How does carpet cleaning work? A BISSELL Carpet Cleaning machine forces a warm cleaning mixture deep into your carpet to blast out dirt and grime as built-in brushes help root out deeply embedded dirt. At the same time, powerful suction immediately pulls out the dirt and liquid.
No, it is not recommended to be used as a regular vacuum.
On the average, it will take approximately 2-4 hours for carpet and upholstery to dry after being carpet cleaned. To expedite the drying process, you will want to use a fan and increase your air circulation.
But you might be a little disappointed if you expect this tool to heat up its own water. Despite its name being the Bissell ProHeat, this carpet cleaner doesn`t actually heat up the water it uses to clean your floors.
The ProHeat® Carpet Cleaner has a built-in heater to heat tap water up to 25 degrees hotter for optimum cleaning.
Pre-Vacuuming:
Before you begin using your Bissell Carpet Cleaner, it`s important to make sure that the surface of your carpets is free from dirt and debris. To do this, use a regular vacuum cleaner to remove any loose particles or hair before beginning your cleaning session.
A: Yes it can be used as a vacuum without water.
Although some carpet steamers and cleaners have a suction mechanism to remove the cleaning fluid and water from your carpet after cleaning the area, you should only use them for steaming or cleaning a carpet and never use them like a vacuum cleaner.
Your BISSELL Steam Mop has been designed to be used with tap water although to prolong its life the use of demineralised water is strongly recommended.
A vacuum cleaner is designed for dry debris and a carpet cleaner is for stains. For example, a carpet cleaner is better suited for a pet stain, but a vacuum should be used to tackle their loose fur. In instances where you need to clean a mixed medium like mud, it`s safer to use a carpet cleaner.
Can you just vacuum with the Bissell CrossWave cordless Max? You can absolutely use the bissell crosswave as just a vacuum. It works well to clean messes on hard or soft surfaces by vacuuming and mopping, but it can be used as just a vacuum.
While the appliances function differently, the point is you don`t have to manage them independently and of course purchase both. Just think of the vacuum cleaner as a regular appliance that helps you keep your rugs & carpets look sharp and beautiful. And carpet cleaners are special units that are utilized rarely.
Most cleaning methods simply can`t remove all the old hair, dust mites, dirt, soapy residues and chemicals. After the cleaning crew leaves, the gunk remaining in your carpeting acts like a magnet for a whole new layer of grime.
Furniture can only be put back on wet carpet if it has something underneath it. Wet carpet could blemish from wood stains or rust if furniture is set directly on it. Items with legs can be put on small pieces of plastic, and the items without legs have to be kept off the carpet with small wood or styrofoam blocks.
Fill up with warm water.
That`s why we recommend filling up your carpet cleaner`s tank with warm water. Some BISSELL Carpet Cleaners also use HeatWave technology to keep the water hot throughout the cleaning process.
ProHeat® Using the marks on the inside of the formula cap, add 7 oz of BISSELL 2X formula to tank. Add water to the tank until you reach the original formula fill line.
Step 5:
Rinse Your Carpets (Optional) An optional step that we recommend if you have time is to go back over the cleaned carpet again with only hot tap water in the tank (no formula this time). This will remove any leftover formula and give your carpets an extra clean.
If you don`t vacuum your carpet, the dirt will break down carpet fibers and create a breeding ground for dust mites and bacteria. In addition, your home will begin to smell musty from the dirt, mites, and other organisms settling into the fibers.
Prepping Your Vacuum –
The first step before starting to vacuum should always be to check the filters and recovery bag. If the bag is anywhere near full, it should be changed before starting your job. A typical vacuum with a bag that is over 50% full can lose up to 80% of its vacuuming performance.
For maximum cleaning results, BISSELL does not recommend using cleaning products other than BISSELL specified in the Big Green. BISSELL formulas are specially formulated with more “active” ingredients, contain no dyes and are designed for use in the BISSELL Big Green.
Mix 1 teaspoon of a liquid dishwashing detergent into 1 cup of lukewarm water and put into a spray bottle. Spray the area with the solution. (NOTE: Do not use laundry detergent or automatic dishwasher detergent, as both contain chemicals that could damage your carpet.)
Carpet cleaners provide a deep clean, focusing on removing tough stains and dirt from carpets. Wet-dry vacuums are versatile, tackling wet and dry messes on various surfaces, including carpets and hard floors.
A steam cleaner uses actual steam to clean various types of surfaces, and this steam can damage carpet fibers and remove the protection. A carpet cleaner is designed to force a mixture of hot water and cleaning solution into the carpet to clean deep down.
Vacuums are great at picking up surface dirt on carpets & upholstery along with the loose, dry, debris that floats in between carpet fibres.
