To clean your shop vac, fill the canister basin with water and bleach to kill germs and bacteria. Rinse out the hose with water and run it through until the water comes out clean. While people only soaked the attachments, rather than the electrical part of the vacuum, Dyson revealed only one bit of the appliance can be safely washed. “We do not recommend that owners expose their machines to water,” a Dyson spokesperson told The Sun.
Internet research suggested, and Dyson support later confirmed that a wet filter can short out the motor and cause it to break permanently. Putting a wet filter can also void your warranty, so you might have to pay for the repair out of pocket.

Dyson dc07 brush not turning belt is intact? – Dyson DC07 All Floors Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum
ANSWER : DC07s have two drive belts that turn the brush bar – one connects the output of the motor to the clutch, the other connects the clutch to the brush bar.
You can check the latter simply by removing the sole plate and looking. Unfortunately the other belt is hidden under a plastic cover, so you cant see if it is okay or not without some dismantling. This cover is not easy to remove and requires a Torx driver to under the securing screws.
If, after removing the cover, the other belt is okay, then you have a faulty clutch. New clutches are available on eBay reasonably cheaply, but again good tools and DIY skills are required.
Have a look atwww.dysonmedic.com which has some excellent info on dismantling and repairing a DC 07, but unless you have access to such tools, and feel confident to tackle it, it’s probably time to callDyson or a Vacuum repairer.

Dyson vacuum turned off while vacuuming – Dyson DC07 Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum
ANSWER : Hi There,
Assuming if you leave it for an hour and come back to it that it works again you have an airflow issue. This machine will cut out if the motor gets too hot. The likely causes are 1. Filters – take them out and give a good clean once dry you can try them again. 2. Blockage – Remove your u-bend and the blockage removal access check for an obstruction.3. Radix assembly is blocked. I will post a link to a YouTube video showing how to address this as it is a bit more difficult.
If your machine wont turn back on after a rest then your options are 1. Cord problem (most likely)2. Switch (unlikely)3. Motor

I have a video for just about all these problems on my youtube channel under VacuumSpot or VacuumSmart. If this is a step in the right direction please lay a thumbs up on the videos 🙂
