Dyson DC04 HEPA Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum

How to Identify and Fix Common Vacuum Problems ?

Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced Vacuum Technicians :

Our machines are engineered with six layers of advanced whole machine filtration, which means that we capture 99.97% of particles as small as 0.3 microns. Our fully sealed system keeps dust in the machine, drawing the airflow through all six layers of filtration, expelling cleaner air into your home.
The company is going to focus on its smaller, battery powered models, it said. It made the announcement as it revealed its new Cyclone V10 cordless vacuum, which it says is “why we`ve stopped developing corded vacuums”.
Though discontinued by Dyson, we still stock a range of refurbished DC04 vacuums. Providing you maintain them well, they can last you for many years. It`s the environmentally friendly way to purchase your new vacuum.
The DC04, released around 1998, had improved filters fitted as standard.
Vacuum cleaners use an electric motor that spins a fan, sucking in air – and any small particles caught up in it – and pushing it out the other side, into a bag or a canister, to create the negative pressure.
The suction motor creates vacuum pressure and suction by rotating a motor fan. The impeller rotates at an incredibly high speed of about 30,000 to 35,000 RPM. A suction motor`s power is measured by multiplying the rate of air flow and the vacuum pressure, which induces air flow from the brush through the hose.
Dyson Corded Stick Vacuum : Target.
A Dyson vacuum cleaner has a lifespan of around 10 years. This is considerably longer than most other vacuums. So, if you`re looking for a high-quality vacuum cleaner that will last you for a long time, a Dyson could be a good choice. However, remember that Dyson vacuums are expensive.
It`s worth noting, at current we do not recommend traveling overseas with the Dyson Airwrap or the Dyson Supersonic. These machines are intended for use only in the country where they`re sold. This is due to possible voltage differences, and adapters and converters aren`t recommended.
Can I use the machine with the voltage converter? Hi there! The quick easy answer is no, you cannot use your Dyson Airwrap abroad, or in another country that doesn`t have the same electrical voltage that we have here in the US, 110/120V.
A Dyson DC04 vacuum cleaner has two filters, a pre-motor filter and a post-motor filter.
Dyson Limited, doing business as Dyson, is a Singapore-based multinational technology company. Founded in 1991 by James Dyson in Malmesbury, England, the company designs and manufactures household appliances such as vacuum cleaners, air purifiers, hand dryers, bladeless fans, heaters, hair dryers, and lights.
In the U.S., the common standard to measure rough vacuum is inches of mercury (“Hg), which can be measured in two different ways. One method is as “Hg gauge (“HgV), where the scale starts at 0″ Hg (atmospheric pressure) and goes up to 29.92″ Hg, which is perfect vacuum.
In a vacuum, a beam of ions or electrons may be formed. In other conductive materials, the electric current is due to the flow of both positively and negatively charged particles at the same time. In still others, the current is entirely due to positive charge flow.
The parts are shaped with a two-part steel mold called a die, which is lowered into an injection molding machine. Tiny plastic pellets are then poured into a heating vat and melted. The two parts of the mold then open enough for the plastic part to fall in a bin where the plastic hardens upon contact with air.
Conventional vacuum cleaners mainly use universal motors powered by a mains supply. Nowadays, brushless DC (BLDC) motors powered by a DC power source are increasingly used for cordless cleaners. BLDC motors are available with three-phase and single-phase configurations, which are controlled in different manners.
If you have ruled out an electrical problem in your house then firstly check your Dyson`s fuse, only replace it with a 13A fuse which is usually brown in colour. If you replace it with a smaller fuse it will blow that fuse immediately and lead you down the garden path to a problem that may not exist.
To reset the Brush bar press the Brush bar control button twice or switch the machine off and back on.
We only recommend buying these product in your country of residence, as our machines are not dual voltage. In addition, we do not recommend using a power adaptor or converter. I hope this help to answer your question.
The battery is designed to be left on charge permanently, and this will ensure that the vacuum is fully charged when it`s next used.
Bagless vacuums can require additional filters. They are costly and most people don`t clean or change them. If you don`t clean or change these filters, the vacuum loses suction.
Dyson vacuum cleaners use their characterizing cyclone technology which enables air to circulate at high speeds inside the vacuum cleaner. To remove dust, allergens and other particles, the Dyson collects all dirt through a filtration system.
As long as the air gets sucked out, the bag will work fine. If you struggle to get your hand to create a perfect seal, then you just need anything that can help reduce the loss of suction, so place the Dyson tube up against the valve and wrap something like a hand towel around the tube up against the bag.
Air hose: The electric motor sucks air through the Dyson along a network of tubes. The air is piped to the top of the machine, pulled and whirled through the cyclone, before returning through this pipe to the bottom of the machine. You can see the actual airflow through the machine in the photo down below.

I purchased a utilitech 7-day digital in-wall timer #0141224. My house wires are two black wires and a green ground wire. The new timer has a w,g, r, and b, wires. My question is what wires do I connect. I found the black power wire from the house. I have no white wire in the switch box. Where would the red wire go? Thank you
ANSWER : Hi!!.

  • The Green wire goes to ground,
  • .

  • The White wire is the neutral. (in this case is used to supply power to the clock.)
  • .

  • The Black wire will have to be connected to the incoming black hot wire and,
  • .

  • The Red wire will go to the black wire going to the light.

.In order for the timer to work, you’ll need to run a Neutral wire from a nearby outlet into the switch box to power the timer..
.Good Luck!! A HELPFUL – 4 THUMBS – rating for this solution would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for using FixYa.

Dyson DC04 i have a loose wire where the cable enters the cleaner how do i open the part where the on/off button is.
A wire is loose probably but I cannot get to the interior to check its status. How can I take it apart? the plug is sealed but could it be a loose wire in there?
ANSWER : You have to remove the yellow switch but to do this there is a small hole at the side of the switch nearest to the machine you have to push something in this which will push the clip that is holding the switch if you can do this there is a screw behind this that allows you to remove the switch

Trying to attatch the wires from the light kit to the fan but the blue and white wires from the fan have white caps on them covering the wire. Do these need to be removed in order to attach the wires with the wire nuts? If so, how are these white plastic caps removed?
ANSWER : They’re called “wire nuts”. Turn them counterclockwise to remove, lay the wires you need to join side by side with the ends of the bared sections even and screw the nut on.

Loose wire ive got a loose wire inside my vax cyclonic 1700w and ive stripped it down but cant see anything and its still not working but it was working when i moved the wire from side to side. Please help
ANSWER : Sounds to me like you have a open wire. There is a break in the wire inside to the insulation and as you move it, it gains and loses connection. You can test it with a continuity tester as you move the wire or just replace it to see if that solves the problem.

I have an antique 8 arm chandlier and want to put it up in my bedroom but the wire hasnt any differance in color, how do i wire it to the exsisting wire from the celing , what wire goes to what wire ?
