In 2000, the North American rights to the Electrolux brand name were sold to Electrolux Group of Sweden, which since 1968 had been unaffiliated. The corporation that originally manufactured Electrolux vacuums has been known as Aerus since 2001.
Why Does My Electrolux Vacuum Head Turn On and Off? Typically, an intermittent on/off issue has to do with a connection between the vacuum head and the hose handle.
Electrolux consistently rates well in Canstar Blue`s customer satisfaction ratings, especially in the areas of value for money, quietness and ease of use, amongst others. It has a wide range of vacuums from stickvacs to handhelds, giving you plenty of choice.
Founded in Sweden in 1919 by entrepreneur Axel Wenner-Gren, Electrolux has shaped living for the better for 100 years by reinventing what great taste, care and wellbeing experiences for our consumers.
Check for a plugged hose:

Plugged vacuum hoses are sometimes the reason for a loss in suction. Hoses can get clogged with hair, dust bunnies, string, or anything else that can`t pass through the other end of the hose. Airways inside the machine should be looked at as well. Wherever there is an air passage, check it.

Problems can occur when overused or clogged filters cause the vacuum motor to overheat. This not only shortens the motor life but causes a loss of suction. In some cases, total motor burn out can occur.
If your vacuum cleaner keeps turning off, this could be due to the following reasons: Blockages – check the hose and head for any obstructions. Filter – always check your filters, if these are clogged this could be causing the vacuum cleaner to work harder and lose suction power.
Q: My Electrolux Central Vacuum has low suction? A: This is probably a clog within your central vacuum pipe. You should contact a local Electrolux central vacuum repair technician to get the clog out without any damage.
Electrolux vacuum cleaners are known for their superior quality, suction power, and durability. Some customers noted that their old Electrolux vacuums lasted them over 30 years— that`s no small feat!
Electrolux has now decided to exit Russia and divest the business to local management through a sale of its Russian subsidiary. A capital loss of approximately SEK 350m will be recorded as a non-recurring item affecting the operating income for Business Area Europe in the third quarter 2022.
Where are Electrolux products made? Today, Electrolux manufactures its appliances out of factories in Sweden, Mexico, U.S.A., Turkey, China, Ukraine, Poland, and Germany.
Made with careful craftsmanship and upgraded performance modeled after luxury appliances, Electrolux appliances offer a similar experience to high-end appliances without the high-cost markup.
The most common problem with a vacuum cleaner is also the easiest to remedy: clogs in the hose or attachments. Also the electrical cord, motor, switch, fan, brushes, and motor bearings can all need repair or replacement. The drive belt may need replacing; and the attachments, hoses, and filters may need unclogging.

The filter assembly is not washable and should be placed every six months. As with the canisters and uprights, an excessively dirty filter leads to motor noise, loss of suction, and overheating.

One of the easiest ways to increase vacuum cleaner suction is to empty the dust bag or container. Dust containers need to have enough space for airflow, otherwise, they could get clogged and have less suction power. Regularly check your dust compartment and empty or change it when it`s already 70-80% full.
The average life expectancy of a mid-range vacuum cleaner is about six years. You can fix or replace things like blocked filters, jammed brush rolls, frayed hoses, worn-out stick vac batteries and broken accessories yourself.
Vacuuming every day, or even a few times a day, is not going to create any long term problems. `But,` you might be thinking, `doesn`t the brushes spinning over the carpet on a beater bar wear it out? ` Sure, but a very small amount.
“We would recommend vacuuming at least once or twice a week—and more often if we have pets—with the right tools to remove dust quickly and effectively,” Patel advises.
Separators are containers placed between the vacuum point and the vacuum cleaner, and are the most effective way to vacuum and collect solids or liquids without having to use the container on the vacuum cleaner.
a separator that utilizes subatmospheric pressure to remove certain gases and liquids from another liquid because of their difference in vapor pressure.
Originally, they were made in Sweden, then in the United States. Today, Electrolux vacuums are made in Hungary.
Asthmatic American inventor James Spangler sold his idea for an electric broomstick-like cleaner—with cloth filter and dust-collection bag attached to the long handle—to William Hoover in 1908. His invention proved to be arguably the first truly practicable domestic vacuum cleaner.

I purchased a brand new Eureka Pet vacuum, sorry don’t know exact name but it the one that has the self cleaning duster on it. Last night I used the vacuum on my carpet, it was working fine until I accidently sucked up the corner of a scarf that was hanging off a couch. I shut the vacuum off, pulled out the scarf and and resumed vacuuming. Much to my dismay the suction on the vacuum had ceased. Can you tell me if there is a reset button on the vacuum? The vacuum does not appear to be damage
ANSWER : If the motor is running, there should be suction. Possible problems depend on whether it’s a canister or upright and are:
.A clog in the hose, UR or canister. Detach hose. Drop small coin in one end and lift hose causing it to roll out the other. If it does, no clog in hose. Drop same coin into hose opening on power head. If it rolls out, no clog in PN.
.Broken fan blades, UR. Needs to be taken to shop for repair/replacement.
.
.A reset button is for use if the motor isn’t running, so won’t have anything to do with the suction.

Electrolux Epic 6500SR Full Bag sensor working, Does not Reset properly
ANSWER : The problem was a sticking switch that was not being reset. The vacuum on/off switch mechanism is comprised of two switches. One is the main switch that turns the vacuum on and off. The second is a shut off switch that gets tripped when the full bag sensor is engaged. This second switch is supposed to get reset when you push the on/off switch on the outside of the machine. The full bag shutoff switch was stiff and it, therefore, was taking a couple of presses of the on/off switch to move the shutoff switch back into the running position.

.Hello,
.I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
.The question I have is it the Electrolux or the Royal cordwinder, if the cordwinder is sprung you may have to get a new one or a good used one, it’s been a while since I have done a cordwinder and I have seen it done, but I know when you remove the cordwinder you need to lock in the spring so that it does not loose it tension and re-coil ability. You may want to ask your local vac dealer to see if you need to repair or replace. My 4 yr old Nilfisk vacuum cleaner has been working fine up until now. But suddenly, it has hardly any suction power and also, hot air seems to be coming out thru the vents on top and also thru the space that’s normally used for blowing air OUT….the outlet with the retractable cover located close to the part where the power cable comes out of and retracts into. I’ve checked the filter and the hose and they are not clogged…I have also put in a new bag. Not keen to buy another vacuum cleaner u
ANSWER : Hi there SmartAlec from Nelsonvacuums.com.au here.It sounds like a blockage of some kind. The best way to find it is to set the machine up for normal vacuuming and remove one component at a time until the suction returns. eg turn on and feel suction under floor head – not good? then remove the rod, then the hose.
Once at the machine on its own it gets a little triky as i don’t know which model you have. However if you have a bagged model remove all the filters and the bag and retest. There will be at least 2 filters, one before the motor and one after (maybe under the vacuum or right at the back). If it is a bagless model even though the filter may look clean it is probably blocked with very fine dust. If suction returns when the filter is removed then you need to buy a new filter. I am a nilfisk vacuum cleaner agent so i can supply a filter for you.
If this still doesnt help you are welcome to call me if you live in australia my contact details are on my website www.nelsonvacuums.com.au.
Hope this helps !.
Happy vacuuming 🙂
