Bissell 1699 ProHeat Clear View Upright Steam Vacuum\015 My bissell proheat was not dispensing shampoo and the water was only coming out of one side. I found a clogged spray hose. I’m not sure about the dispensing of shampoo. I just how to get the thing back together, to use the water only option..I have tried to reassemble the unit. I’m unable to get the cover to sit flatly on the unit to screw it back down. I think the hang up has something to do with the smart mix and piston.\015

I have a bissell 1698 powersteamer. i have already cleaned heater and completely cleaned all parts , checked the mix piston, checked belt. it will not shoot water or mix. the motor runs, it will **** water and the brush turns. is it the pump and does the pump just shoot the soap?
ANSWER : Pump is probably bad. When you put the lid back down, did you put the piston on the bottom of the smart mix knob? Also the smart mix knob should be in the water only selection when the top is pushed all of the way down. Also sometimes the flow indictor cap can give you a problem with it leaking air.

ANSWER : I’ve owned my Bissell for over 5 years now & LOVE it! Even after vacuuming It pulls up tons of dog hair I never realized was there! I am having a similar problem, but I caused it myself & think maybe you may have the same problem, cross your fingers & hope you do cuz the fix is CHEAP! (Shipping will cost more than the part!
.When I replaced my belts, instead of following the manual instructions, I did what I thought made sense and removed the roller from the bottom. In doing so, I snapped a small red plastic roller arm pin/clamp. I glued it back together & replaced it & it worked fine for about 10 minutes then the roller stopped, sure enough the glue didn’t hold. I’m just trying to find the parts. It’s part # 555-9113, that fits ALL Pro Heat models. I have tried finding them at all the hardware stores & Vaccum shops, but no one carries them. I saw them on a few web sites priced from $1.99 to $3. Now I just have to find the site again!
.I don’t know if this will help you, but it might be just what you need, NOT the pump like you think.
.All the piece does is puts enough tension on the roller and keeps it in place and holds the lower belt in place. If the roller slips it won’t turn even with a good belt!
