How to Identify and Fix Common Vacuum Problems ?

How long does it take carpets and upholstery to dry after carpet cleaning? On the average, it will take approximately 2-4 hours for carpet and upholstery to dry after being carpet cleaned. To expedite the drying process, you will want to use a fan and increase your air circulation.
If there is little or no water being sprayed from your machine, here are a few tips that will help. Check to see if your clean water tank is empty. The clean water tank also may not be seated properly. The brush window could also not be latched into place.
BISSELL Carpet Cleaners use powerful suction to remove most of the water from your carpets during the cleaning process, however the carpet will be damp afterwards. To reduce the time it takes for the carpet to dry, open as many windows and doors as possible to allow air to flow through the room.
Once the carpet is clean, we put down powerful air movers (fans) which will start the drying process. They will get the air circulating, and we also advise to open a window or two. If the weather is cold, even just a small amount will help. By allowing the air to circulate the moist air is replaced with fresh air.
Bissell Proheat Deep Cleaner

It features a patented hot water heater that provides maximum steam cleaning effectiveness via continuously heated cleaning action. The unit`s 12 amp cleaning system is quite powerful, removing tough and ground in dirt and stains from carpeting, upholstery, and other fabrics.

But you might be a little disappointed if you expect this tool to heat up its own water. Despite its name being the Bissell ProHeat, this carpet cleaner doesn`t actually heat up the water it uses to clean your floors.
Your carpet will be only slightly damp to the touch after your cleaning. Most carpets typically need 6-10 hours to dry completely. However, it could take up to 24 hours to dry depending on the time of year your carpets are cleaned, and the air circulation, humidity and temperature in your home.
Open windows – air flow can help to improve drying times and opening windows can help, unless it is very humid outside. Use floor fans – running floor fans in areas with damp carpet will help to move the humid air created by evaporation out of the space, and dry the carpet more quickly.
Check to see if the collection water tank outside the bladder is full. The float will activate to cut off suction. Empty the collection tank and test for suction. If there is still no suction at this time, please visit a BISSELL Authorized Service Center.
Bissell Pet Stain Eraser PowerBrush Plus

Those are the times when a lightweight portable carpet cleaner is a practical solution. In our most recent test of this category, this Bissell model was our best overall winner for stain and odor removal, sound, run time and more, outperforming the larger models we tested.

A leaking pipe is one of the most common reasons that a carpet might be consistently and regularly getting damp. Pipes are a facet of a property that are always in use, and if they have fallen into disrepair then it may well mean you will have a damp related issue on your hands soon enough.
Effective drying can be accomplished in various ways: “Natural” Drying: If the outside air is warm and dry, open the windows. Moisture equalizes quite readily. Adding Heat: If the outside air is cold (below 50°F), ventilating and heating the air quickly dries the carpet.
1) Firstly, you can check if the surface of the carpet feels damp. If so, gently press on the area with your fingertips. If they come away wet, then it means that there is still moisture in the carpet fibers. Be sure to walk on it as little as possible until it is completely dry.

BISSELL SpotClean ProHeat features HeatWave Technology® to maintain consistent water temperature while cleaning for heated cleaning, just add hot tap water!
When choosing between steam cleaning and shampooing your carpet, you really can`t go wrong with both, but steam cleaning would be the better option. It removes more unseen pests and dirt, and can handle heavy-duty cleaning without making you wait long for drying.
Our best overall pick is the Bissell PowerFresh Steam Mop. There`s a lot to love about this steam mop, including the fact it comes with two microfiber pads for different types of messes and that you won`t have to wait long for the steam to heat up.
The ProHeat® carpet deep cleaner is an Advanced Deep Cleaning System with Triple Action Advanced Brushes to scrub, clean and groom carpet. The built-in heater continuously heats hot tap water to maximize cleaning effectiveness. Remove deep down dirt. 6 Rows of cleaning.
Carpets that still look dirty or have stains reappear after cleaning is a result of something called wicking. This is due to over wetting the carpet, the backing, and pad which causes them to return back to the surface once dry.
The ideal temperature range for carpet cleaning is between 100°F to 150°F. At this temperature, there would be enough heat to accelerate the chemical reaction during cleaning, but it will not be hot enough to create problems with the carpet or the carpet cleaner.
Carpets made of delicate hydrophobic materials such as silk fibers, sisal, and jute should be sanitized without water. Dry sanitizing is highly recommended to prevent the development of mold and mildew. Washing a carpet with water is more time and energy-consuming than dry sanitizing.
The ideal dry-out temperature is 70 to 90 degrees F. Any colder than this, and the evaporation process slows down. Any warmer than this, and the dehumidifier can`t perform at its peak.
Turn on The Fans

