Wind speeds in larger dust devils can reach 60 mph or greater. Even though they are generally smaller than tornadoes, dust devils can still be destructive as they lift dust and other debris into the air. Small structures can be damaged, and even destroyed, if in the path of a strong dust devil.
Consumer Reviews On Dirt Devil Vacuum Cleaners
Consumers give high marks to some Dirt Devil models like the Breeze canister and the Featherlite bagged vacuum – where both get on average 4 out 5 stars based on over 200 ratings. That means that Dirt Devil has designed the perfect vacuum for the majority of home users.
The bag itself acts as a filter to trap pet dander, allergens, dust, dirt, and contaminants to protect anyone better. High-quality bags are airtight and do not allow small particles to escape back into the room and air.
If the device is not creating sufficient suction or powering on, the motor could be obstructed. Unscrew the screws from the side of the Dirt Devil Gator. Once removed, notice the motor device (the largest one) and inspect to ensure no dirt or debris is obstructing or damaging the motor or its fans!
What`s happening with your vacuum cleaner is that a clog has built up and debris being agitated by the roller is spitting out or stirring up dust without sucking it in.
Bagless vacuums, as the name suggests, don`t use a replaceable bag that collects the dust and dirt from the surface. A bagless vacuum cleaning machine is compact and uses a dust cup or chamber to store the dust and dirt. The dust cup used in the vacuum cleaner can be easily emptied and cleaned.
Dust devils form in an upward motion from the ground to the sky. They are short-lived whirlwinds because cold air eventually gets pulled in. Dust devils can become tornadoes when a storm`s updraft moves over the the existing ground circulation.
How Does a Handheld Steamer Work? A handheld steamer works by heating water until it turns into steam. The steam is then forced through a small nozzle and onto the fabric you want to refresh. The heat and the moisture from the steam will help to relax the fibers in the fabric and release any wrinkles or creases.
Dust devils typically do not cause injuries, but rare, severe dust devils have caused damage and even deaths in the past.
Dust devils get their name from the dust they pick up and spin into the air. Dust devils can form any time of the year but are most common during the warmer months and come to life on relatively calm, sunny days when the sun heats the ground and the warm air rises.
“Dancing devil” and “dirt devil” are terms for a dust devil in the Southwest. In Death Valley, Calif., it may be called a “sand auger” or “dust whirl.” To the Navajo, dust devils are chiindii, ghosts or spirits of the dead members of their tribe.

Dirt Devil R088100. Cloth Was Sucked Into Hole Below Dirt Holder
Brad, Hopefully it is the belt that you smell burning. I would start by removing the underneath side of the vacuum head. Normally just a few screws that are meant to be remove for general maintanence and circumstances such as this. After removing the screws this should reveal the dirty side of life to you. You may need to remove the roller brush, and inspect the ends to make sure the brush rolls freely while holding the ends. If not the ends may need to be cleaned of hair and strings: ends should pop of and a shaft runs through the middle connecting them. Clean and replace. Move on up the path the dirt travels. The neck where the head and vacuum come together is the next jamming point, if this is where the cloth is lodged chances are the motor may have over heated due to clogging. Your vacuum may have a automatic shut off. You will need to contact Dirt Devil to see if there is a reset for the motor. There are propellers / fan blades at the end of the neck just before the motor housing. This is most likely where the clothe has logged itself causing the brushes on the electric motor to emit the burning smell, if you can remove all obstructions and the unit still does not turn on, check with dirt devil about the reset, Hope this helps.

Bissell bagless sweeper sucks up dirt but will not put dirt in the canister cup. It will pickup until it clogs, then it will stop picking up dirt. It will really hold quite a bit of dirt before it stops completely up. Thanks for any help.
I had the same problem, called Bissell over 10 times! They send me 3 plastic inserts for the dirt chamber, not the problem. I solved it by throwing the Bissell away and buying a Eureka bagged vacuum, no more problems.

There is a filter in the top over where the dirt canister clips in, and one under the dirt cannister by the motor. Sometimes removing and cleaning will help if you have not tried it already.
