Euro-Pro Shark Steam Mop – Gray/ Purple Vacuum\015 Hi! I am currently @ my sons’ school and rushing/ unable to review other problems at the moment. I love the Shark steam cleaner…I have nerve injuries in my dominant right arm and semi-paralysis…SO!!! I am unable to exert much pressure on the handle. I find that this piece of equipment works wonders with minimal effort and get compliments on my floors almost every time someone comes to visit.. MY PROBLEM (which may already be posted)…………..I bought a second machine after the first, only 3-4wks. old, broke while I was using it. It suddenly snapped, the handle, just above the spot where it slides down to produce steam…….I BLAMED MYSELF……….well, I bought a new one, and this a.m., took it off the hook in the pantry. It was behind a broom and dustmop……as I took it out, I wasn’t forcing it…BUT…..it suddenly snapped in the exact same spot on the handle……I am so frustrated. I am a single, currently partially disabled mom, trying to get back to work…using this cleaner instead of a mop and bucket both because I love it and to rest and heal my injured upper extremity and neck……….IS there ANYTHING I can do??or do I have to go to Best Buy and spend another almost $100.00 on a third one?? Does anyone know of a sturdier brand I can buy??. $$$ is an issue as I currently have no income……..I actually got a $2.00 lottery ticket and for once was lucky and won $100.00 which immediately paid for my second Shark. Any suggestions if this can be fixed or somehow replaced??? THX for any/all suggestions……..Sam..″No companyies trying to sell products PLEASE!!!”\015

How to Identify and Fix Common Vacuum Problems ?

Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced Vacuum Technicians :

Unwrap the power cord from the handle. Remove the 56.0 mm Phillips head #2 screw located above the water tank cap. Pull the handle to separate it from the body.
Check if the mop is properly plugged into the outlet and turned on. If it is on and still not functioning, try resetting the mop by plugging it into a different outlet. Add water to the tank if it is empty then try selecting the `STEAM` setting once more.
First, check to make sure the unit is plugged in and is in a working outlet. Next, check to make sure there is water in the tank. It is very important to make sure you are ONLY using water to fill the tank. Other solutions may cause breakdown of the gasket and/or other parts of the machine.
To prolong the life of your steam mop, we recommend using distilled water in the tank. Make sure you only add water to the tank – chemicals or cleaning solutions (including vinegar) may damage the steam mop and could be unsafe.
Our Steam Mops are covered by a 12-month guarantee, extendable to a total guarantee period of 2 years subject to registration.
Heating Element. A common cause to your cleaner not producing steam can be a failed heating element. As the heater is used to heat up the water, if that has ruptured or burnt out your steam cleaner will not produce any steam. With the water tank filled and switched on the steamer should sound like a boiling kettle.
We have had some customers who have had their steam cleaners for 5-8 years and are still going strong. For less expensive models like the steam mops or handhelds, you should probably expect more like 3-6 years of consistent use.
Steam mopping over a painted surface is risky, even if the paint layer is sealed. The heat from the steam can cause bubbles beneath the paint, which may then peel. Best to avoid steam mopping on all painted floor surfaces.
If the device isn`t producing steam, please try the following: Check for any debris or blockages in the head and main body. Empty and refill the tank. Check for any limescale/debris in the tank itself and descale if necessary.

The Shark Steam Mop Replacement Pads 2-Pack is the cleaning pad option that works with the Euro-Pro XT3101 mop. These pads easily attach to the mop at the bottom and the pads can be machine washed and used multiple times over. This can help you to save money since they can be reused.

Of all the parts to replace on the Shark Pro Steam Pocket Mop, the heating element is likely the trickiest to replace since it`s at the core of the mop. Nonetheless, this guide will make the process a breeze.
Mop handles without frames are often called telescope or telescopic poles. They can be screwed or pressed into various mop frames and heads to allow full customization and can extend and retract to fit any user`s height.
Breaking in a Mop 1. Fill mop bucket with water (120ºF–140ºF) and correct dilution of cleaning solution 2. Submerge mop in solution and agitate for two to three seconds 3. Thoroughly wring out and rinse 4.
Our testing has found that all steam mops remove stains fairly well, with marginal differences, and are likely slightly better than a regular mop and bucket due to the heat and vapour produced by the steam.
Sticky floors after steam mopping are often the result of residue from cleaning products that had been used on the floor. Using a dirty mop pad also can cause sticky floors.

