How to Identify and Fix Common Vacuum Problems ?

Your dirty water tank may not be secured tightly. Check the rubber tab on the dirty water tank and press firmly on all edges to secure it tightly. The accessory hose door also needs to be closed securely. Check the door and make sure it is locked in place.
It`s the foam that brings the dirt out of the carpet. Dirt particles stick to it, and it is this that makes your water dirty when it is sucked up. If your carpet cleaning solution is too foamy, or you leave foam in the carpet, more dirt will be attracted to it.
If you still have reduced or no spray it might mean the pump has lost its prime. To fix this, turn the power off and then back on. Wait for one minute, then depress the trigger.
An optional step that we recommend if you have time is to go back over the cleaned carpet again with only hot tap water in the tank (no formula this time). This will remove any leftover formula and give your carpets an extra clean.
Bissell strongly recommends using distilled water. If you have “hard” water, mineral deposits will most likely accumulate (eventually) in the machine and cause it to stop steaming.
Yes, you should keep cleaning the carpet until the water is clear. This will ensure that your carpets are clean and free of dirt, dust, and other allergens. However, you should be careful not to scrub too hard or use too much water. Doing so can damage the carpet and lead to more stains in the future.
Mix equal parts hot water and vinegar and pour in your carpet cleaner`s reservoir tank. Clean your carpets as per your cleaner`s instructions. Yes, vinegar might leave a temporary pickle smell in your home but it dissipates and disappears as your carpets dry.
Keep it simple.

In many cases, using plain water in your carpet cleaning machine is enough to flush out soil and dirt. You can even add a bit of dishwashing detergent to help freshen the carpet. (Dishwashing soap with grease-cutting capabilities can even help remove certain oil-based stains.)

A carpet with water stains can be a common problem and it can happen very easily from a glass of water spillage, a leak in the house or in those drastic times when a water pipe bursts. Either way it should be dealt with quickly and effectively to get rid of the stain before any mildew starts to grow in your carpet.
You might not be using enough fresh cleaning solution when cleaning. Make sure to hold the trigger to leave an even finish on your floor. Streaking can also occur if you use too much water during passes. After making wet passes, release the trigger to go over the wet area without spraying.
Fill up with warm water.

Hot water loosens and softens dirt more quickly, making it easier to remove, and it also helps to kill bacteria. That`s why we recommend filling up your carpet cleaner`s tank with warm water.

Besides vinegar, baking soda can also be used in the Bissell powersteam pro carpet cleaner. This solution is great for removing pet odors, which can be embarrassing to visitors and unpleasant for residents. It is a great alternative to cleaning solutions that contain harmful chemicals.
Hot water has a very powerful loosening effect when it comes to dirt and other particles. By using high pressure along with hot water and detergent, the process creates an easy means for the vacuum hose to pull out all of the dirt, leaving your carpet fresh and sanitised afterward.
You don`t have to use the Bissell solution, but it is optimized for use in their machines. This means it won`t streak, leave residue, need to be rinsed, or leave buildup in your machine.
Tips for Maintaining a Steamer

Always use distilled water to fill a steamer and don`t overfill the tank. Tap water contains minerals that can clog the steamer.

Tap water left in a steamer thickens due to calcium carbonate, resulting in a mineral buildup inside the steamer. That buildup eventually causes steamers to foam, which can potentially stain clothes and clog/break the steamer.
Therefore, to clean up those muddy messes or spilled Kool-Aid, you need to vacuum at least every few days, if not daily. Shampoo or steam clean your carpets at least every 6 months and consider having a professional cleaning service come in every 12-18 months to make sure your carpets stay fresh.
If left untreated, water can cause issues to carpet and can create bigger problems than a soggy walkway. The biggest risk of wet and water-damaged carpeting is mold. Once mold starts to grow, it can cause structural damage to a building and even more concerning, health issues for the building occupants.
The fibers should feel soft and smell fresh. A clean carpet will also not have any signs of stains, mud, or contaminants. Clean carpets feel lighter and fluffier in hand once completely dry. In other words, a professionally well-cleaned carpet will feel as good as new.
You shouldn`t need to make more than two passes with cleaning solution (especially if you pre-treated stains) when deep cleaning your carpet. Make additional passes without spray button pressed. The Rug Doctor deep cleaner has a powerful motor that will suck up and extract water from your carpet.
Combine a DIY solution of 1 part white vinegar + 3 parts water. Scrub your carpet using a soft bristle scrub brush and your vinegar solution to disinfect any problem areas that might be smelly or unsightly.
Baking soda is great for cleaning and deodorizing carpet, and it`s also great to clean multiple areas throughout your home.
It`s really straightforward – all you need to do is sprinkle a generous among of baking soda over your wet carpet and let it sit. The baking soda not only absorbs moisture, but it`ll also absorb any nasty odours.

I have a Bissell Pro 2x carpet cleaner. The water heats properly as well as spraying the cleaning product. However, when I go to suction the water from the carpets, the 2 in 1 water tank bladder works properly but there is no dirty water outside the bladder. I have only used this carpet cleaner ~ 5 times and in the beginning I had to empty the suctioned water quite frequently as it was dirty and it could not not hold any more water. So I have done 1 room and all the dirt remains in the carpet

We have the water hooked up at the back of machine. there is a spout for the water to come in and fill the ice tray.but is does not. If we turn the water on it fills up the space under the ice basket. I keep getting red light and then the two smal llight one ice and one water come on. We can hear the motor trying to fill the ice try and then lights come on. Please help me this so I can use this product. It did not come with a manual.
ANSWER : The water inlet valve on the back of unit opens when the ice maker needs water. If the valve doesn’t seal good because of sediment or wear it will continue to drip and when the water reaches the ice maker supply tube it will freeze blocking the fill tube.. You can take the water line off the valve and watch to see if it drips.
With the fill tube blocked with ice the water can drip down the back wall or drip into the ice bin or just stop up. You can use a hairdryer to thaw the tube out.
