Dyson DC25 All Floors Bagless Upright Vacuum\015 I found a piece of small plastic on the ground, and have determined it is from the swivel lock arm which has cracked at the base where it attaches to the knob under the lower duct hose. It no longer is attached just sits on top of the knob. I called Dyson customer service and was told this was an issue with the yoke assembly and it needed to go in for service. I believe she may be mistaken as it looks to be fairly easy to replace. The part number I found for it is 914103-01. Do you think it'd be easy for me to replace?\015

On the front of the handle you hold to guide the vacuum is the wand release button. This is a large release button that is found just above the power button. Push the release button in and hold while pulling up on the grip handle. The wand will slide out of the bracket that holds it in place.
Open the cap on the handle and slide the wand upwards until both the wand and hose release from the machine.Press the button on the end of the hose and remove the wand. Press the button on the bin handle and remove the bin. Press the tab on the base of the hose to remove it from your machine.
If you have lost suction from the wand handle on your Dyson vacuum, remove the handle and check the hose suction, if the hose suction is good then obviously you have a blockage in your wand handle. Common sense but its surprising how many callouts I have had for this simple problem.
To add any Dyson attachment to your hose, simply slide the opening over the end of the wand. Rotate the attachment as needed to adhere it to the end of the wand. You will not hear a click or anything since the attachment relies on the tension between the 2 openings to stay in place.
Firmly push the red bin release button. The bin will slide down, cleaning the shroud as it goes and the bin base will open. The bin base won`t open if the red bin release button isn`t pushed down all the way. Press the red wand release button and pull the wand away from the bin.

My dyson seems to have lost its suction therefore is not picking up anything yet i have found that when my dyson is standing upright it has a little more suction but nothing like how it use to work. Your DC25 is equipped with a sensor which shuts off the brushbar if something jams it. After you’ve checked the cleaner head for obstructions, and removed any threads or hair from around the brushbar, you should be able to reset the machine. For guidance in doing this, please follow the steps shown in the video below.
Please note, the brushbar will never rotate when the machine is standing upright, so make sure you’ve reclined the machine it into the vacuuming position before testing it.

ANSWER : I called Dyson because I had a similar problem. When I pushed the red button down on my dc25, but it would not stay down. The vacuum would turn on when the button was pushed down, but of course when I let go of it the vacuum would shut off. The helpful telephone tech. Recognized the symptom right away and told me to push down on the button fully and let It flick up like a lighter. I about fell off my chair when that worked right away! Anyways for what it’s worth, she said sometimes the mechanism in the buttons gets consnarlitated (my tern, not hers!) and this resets the spring.
This is embarassing, but I have just looked at the Dyson DC07 manual and at my Dyson for about 20 minutes, and I can’t for the life of me find the wand release button on my actual Dyson…..the manual pictures don’t look like the parts on my Dyson….I don’t have a hose with a wand release button….the hose just goes straight up inside the handle….Can someone help me? Thanks 🙂
ANSWER : Hi the wand release button is located directly above the the Cylinder release button. The wand release button looks like the picture below. In order to releease the wand you must firstly make sure the Electrical cable is not wrapped up for storage. So unwrap the electrical cable. then find the item as in the picture. Press this button in and at the same time lift the wand. This will realease the wand from the spine of the Dyson.
