After you get out your carpet cleaner, fill the clean tank to the line with hot (not boiling) tap water. Hot water does a better job cleaning than cold but, if you boil it, you run the risk of melting parts of your carpet cleaner. Add formula to the tank according to the bottle directions.
The short answer is that you should not use vinegar for carpet cleaning. There is truth to the idea you can use vinegar as a natural disinfectant for cleaning but it cannot remove dirt or soil from a surface or from carpet.
Vinegar Soak
Vinegar is commonly used in the kitchen, but don`t underestimate its ability to work away at that water heater sediment! We also recommend it`s use for everyday cleaning and prevention of hard water stains and buildup.
Just empty the water out of the tank after each use. Doing so will prevent leaking and extend the life of your filter.
Clogged up vacuum filters make a vacuum`s suction less effective. This means that the motor has to work harder, causing the vacuum to overheat, which reduces its lifespan. Not to mention, it won`t pick up as much dust or dirt, and your floors would remain dirty.
Press the dirt Tank Release Button and grab the handle to pull the tank away from the vacuum. Hold the dirt tankover a trash bin and press the Empty Button. Once the tank is emptied, snap the bottom back into place.

Need instructions how to use Hoover Steam Vac Spin Scrub. I borrowed it from my Sister and she left it with no instruction book or letting me know how to operate it. I put water & cleaner in top tank. That’s all I know to do. Do I put any water in bottom tank? I figured not, since that is probably where the water goes when sucked up by vac. Someone responded with a solution that gave me the website where I could go and print the manual in pdf, so did that, and checking instructions I was able to clean my carpets and get the shampooer back to my sister later the same day. I have a Bissell Proheat 2XTurbo carpet cleaner. No water will come out when I squeeze the trigger. I have filled the solution tank and the water tank. I read the troubleshooting in the manual and have tried turning it off for a minute and restarting and nothing. I took out both tanks and reseated them and nothing. It has sat for over a year but did not have any water in the water tank. Some solution was left in the solution tank. How can I make the water come out? HELP!

Parts replacement We have a Hoover Steam Vac that has a broken part #10 in your picture or Part # 37271035. Does this part cover the whole top section of the Vac? Is it hard to replace? Where can you get the best prices on Hoover parts? I have been on Hoovers website and they don’t even recognize this Steam Vac. which is hard to believe they don’t even recognize their own unit? ANSWER : This the hood or top cover. There some screws on the bottom as well as on the top, then it comes off.

The Hoover Steamvac Widepath will NOT pick up water. The dispenser with cleaner DOES have water. The TANK that would receive the dirty water is NOT full. All tanks are on properly and the machine will still not pick up the used water. I found a tear in the interior hose leading to the receiving tank and repaired throughly with electrical tape. Still will not pick up the water. Any suggestions?
ANSWER : Sounds like a clogged air path (no vacuum action) from the floor pick-up to the collection tank. Take the tanks off and deal with the vacuum problem alone. The collection tank should have a air exit vent–is it clear? Check the interior hose that you repaired–is it clogged? Remove the bottom plate and inspect the air path from it. Because this machine deals with water, clogs can become like concrete! Hope this helps!

Hoover SteamVac Model F6056-900 SteamVac/SpinScrub. Indicator light and high pitch suction noise indicates that dirty water tank is full. ANSWER : There are 2 filters, make sure they are clean, one is on the tank lid, the other is from the bottom, it is red, pull it out and clean it. If yours has a foam filter on the tank lid covering the yellow ball, make sure there is at least a 1/4 in. gap from the top. Also make sure that the lid in on and secured tightly.

Can’t get lid off of water and shampoo tank of a hoover steam vac
ANSWER : You can get the tank off the machine correct? Pull down on the black handle.
The lid is the black circular cap on top of the tank. It only moves a bout a quarter of a turn then pulls straight up. If it’s still stuck run it under hot water to loosen up any residue buildup.
