Use the upholstery attachment on mattresses and fabric surfaces. Work in a horizontal or vertical motion from top to bottom. Use the crevice tool in the tight corners and seams. Use the dust brush on leather furniture to reduce any risk of scratching.

32mm is the most common size used for vacuum cleaners, ducted vacuum cleaners and backpack vacuum cleaners. However some less common sizes are 35mm, 36mm or 38mm. The best way to find out what size will fit your vacuum cleaner is to measure the INTERNAL diameter of one of your old vacuum cleaner tools.
Corner Cleaner

The narrow, angled crevice tool should be the go-to vacuum accessory for cleaning areas that the vacuum is too bulky to reach. Slide it along baseboards, between vents, and in other tight corners to pick up dust and debris. You can also use this attachment to clean under couch cushions.

A: To determine what accessories fit your vac, you need to determine the diameter of your hose. To do this, measure the opening of the accessory end of the hose. Shop-Vac® brand hoses will measure roughly: 1.25″, 1.5″ or 2.5″.
Still, it will do a great job with your carpets and sofas. Hoover CleanSlate Pet carpet and upholstery cleaner – clean large surfaces at once and will do a fantastic job removing pet hair and keeping your sofa clean.
You can store your handheld vacuum and its accessories inside your shoe rack, in the coat closet, or on the rack where you store other cleaning equipment. You can also store it under the sink as long as the space is dry. You can even hang it on your tool rack in the garage.
Most professional upholstery cleaning services use a process called hot water extraction. Their machine injects hot water and cleaning solution into the fibers of your upholstery to dislodge particles hiding there. Then it all gets sucked up with a powerful vacuum.
If you notice that your Hoover shampooer or carpet cleaner doesn`t spray water or the brush roll doesn`t spin, then typically you need to replace your turbine assembly.
In the bottom of your carpet cleaner machine, add vinegar, peroxide, and dish soap. Fill the container the rest of the way to the fill line with warm water and use the machine to clean up dirt, odor, and spills the same way you would use a commercial carpet shampoo.
The key to cleaning your carpet efficiently is to work in straight, consistent lines. Squeeze the trigger on your carpet cleaner to release the water, and push forward a few feet. Then release the trigger, and pull back over the same line.
Type. Most of the time, upholstery cleaners are small, handheld appliances designed with the purpose of spot treating stains on upholstered furniture, carpets, and rugs.
This carpet cleaner is meant to serve as the second part of the upholstery cleaning process. First, you vacuum up pet hair and loose dirt, then you use the Hoover SmartWash Advanced Pet Automatic Carpet Cleaner to deep clean and pull any remaining dirt off the upholstery fibers.
You can use any brand in this machine. I have used bissle, hoover, even a Walmart pet one. They all work great.
Hoover is another brand that does a great (and safe) job of cleaning both your tile and carpet. Just keep in mind that this is not your typical tile cleaner. It has brushes that will not scratch your tile. The water and cleaning solution located under the cleaner is tough enough to get any stain out of your tile floor.
You will want to follow the machine directions. So if it has a fill line or formula cup you would use that. Otherwise we suggest using 6 oz of carpet shampoo to a gallon of water. How much product you need depends on how much liquid the machine disperses, how many times the carpet needs to be cleaned, etc.
Upholstery cleaning generally refers to the cleaning of fabric furniture, while steam cleaning can refer to the cleaning of many different surfaces such as curtains as well. Upholstery cleaning typically uses a detergent or solvent to clean the surface, while steam cleaning uses heat and water to clean the surface.
Steam cleaning is one of the best ways to clean upholstery because the warm moisture lifts stains without releasing too much moisture into the fabric and padding. The main elements of steam cleaning that make it so effective are: Moisture.
Vacuum cleaner tube diameter is measured internally. The most common size is 32mm internal diameter (approximately 38mm to 39mm external diameter). Other less popular vacuum cleaner hose sizes are 27mm, 35mm, 36mm, 38mm, 40mm, 51mm, and come in various colors. Ducted vacuums utilize 32mm vacuum cleaner hose.
Central Vacuum are universal, such as the installation and wall inlet valves, making Central Vac Int. central vacuum repairs easy. Therefore, all hoses*, kits and accessories sold here are compatible with Central Vac Int.
Approximately 95% of the vacuum cleaners have a diameter 32 of 35 mm.

My brand new Hoover upright vacuum cleaner, model
Hoover Tempo Widepath U5140-900 delivers no suction from the hose attachment. I have attached it exactly as illustrated in the manual.

Any help is much appreciated!