Vacuum Cleaners

Our confidence in our design and quality control means that your new Shark vacuum cleaner is guaranteed for a total of 5 years*. *12 months plus an extended warranty period of 4 years, subject to registration within 28 days of purchase when purchased from a retailer.

That depends greatly on the vacuum itself and what you`re using it for. A Shark vacuum that spends its days cleaning pet hair and other everyday messes might last as long as a decade. Investing in the best portable steam cleaner can last for a long time as well if they`re well taken care of.
Although it may be tempting to deep clean your hardwood floors with a steam mop, don`t. “Drastic temperature changes and moisture may warp the wood,” says Steve Stocki, manager of marketing and merchandising at Lumber Liquidators. That`s true whether you have solid or engineered wood floors, and for bamboo, too.
Steam cleaning a floor should be your option for all routine maintenance washing. For most people, this means using it once a week, though it might need to be done more frequently in active families or during certain times of the year when more outdoor grime is carried in.
What is covered by this warranty? The original unit and/or non-wearable parts deemed defective, in SharkNinja`s sole discretion, will be repaired or replaced up to five (5) years from the original purchase date.
The vacuum has a safety feature that turns off the vacuum when the vacuum gets to a certain high temperature or overheats. This happens because the vacuum has a motor protective thermostat. If the vacuum turns off due to overheating, the thermostat has to be reset before you can use it again.
Steam cleaners are fantastic to clean porous tiles, smooth tiles and the are the best way to clean grout lines. These surfaces are usually hard to clean because of their crevices and pores, but hot steam flows deep into every nook and cranny to effectively loosen dirt, grime and grease.
The beauty of steam cleaning is that it effectively trades heat for chemicals without sacrificing strength. When used correctly, what a steam cleaner is used for is to kill 99.99% of germs and bacteria. It`s a safe, healthy, eco-friendly, all-natural way to clean your home from top to bottom.

Have Dyson DC 14. When tilt to vacuum, the handle and coiled hose comes away from the unit. The problem started when the little purple ridged curved part on front of vacuum cleaner right below handle came loose and a spring fell out from somewhere–don’t know where. I pushed on the purple ridge part and it snapped back on. Now, can’t get it loose again, don’t know where the spring goes, and handle still comes loose from vacuum.
ANSWER : I’m not positive whether or not this is the wand handle because there are several versions of the DC14. However the device the locks and unlocks the wand in place is pretty similar between all the versions.

The first picture is the wand release catch spring. The second is the wand. The purple piece is the wand release catch. It is held in place at the bottom by two plastic pins. Basically the catch release is pressed over the two pins until they lock in the two holes at the bottom of the catch release. To get it off you need to pry it off and over the plastic pins. The spring simply sets in between the wand shaft and the back side of the catch release. There should be a spot on the back of the catch release to help hold the spring in place. If not you may need to replace the catch release.

Please let me know if you need any clarification on anything or just need further information and I’ll be glad to help.

Hoover on off switch won’t turn off. I have to unplug the vacuum to stop it. I have dismantled the handle and now I can’t get the inditation in the handle to fit over the little silver knob. I saw there was an on/off switch under the handle that is controlled by a piece of the handle.
#1 question for the manufacturer is why don’t they put the switch on the outside instead of having gimicks that turn it on and off… arghhhhhhhh
ANSWER : Don’t know what model you have, but sounds like you will need to replace the switch. As far as your question, you will have to contact the manufacture for an answer. We only provide solutions to your problem and a model number would have helped.

I have a broken handle for kenmore vacum cleaner model 116.33921300(beltless). I ordered and already got a new handle. I’d like to know how I should deassemblel and put togetger old element to a new handle step by step. Could you help me?
ANSWER : First you have to get the headcover off. After that use a butter knife and/or flat head screwdriver and press forward on the four tabs that retain the pedal. Old Handle just prys off, a new one will press on.

The mechanical off/on in the handle is not working with the electrical on/off switch upon removal of the handle you can cut the machine off by hand but after ensuring the the handle is re-placed in the proper position the machine will not turn off so what new handle or is the rocker switch has worn is now to hard for the mechanical switch to operated
ANSWER : Hi there it’s SmartAlec from NelsonVacuums.com.au here. If you are in Australia i can get the parts for you. Hope this helps, regards Alec