If you`ve got a ceiling fan situated over the carpet, switch that on instead of opening the windows. It will make for a cooler, more concentrated funnel of air that can dry your carpet out quicker. The constantly circulating air will also leave a fresher, cleaner smell to the carpet.

Unplug and check to see if your clean tank is seated properly. Also, remove the dirty water tank and make sure there are no clogs in the hose below it. Remove the filter and clean both the screen and filter of any build up or debris and empty the tank before replacing it.

My carpet cleaner (bissell proheat plus) is not steaming, dispensing cleaner. Seems like there’s a little thingy that should be spinning or turning….. When I work a small area of carpet, it just leaves behind dry blobs of carpet gunk like pet hair. I had to use a carpet sweeper to clean up. FYI – I filled the cleaning fluid container and after trying to clean the carpet, it did empty out but the carpet isn’t wet. Any tips? The manual doesn’t help.

ANSWER : Ok in the future try to have carpet cleaned only by a pro. For spot cleaning use white paper towels or dish towels and warm water. (ONLY WHITE) 99% of fabric is white and then dyed to color and if you use a color cloth you might pull the dye from the cloth into the carpet. Now what you can try is your basic dishwashing detergent like electrosal with warm water and a dishtowel. little at a time try to blot not rub. try AFTA if that doesnt work. wet the rag first with warm water. pour the afta on the wet rag not on the carpet.

I have the Bissell 2x proheat. There is no water being sucked up from the bladder and the cleaning solution is not being sucked in either in order to get to the carpet. We have a Bissell Proheat Cleanshot 2X Model 9500 Steam carpet cleaner. The first time we used it things were great. The second time we used it it left tracks in the carpet. We have no idea what caused this. We tried using the machine on an entirely different carpet and it did the same thing. After vacuuming the carpet about 10 or 12 times, the tracks are still embedded in the carpet – HELP!!!! We’re read and reread the manual and contacted customer service and received no help.
ANSWER : First things first. It’s only the second time you have used the machine, so it must be fairly new. If you have a receipt and the unit is less than a year old you should take it to an authorized Bissell repair center and have the machine inspected under warranty.
.
.Otherwise, The jets on this unit clog easily, there are two of them and you can locate them under the recovery tank towards the front of the machine, and blow them out with an air compressor. To prevent the jets from clogging in the future make sure to flush all shampoo out of the machine with clean water when done using it. That is most likely your problem.
.
.If it is leaving black streaks on your carpet it could be coming from a burnt belt or melted brushroller part, in which case inspect the belts and brushrollers and replace the damaged pieces.

Carpet not getting moist
ANSWER : Huh I had this issue. It was killing me only used it like six times then no water. I took this apart four times man. They told me it was the pump. I finally ripped it all the way down. It was the pump. But it was the black connector on the main motor. Which runs the pump it came loose. I pressed it back on problem solved. Make sure you crimp it a bit. so it does not vibrate off again. Hope this helps.

I can’t get the vacuum to **** and can’t get to the point of the clog. The pieces don’t come off. Also need to know how to get the filter piece off the machine.

I sucked up a sock into the carpet attachment of my electrolux 3500 series and the carpet attachment cut off. After the sock was easily removed (it was only wrapped around the brush part) I reattached the carpet attachment, turned the vacuum on and flipped the switch to turn the carpet attachment back on, but it won’t come back on. How can I fix it?
ANSWER : Did you press the reset button? There will be a reset button either on the back of the unit just below the bulkhead or on the top side of the base.
.
.Locate the reset button and press; this should allow the carpet attachment to resume operation.