R. Gardner

ANSWER : Sometimes there is a physical switch to move the air ducts that connect to the suction motor. I’m not sure about your model, but here’s what I would do. First, read the manual and instructions thoroughly, to see if there’s some switch to activate the hose attachment. If that didn’t work, I would take it in to a Vacuum Repair Shop and just let them take a look at it. If it’s some switch, they will know and most likely show you without charge. If nothing seems to work, get an exchange on the unit, since it could be defective in some respect. Good luck to you, and hope this helps.

Dirt devil vacuum cleaner–trouble vacuuming dirt and pet hair on carpeting –is the problem with the spinning brush which contacts the floor,  not contacting the carpeting??  I thought (when I bought this vacuum) that the aforementioned brush was adjustable to various heights of carpeting.  Sometimes, it seems like nothing is being vacuumed up –unless I have just put a new bag on the vacuum… Do I need or can I replace the spinning brush on the bottom of the vacuum so it kicks up and vacuums
ANSWER : Try replacing the belt. Rubber belts stretch out after about a year.

Hoover steam vac v2, brushes won't turn. – Hoover F7425-900 SteamVac V2 Widepath Upright Vacuum
ANSWER : Hello,

The Hoover SteamVac’s are notorious for .this exact problem. There are several things that can be causing this .probelm.

First, what you’ll need to do is take the brush block .out of the machine. To do this there are 4 clips on the brush block. You. will need to turn the machine upside down, and pull down on the brush .block to where it won’t pull out any farther. There are 4 clips, 2 on .top, and 2 on the rear of the brushes. (See picture I have circled one .of the clips in red). Simply press these .clips at the same time, and pull the brush block out of the machine. I’d. say that 60% of the time that I see this problem, the main issue is .that the brushes just need to be cleaned. If you have pets in the home, a. lot of the time the pet hair will just be lodged inside the brushes, .will prevent them from spinning. Use a pressurized water hose with spray. nozzle is ideal) and spray each brush with water to dislodge any pet .hair. You should be able to get these brushes spinning when you spray .them. Spray each brush until the brushes are spinning pretty fast. .Re-insert the brushes into the machine, and test to see if the cleaning .has fixed your problem. If the cleaning still fails to fix the problem, .take the brushes back out of the machine.

One you have the .brushes out of the machine, the first thing you should look at the brush. stem that goes into the turbine inside the machine. This is the green .pole pictured in middle of the brush block. Examine this pole to .determine if the top of it has broken off. It should exactly how the picture shows it. .Make sure that the plastic has not broken.

If the pole has .broken, you will simply need to replace the brush block. If the pole is .not damaged, the next thing to try is to turn the machine on while you .have the brushes out. Look inside the machine, where the pole goes into .the turbine (also important, make sure the switch for the brushes is .turned to “Rotating Brush Speed Hi), this female receptacle should spin .when the machine is turned on. It is important the try this when the .foot pedal is released, and the handle down, and not in the upright .position, as there is an internal switch that shuts the brushes off when. the machine is in the upright position.

If you notice that the .female receptacle where the brush pole is inserted is spinning, then .your turbine is fine. If this part is not spinning, then most likely you. will need to replace your turbine.

I hope this helps you with .your problem. If not, please feel free to request a repair clarification. and I’d be happy to walk you through the diagnosing. I also can provide. you with a blown up parts schematic to your machine, please just get .the model number off the back of the machine and provide, and provide me. with the full model number. I would be happy to provide any technical support .you need, just request a clarification on the repair.

I purchased a brand new Eureka Pet vacuum, sorry don’t know exact name but it the one that has the self cleaning duster on it. Last night I used the vacuum on my carpet, it was working fine until I accidently sucked up the corner of a scarf that was hanging off a couch. I shut the vacuum off, pulled out the scarf and and resumed vacuuming. Much to my dismay the suction on the vacuum had ceased. Can you tell me if there is a reset button on the vacuum? The vacuum does not appear to be damage
ANSWER : If the motor is running, there should be suction. Possible problems depend on whether it’s a canister or upright and are:
.A clog in the hose, UR or canister. Detach hose. Drop small coin in one end and lift hose causing it to roll out the other. If it does, no clog in hose. Drop same coin into hose opening on power head. If it rolls out, no clog in PN.
.Broken fan blades, UR. Needs to be taken to shop for repair/replacement.
.
.A reset button is for use if the motor isn’t running, so won’t have anything to do with the suction.

ANSWER : Make sure to extend the wand straight up and completely out of the handle and watch that you don’t kink the hose.
