Eureka Altima I have a Eureka Altima vacuum and can’t get the dust cup out.
ANSWER : The dust cup has a small gray tray that appears to be part of the cup, but is not. I made the same mistake also and almost broke the stupid thing trying to get it out. Simply push the lock to the left to unlock. Gently lift the dust cup and not the gray tray and the cup will slide out easily.

I HAVE A EUREKA ALTIMA AND CANT CHANGE BELT – Eureka Altima Upright Vacuum Model 2996AVS Vacuum
ANSWER : The hood will come off if you loosen two screws at the front on top of the hood by the brush bar bit that is slightly raised. Then there’s a screw to the left hand side of the upright either below the hose or duster area. Once all screws are undone, the hood should pop off.
