Dyson DC25 Animal Bagless Upright Vacuum\015 Everything is working fine except that the head won't rotate properly to the floor. When you press the red level with your foot, everything appears ok except that the head does not move freely up and down and so it only cleans the floor if you hold it at just the right angle. The head is just not moving freely up and down so that no matter what angle you vacuum it stays on the floor...Ideas?\015
How to Identify and Fix Common Vacuum Problems ?
Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced Vacuum Technicians :
Locate the u-bend cover, press the yellow release button, and look for any possible blockages. These blockages may be preventing the machine from locking in its upright position as well as reclining when already locked.
If it is, turn it off and see if your brush rolls work. Many Dyson units have this feature. Many Dyson units also have a switch which prevents the brush roll from spinning when the vacuum is in the upright position.
Make sure it`s free of dirt or hair and opens and closes freely. You can also check the attachments, motorhead, and flapper on the dust cup for possible obstructions that would cause your vacuum to pulse on and off.
While you might feel that this is the reason their products are expensive, you`re highly mistaken. This investment was mainly to accommodate a centre for their 1,200 employees, 22 laboratories, prototyping space, and areas for collaborative work.
Check the hoses, the filters, and throughout the vacuum, and clean out any blockages or clogs. Vacuums will likely also have a recommended cooldown time to ensure that the vacuum won`t overheat. You will need to wait for that time before you turn the vacuum back on.

What are my alternatives? If I can’t service this machine without returning it to Dyson, I won’t ever buy another one.
.
.The original Dyson part number for the brush bar (often called brush roll) is: 911961-01
.
.If you type the above part number into Google Products (click link below) you will get a list of suppliers at varying prices. A genuine Dyson part will cost about $20-25. There are some cheaper replacements available but you may need a different belt to use these, so I suggest you buy an original. Make sure the supplier states the part is Original / Genuine Dyson or OEM.
