridge filter: You do not need a collection bag. Vac with a foam sleeve: Some of our smaller vacs come with a foam sleeve and a collection bag. For these vacs, you must use the collection bag with the foam sleeve.
The bottom line is that Shop-Vac units shouldn`t be utilized without a filter. The vacuum will work without one, but it might not work better. Numerous other consequences might occur. You may create an even bigger mess than the one you needed to clean.
Wet dental vacuums (also referred to as wet-ring vacuum pumps) use water to create vacuum. Dry dental vacuums create that vacuum pressure by pumping dry air, using turbines or rotary vanes to create suction power.
To get excellent suction power, have a higher HP. If you have already vacuuming stuff, any 1-2 hp vac will do for removing dirt, san, and all types of debris. You are recommended to go for 4-5 hp.
Handle Kitchen Messes with Your Shop-Vac Wet/Dry Vac. Between coffee grinds, dirt, spilled liquids, and dropped foods, kitchen floors and surfaces require frequent cleaning. Fortunately, your wet/dry vac can handle all those everyday messes.
You might be looking for a vacuum to clear out the dust and debris of your unfinished basement. Or maybe you`re just looking to deep clean your hallway carpet. Whatever the task, Shop-Vac has the tools to meet your need.
Smaller diameter vacuum hoses are often more navigable and flexible, not to mention lighter, and for specific applications, there are performance benefits. Larger diameter hoses can pick up more significant debris, and with less possibility of clogging.
So if you want to pick up slightly larger debris and can give up a little on the effective suction area side, going to a smaller diameter hose makes sense. On the other hand, if you`re collecting airborne particles like concrete dust, a larger hose that pulls in more air from a larger area makes more sense.
This is 3.5 x 7.5 sized hose, fairly universal and found on many different BMW applications.
By taking a tape, you can measure the fittings` internal diameter as well as external diameter. The inside diameter is for female threads and the outside diameter is for male threads. What you will have to do is lay the tape measure on the connector`s mouth and measure it from the inside top to the bottom.
Standard 8mm internal diameter, 12.5mm outer diameter.
The most common garden hose diameters are ¾ inch, five-eighths inch and half inch. These measurements are based on the inside diameter of the hose, not the outside. The bigger the diameter, the more water the hose will carry. A hose width of five-eighths inch is generally most useful.

.the filter must be dried to reduce the
.risk of possible mildew and damage to
.the filter.

Dirt devil vacuum cleaner–trouble vacuuming dirt and pet hair on carpeting –is the problem with the spinning brush which contacts the floor,  not contacting the carpeting??  I thought (when I bought this vacuum) that the aforementioned brush was adjustable to various heights of carpeting.  Sometimes, it seems like nothing is being vacuumed up –unless I have just put a new bag on the vacuum… Do I need or can I replace the spinning brush on the bottom of the vacuum so it kicks up and vacuums
ANSWER : Try replacing the belt. Rubber belts stretch out after about a year.

I purchased a brand new Eureka Pet vacuum, sorry don’t know exact name but it the one that has the self cleaning duster on it. Last night I used the vacuum on my carpet, it was working fine until I accidently sucked up the corner of a scarf that was hanging off a couch. I shut the vacuum off, pulled out the scarf and and resumed vacuuming. Much to my dismay the suction on the vacuum had ceased. Can you tell me if there is a reset button on the vacuum? The vacuum does not appear to be damage
ANSWER : If the motor is running, there should be suction. Possible problems depend on whether it’s a canister or upright and are:
.A clog in the hose, UR or canister. Detach hose. Drop small coin in one end and lift hose causing it to roll out the other. If it does, no clog in hose. Drop same coin into hose opening on power head. If it rolls out, no clog in PN.
.Broken fan blades, UR. Needs to be taken to shop for repair/replacement.
.
.A reset button is for use if the motor isn’t running, so won’t have anything to do with the suction.

Shop Vac Can I **** water with a 4.5 12 gallon Shop Vac into the main cannister or is there another connection? DO you use the same one for both wet and dry??
ANSWER : You **** up water the same way as dirt. It’s designed this way, hence the name wet/dry. Just be sure not to get the water in the very top of the unit where the motor sucks the air for cooling ventilation, if water gets in there it can burn up the motor. A little hard way, personal experience, speaking there.
