How to Identify and Fix Common Vacuum Problems ?

Vacuum hoses come in various sizes, and they often play a part in many individual`s buying decisions when shopping for a new wet/dry or shop vacuum. Smaller diameter vacuum hoses are often more navigable and flexible, not to mention lighter, and for specific applications, there are performance benefits.
The term vacuum hose can refer to any of the flexible tubes that are used to transmit vacuum power throughout your vehicle. When the hoses get smaller, they tend to be referred to as “vacuum lines” or “vacuum tubing” rather than vacuum hoses, but they essentially work in the same way.
Vacuum cleaner hose diameter is measured internally. Most common size is 32mm internal diameter (approximately 38mm to 39mm external diameter). Other less common vacuum cleaner hose sizes are 27mm, 35mm, 36mm, 38mm, 40mm, 51mm and come in a variety of colours. Ducted vacuums use 32mm vacuum cleaner hose.
Founded in Sweden in 1919 by entrepreneur Axel Wenner-Gren, Electrolux has shaped living for the better for 100 years by reinventing what great taste, care and wellbeing experiences for our consumers. This is our story.

Model and serial numbers are used to identify a specific product. The model number differentiates between models of devices—for example, iPhone® 13 and iPhone X. Many devices can share a model number, which means they`re the same model. But every device has its own unique serial number, sometimes abbreviated as S/N.
Where are Electrolux products made? Today, Electrolux manufactures its appliances out of factories in Sweden, Mexico, U.S.A., Turkey, China, Ukraine, Poland, and Germany.
The female hose connectors are used on the ends of hose (hence the name hose end connectors), and the male is used on the taps and watering accessories such as spray nozzles and lawn sprinklers.
No, they come in a variety of designs and sizes for different tasks. For example, there are male and female connectors, terms that refer to the way they attach to other hoses or connectors.
If the leak is located near the end of the hose, use a pair of pliers to remove the plastic connector from the end of the hose. Then, use a utility knife to cut off the end of the hose above the leak. Replace the connector and reattach the hose to the vacuum cleaner.

I purchased a utilitech 7-day digital in-wall timer #0141224. My house wires are two black wires and a green ground wire. The new timer has a w,g, r, and b, wires. My question is what wires do I connect. I found the black power wire from the house. I have no white wire in the switch box. Where would the red wire go? Thank you
ANSWER : Hi!!.
..

    .

  • The Green wire goes to ground,
  • .

  • The White wire is the neutral. (in this case is used to supply power to the clock.)
  • .

  • The Black wire will have to be connected to the incoming black hot wire and,
  • .

  • The Red wire will go to the black wire going to the light.

.In order for the timer to work, you’ll need to run a Neutral wire from a nearby outlet into the switch box to power the timer..
.Good Luck!! A HELPFUL – 4 THUMBS – rating for this solution would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for using FixYa.

Electrolux Model E switch wiring diagram
ANSWER : Hi,
. You may need to trace where the supply comes from, but essentially, you need one black wire from the motor and one from the capacitor to go to ground.
.The other capacitor lead needs to attatch to the other motor wire as I think this is a supressor capacitor – not a run capacitor.
.The other lead is probably either live or switched live. (You need to test this with a meter) – and should go to the other side of the switch – or the centre if it is a 2 pole switch.
.
.Just connect the capacitor across the motor – one side to Negative/ – not the switch – and the live line needs to go to the switch – and from there to the motor/capacitor leads.

Dirt devil vacuum cleaner–trouble vacuuming dirt and pet hair on carpeting –is the problem with the spinning brush which contacts the floor,  not contacting the carpeting??  I thought (when I bought this vacuum) that the aforementioned brush was adjustable to various heights of carpeting.  Sometimes, it seems like nothing is being vacuumed up –unless I have just put a new bag on the vacuum… Do I need or can I replace the spinning brush on the bottom of the vacuum so it kicks up and vacuums
ANSWER : Try replacing the belt. Rubber belts stretch out after about a year.

I purchased a brand new Eureka Pet vacuum, sorry don’t know exact name but it the one that has the self cleaning duster on it. Last night I used the vacuum on my carpet, it was working fine until I accidently sucked up the corner of a scarf that was hanging off a couch. I shut the vacuum off, pulled out the scarf and and resumed vacuuming. Much to my dismay the suction on the vacuum had ceased. Can you tell me if there is a reset button on the vacuum? The vacuum does not appear to be damage
ANSWER : If the motor is running, there should be suction. Possible problems depend on whether it’s a canister or upright and are:
.A clog in the hose, UR or canister. Detach hose. Drop small coin in one end and lift hose causing it to roll out the other. If it does, no clog in hose. Drop same coin into hose opening on power head. If it rolls out, no clog in PN.
.Broken fan blades, UR. Needs to be taken to shop for repair/replacement.
.
.A reset button is for use if the motor isn’t running, so won’t have anything to do with the suction.

I have a Eureka Boss Power Plus and the beater bar is rolling, the belt is turning, but after vacuuming up around the litter box (not a lot of litter), when I turn the vacuum off, the litter, or even household dirt, falls out. When I hold the vacuum back to turn it off so that it doesn’t fall on the floor, it’s sitting in the cubby where the wheels are. The bag is empty, the hose is not plugged, the hose is securely fitted on both ends of the unit. This vacuum was purchased in July and is being
ANSWER : Even though the brush is spinning, you probably need to replace the belt2_bing.gif because it is stretched. It is probably slipping on the beater bar. This is normal and you shouldn’t be alarmed. There is nothing wrong with your vacuum. 🙂

Wiring diagram I havea Dog and cat appart and are trying to understand the wiring. From the power side I have a black then another black for a individual terminal each and 2 x blue coming from a single terminal on the 3 pin plug side. This is passed thruogh the switch to a 4 x pin terninal strip that has a brown yello blue and blak from top to bottom. Can any body help me with a wiring diagramm so I can traced these wires?? The problem with the vacuum is that the motor is not running. I am tryin
ANSWER : Check the cord to make sure you have continunity throw both leads, check them at the cord reel, there are 2 wires hooked up to it, if not then the cord is bad. Check the swith also, the next cause would be the speen control mounted on the motor, part #04416342, sells for around $85. If your motor checks ok, then it most likely the speed control, they go out quite often.
