How to Identify and Fix Common Vacuum Problems ?

Check your hose for any cracks or holes that can cause loss of suction. You may also have a clog in the lower hose. Pull down and at an angle to disconnect. A clog in the main hose could also be the problem.
Unplug and check to see if your clean tank is seated properly. Also, remove the dirty water tank and make sure there are no clogs in the hose below it. Remove the filter and clean both the screen and filter of any build up or debris and empty the tank before replacing it.
Over time and extended use, a very fine layer of particles will start to line the inside of a vacuum bag, remaining in place even after the bag is emptied. This means that the bag will lose the proper airflow required to let the incoming air escape. As the airflow is restricted, the suction dies down too.
Locate the brush reset button on the lower back right of the vacuum. Press the button to reset the brushroll To ensure the brush has been reset, plug the vacuum back into the electrical outlet.
First, check to make sure the clean tank has water and/or the water & formula mixture in the tank. If your tank is empty, this could be the reason your machine is not spraying. You will need to fill your clean tank again. Reseat the tank and ensure it sits snug on the machine.

I purchased a brand new Eureka Pet vacuum, sorry don’t know exact name but it the one that has the self cleaning duster on it. Last night I used the vacuum on my carpet, it was working fine until I accidently sucked up the corner of a scarf that was hanging off a couch. I shut the vacuum off, pulled out the scarf and and resumed vacuuming. Much to my dismay the suction on the vacuum had ceased. Can you tell me if there is a reset button on the vacuum? The vacuum does not appear to be damage
ANSWER : If the motor is running, there should be suction. Possible problems depend on whether it’s a canister or upright and are:
.A clog in the hose, UR or canister. Detach hose. Drop small coin in one end and lift hose causing it to roll out the other. If it does, no clog in hose. Drop same coin into hose opening on power head. If it rolls out, no clog in PN.
.Broken fan blades, UR. Needs to be taken to shop for repair/replacement.
.
.A reset button is for use if the motor isn’t running, so won’t have anything to do with the suction.

Dirt devil vacuum cleaner–trouble vacuuming dirt and pet hair on carpeting –is the problem with the spinning brush which contacts the floor,  not contacting the carpeting??  I thought (when I bought this vacuum) that the aforementioned brush was adjustable to various heights of carpeting.  Sometimes, it seems like nothing is being vacuumed up –unless I have just put a new bag on the vacuum… Do I need or can I replace the spinning brush on the bottom of the vacuum so it kicks up and vacuums
ANSWER : Try replacing the belt. Rubber belts stretch out after about a year.

Troubleshoot Bissell Lift-Off Revolution Pet Vacuum Cleaner
ANSWER : Probably a hose clog. Check the hose on the back of the cannister. Most likely clogged where it attaches to allow debris into the cannister. If cannister is not filling up, that’s a sure sign. To remove from top of back of cannister, just turn the ring on the end of the hose to release. Take it outside and push a long thin object through it to force out the clogged hair or debris. The motor is designed to shut off the vacuum cleaner for 30 minutes when this happens to avoid burning up your motor.

Lift-Off Pet Hair vacuum doesn’t lift off pet hair!
ANSWER : Very light “stuff” like dog hair will get stuck to the filter since that is where the suction goes. it’s primary purpose was to keep dust out of the motor. This is a problem with many “bagless” cleaners. A bagged cleaner keeps all dirt and hair away from filters by utilizing the bag as primary filter. If you have alot of dog hair then this may have been the incorrect choice of a vac. all you can do is brush off the filter each time you use the vac. it will still pick up o.k. even when there is hair on the filter unless you leave it on day after day.
