Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced Vacuum Technicians :
A dishwasher door spring replacement costs from $50 to $150. Door springs can fail due to repetitive operation, or they can corrode with age. If a dishwasher door doesn`t open and close gently but falls to the floor quickly, the door spring is most likely to blame.
If the dishwasher door won`t close or latch, it might be because the door spring tension is improperly set. This means that the tension on the door springs isn`t strong enough to keep the door closed. You can try fixing this problem by adjusting the tension on the springs for a tighter fitting door.

The last time I sewed with my Necchi the tension was fine. Today when I threaded my needle, the thread felt tight in the upper tension dial. I tried re-threading the machine several times, but it didn’t help. Now the parts of the tension dial are all loose and wobbbly and I have no upper tension. Doesn’t matter what the dial is set on. The tension dial appears to be broken, but I don’t know how that could have happend since I store it in a case.
ANSWER : I found this thread (no pun intended):

Bosch canister vac BSG81313. Took cover off to remove lots of hair, dirt etc from running without bag in place. Everything went back together OK, but cord reel spring went zip when cover was removed. How do I rewind the spring so there is tension when the cord is pulled out ? Wound cord back onto reel, but reel just clicks ever revolution etc…no tension when cord is pulled out of vac.

ANSWER : The spring inside the hub of the cord wheel has escaped from the locking tab. You must completely dismantle the vacuum to access the cord wheel – take it out, reattach the spring and reassemble the unit. All you need is a phillips screwdriver, a pair of pliers and some patience.

My older Dyson DC14 (the purple one) early model with a clutch on the beater bar belt needs a clutch replacement. The bar has been cleaned and there are no worn or damaged parts so I conclude that the clutch at the motor end of the belt needs to be replaced. I can find the part online but no instructions on how to disassemble the vacuum to get to and replace it. Dysons only advice is to give me the address and phone of the nearest service center. Can you help me?
ANSWER : Have a look at www.dysonmedic.com which has some very useful info on dismantling and repairing Dysons.
.
.Although this site doesnt actually cover the DC14 yet, the DC14 is very similar to the DC07 so as regards dissassembling the machine, and replacing the clutch, my experience is that the DC07 info will enable you to do the job.

Dear Sir or Madam, I own a black 23 x 47 x 7 mm Rowenta lighter. It has a screw on bottom that I cannot remove. What is it hiding ? Is this lighter refillable ? Is there a flint to replace ?. I’ve found on your site the following : “By jbbiii on Apr 06, 2009 Father died and left me a Rowenta lighter purchased in Stutgart in 1952. It has a screw on bottom with spring to replace the flint, but I cannot figure out how to open the bottom to replace the cotton wadding which I can see through the hole
ANSWER : Hello
.The flint should be near the striker.Or the thumb roller, usually below it.
.As old as it is you may not see it beacause its worn down.
.
.Maybe taking it to an antique store or a smoke shop would be more helpfull.
.I know with zippos the cover slides off to the top when you hold the 2 nodules in.Which is how you get to the wick.
.The screw at the bottom which does not come out, may be a flame adjustment screw.
