How to Identify and Fix Common Vacuum Problems ?

If the brush roller is obstructed, the machine will shut off and the red „CHECK BRUSH“ light located on top of the power head will flash. The user should turn the switch off, unplug the machine and immediately remove the obstruction.
Brush Shut Off – If an obstruction jams the brush roller, an orange warning light on the power head illuminates and the brush roller stops spinning. This feature prevents the belts from breaking and protects the motor and car- pet from damage.
You`ve changed your bag as the light told you to, and when you switch the machine on the red light is still illuminated. If that red light stays on for more than a few moments, the machine will switch itself off. It is designed to do this – that is a safety feature to protect the motor that is built into the machine.
The amber light located on top of the power head will illuminate if the height setting is too high or if the brush roller is worn.
When a computer goes to sleep mode, the power LED may change to a blinking or solid orange light. If you`re using a laptop, a solid or flashing orange light often indicates the battery is charging.
If you are lucky enough to own a SEBO vacuum, you are guaranteed a life span of at least 15 years thanks to the hard work of German engineers. Nonetheless, learning some basic maintenance tips and tricks wouldn`t hurt the longevity of your vacuum. In fact, it may lengthen the total life expectancy upwards of 20 years!
SEBO vacuum filters should be changed after every 10 to 20 bags, depending upon use time & the type of debris material collected by the vacuum. However please trust your visual inspection, if you see that a filter is excessively dirty or the bags appears to be quite full, do not hesitate to change it.
The theory is that red light wavelengths stimulate the production of melatonin. Melatonin is a naturally occurring hormone that helps you sleep. Your brain releases more melatonin as darkness falls and tends to release less when you`re exposed to light.
The treatment usually lasts about 20 minutes. LED light therapy is a non-invasive, painless treatment. During treatment, you might feel some warmth but no discomfort.
Sebo vacuum cleaners blow away cheaper brands when it comes to suction power and cleaning ability. This makes them especially valuable to people who have pets as a Sebo vacuum will easily clean up any amount of hair from your floors, and with their superior filtration and bags, will keep your air clean while doing so.
Short answer, the manufacture decides to either to add or not add a light. A light does help in showing if the carpet is clean or not. Most older vacuums and many higher priced vacuums have lights.
To reset the Brush bar press the Brush bar control button twice or switch the machine off and back on. Please note: In normal use, the Brush bar automatically turns off when the machine is upright and automatically turns on when the machine is in the vacuuming position.
Inspecting the Vacuum Commutator for Motor Brush Problems

Test that by turning the motor off and pushing on the center shaft, the armature. If it has any play, besides spinning, then replace the motor. If solid then replace the brushes – motor brush replacement instructions.

Clear the brush roll of any hair and debris and inspect by placing it on its end and spin. The brush should spin freely. If it doesn`t spin; it may be time to replace.
Check for a plugged hose:

Plugged vacuum hoses are sometimes the reason for a loss in suction. Hoses can get clogged with hair, dust bunnies, string, or anything else that can`t pass through the other end of the hose. Airways inside the machine should be looked at as well. Wherever there is an air passage, check it.

While this could be an indication that the brush roll is jammed up, a flashing red light usually means that your Shark vac is overheating. This issue is often caused by a compromised brush roll or some other kind of blockage on the vacuum.
The brushbar will stop and the light on the Powered Head will illuminate red. To reset, remove the Powered Head from the reach wand/handheld and clear any obstruction. Wait 1 minute before refitting the Powered Head, switch the slim vac on and press the brushbar on/off button.

I have a Roomba 560 (it’s still in warranty !!) and, after my summer vacation, it has a problem.
When I’m charging Roomba, the orange light blinks (and this is normal!) but this orange blinking continues forever…. the light doesn’t change to green.
If I detach Roomba from the charger, the light become green and it works normally until the light changes to red and I have to charge it again.

WHY, DURING THE CHARGING PHASE, THE LIGHT DOESN’T CHANGE FROM ORANGE-BLINKING TO GREEN?

HAVE I

ANSWER : The problem is not with the charger itself but it is with the battery inside the Roomba. It sunds like one or more of the cells has gone bad so its not holding the same charge as it did. I would recomend sending it in while the warranty is still valid so they will replace it. Your charger and the Roomba itself should be fine.

A few tips to keep the battery working longer:
Only charge the battery when it is drained all the way to zero. It will help keep the battery active.

Only charge the battery until it is full and then disconect it from the power source. It will keep it active longer plus it will help keep your electric bill down.

My electrolux oxygen cannister has the “bag change” light on when there is a new bag. The light stays on when the suction power is high (to pick up small particles) and it won’t pick up, but the ight goes off when the suction power is low (to pick up big objects). I changed the hepa filter, cleaned the motor filter and changed bags, but all that didn’t help.
ANSWER : You may have a clog in the hose, and/or the inlet by the brush roll. A clog will turn on that light as well as a full bag.

We have the water hooked up at the back of machine. there is a spout for the water to come in and fill the ice tray.but is does not. If we turn the water on it fills up the space under the ice basket. I keep getting red light and then the two smal llight one ice and one water come on. We can hear the motor trying to fill the ice try and then lights come on. Please help me this so I can use this product. It did not come with a manual.
ANSWER : The water inlet valve on the back of unit opens when the ice maker needs water. If the valve doesn’t seal good because of sediment or wear it will continue to drip and when the water reaches the ice maker supply tube it will freeze blocking the fill tube.. You can take the water line off the valve and watch to see if it drips.
With the fill tube blocked with ice the water can drip down the back wall or drip into the ice bin or just stop up. You can use a hairdryer to thaw the tube out.

Sound of motor changing
ANSWER : The sound of the motor should sustain a fairly constant audible level, even when changing surface options. The motor should only change its sound emission if a restricted airflow is encountered,i.e, a plugged hose from a foreign obstruction, a full dirt or air filter, etc. Also, if the roller brush belt breaks, the sound should also increase due to the motor running at a higher RPM
.Get to know your normal sounds and when you hear it sounding differently, investigate immediately to find the cause.
