Electrolux EL7055A Bagless Canister Vacuum\015 I have a Electrolux C102J vacum cleaner. The cord was pulled out to far and the cord won’t rewind. I have the back off but it looks like I have to take the unit apart to get the rewinder out. Where are the push points to get the unit apart? Or can I fix the rewinder in the unit? The cord was pulled out to far and won’t rewind. Is there something that I can just push to unlock the rewinder? Is it an easy task or is this something I should be taking to a repair service center?.Johnd\015
How to Identify and Fix Common Vacuum Problems ?
Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced Vacuum Technicians :
Any fine dust remaining in the filter can usually be removed with a gentle rinse under a cold tap – hold the filter under the running water until the water runs clear. You shouldn`t need to use any detergent – just water.
Pressing the filter change button for one second at a time allows you to toggle between the HEPA filter and Carbon filter icons in order to choose which you need to reset. Press and hold the “replace filter” switch for 3-5 seconds until you hear a beep.
Test that by turning the motor off and pushing on the center shaft, the armature. If it has any play, besides spinning, then replace the motor. If solid then replace the brushes – motor brush replacement instructions.

.Hope this helps.
.You have to open the vacuum cleaner and look for the wire..
.It is located inside the circular wheel, where it wind itself up..
.Don’t be afraid to open it, unless your willing to pay somebody just to install a 1$ part..
.Just always remember when taking the screws off and make sure you don’t lose any of them..
.Hope that helps you out!.
.Thanks for using Fixya!
.First, open the lid and take the bag, and hepa filter out of the machine.
.With a slot screwdriver, pry the hinges of the bag door out a little and take the bag door off.
.You should see one screw holding the black black panel, remove that. When that is out, you can pull the black panel off. It will give a little resistance to you, do not be afraid of breaking it, it will come off.
.Next you will see 4 or 5 screws down the holes there, remove all of them and the final remaining red piece will come off. When you pull this off, it will have both the cord rewinder and the motor assembly attached to it. It will be heavy becasue of the motor. Before you pull out the cord rewinder, just have a look at it closely and you may be able to just fix it without removing anything else.
.good luck with it.
Power cord jammed won’t go in or out. Can comeone tell me how to undo the casing to get to the power cord?
Before opening the vac, gently push the cord back inside the housing.
If the spool rotates and allows the cord to push in , the body must be disassembled, and the cord winder removed and the spring reloaded. This is tricky work. you will need to wind the entire cord onto the spool, then load 3.5 rotations onto the coil spring for tensioning, then reassemble. It’s a bit like working on a land mine of you’re new at it. Wear safety glasses.
BUT if the spool is locked from the outside and the cord wont push in or pull out, a fine , long blade screwdriver can be inserted diagonal to the body through the cord slot and with luck you can lift a cog of the spool releasing tension and the rewind will work. try that first , but be gentle . You must release the cord spool allowing a a dog ear catch cog to release inside by gently lifting upwards.
Post back to say how you made out,

.Hi, I have replaced
.Posted by dryder on May 02, 2008
.Hi, I have replaced the electric cord on Electrolux Lux Royal vacuum, but the rewind that retracts the cord does not pull it in. The coil spring looks ok but it will not pull the cord back in, any suggestions please.
Thanks Dave Ryder
.I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
.The question I have is it the Electrolux or the Royal cordwinder, if the cordwinder is sprung you may have to get a new one or a good used one, it’s been a while since I have done a cordwinder and I have seen it done, but I know when you remove the cordwinder you need to lock in the spring so that it does not loose it tension and re-coil ability.
