If your Dyson Ball Animal vacuum no longer sucks up dirt, dust, and debris when using the nozzle and its attachments, there may be a clog in the vacuum`s nozzle. Unplug the vacuum and use the Dyson Ball Animal Hose Replacement Guide to remove the vacuum`s hose and check for clogs at the base of the hose.
Check for a plugged hose:

Plugged vacuum hoses are sometimes the reason for a loss in suction. Hoses can get clogged with hair, dust bunnies, string, or anything else that can`t pass through the other end of the hose. Airways inside the machine should be looked at as well. Wherever there is an air passage, check it.

Troubleshooting your vacuum cleaner`s loss of suction

1) Clogged air filter – As noted above, vacuum cleaners may use one or more air filters to trap dust and dirt as the air travels through the product. The filters can become clogged over weeks of use, reducing the vacuum cleaner`s suction.

One of the easiest ways to increase vacuum cleaner suction is to empty the dust bag or container. Dust containers need to have enough space for airflow, otherwise, they could get clogged and have less suction power. Regularly check your dust compartment and empty or change it when it`s already 70-80% full.
Handily stores the Combination and Crevice tools on the wand of your vacuum. So they`re always there when you need them.
The battery creates the suction power, so some cordless vacuums lose suction as the battery starts to deplete. Cordless vacuums with a lithium battery last longer and provide consistent suction power, but only the best cordless vacuums can perform as well a plug-in vacuum.
A Dyson vacuum cleaner has a lifespan of around 10 years. This is considerably longer than most other vacuums. So, if you`re looking for a high-quality vacuum cleaner that will last you for a long time, a Dyson could be a good choice. However, remember that Dyson vacuums are expensive.
All vacuum cleaners operate based on air flowing from the opening at the cleaning head or tool, through the vacuum cleaner and the bag and/or filter system and then out the exhaust port. This airflow is created by the vacuum motor, which also may be referred to as the suction motor.
One of the main reasons your Dyson Airwrap won`t work is because of a damaged power cable or plug. Check your power cord for any physical damage, and look for signs of wear or tear. If you notice any fraying, tears, or exposed wires, then it is likely that the cable needs to be replaced.
and so you just need to rinse this under cool lukewarm water don`t use any soap or anything like that just give it a rinse and make sure it dries for 20 at least 24.
The bin release button is located on the handle of the bin. Check the wand Open the cap on the handle and slide the wand upwards until both the wand and hose release from the machine. Press the button on the end of the hose to release the wand.

Hoover Windtunnel My Hoover Windtunnel is 3 years old. It worked great until yesterday when it lost all suction. I have followed the manual to trouble shoot any possible clogs and could find none. Then I noticed that when I remove the dirt collection cup and held my hand over the vent the suction is fine and strong. So… I replaced the hepa filter thinking that might be the problem. That didnt’ work. The motor runs fine. The suction without the dirt cup inserted is strong. As soon as you insert
ANSWER : Mine does the same thing. There is no suction. I found that there is a door that opens when you tilt the handle in the down possition. I think there should be a spring in place so it can open. Until I find a replacement spring I have to open the door manually throught the opening under the light.

ANSWER : Either the hose has a clog, or the inlet down by the belt is clogged. Is there suction at the end of the hose, if not then it is clogged. If there is suction, then it has to be clogged down below by the brush roll, check that inlet. There also is a filter at the bottom where the dirt cup (and bag) is, check it also.

My dyson dc17 animal will pick up via the hose attachment but there is no suction when you use the regular vaccuum on the floor – you can hear the difference in the suction once you put the floor part down – we took it apart – cleaned it – checked all hoses – still does not work????
ANSWER : Hi its Darran at Dyson.

Check that the brush control dial is in the centre position when upright and then moves forward when the head is released. If the brush bar is still not spinning when switched on in the vacuuming position, check the base for blockages and remove any threads or hairs from the brush bar as outlined in your user guide or on our website.

No suction Hello – any help with this would be much appreciated!

I just changed the bag and filters. The machine runs, seems normal, but there is no suction. There is no blockage of the hose, as indicated by the fact that that little viewer window above where the hose connects to the unit is not showing the red portion that it shows when there is something blocking the hose (god, this is hard to describe!).

If I disconnect the hose and put my hand over the hole, I feel some suction. But

ANSWER : Well, it actually sounds like there is a blockage. Try removing your hose and dropping something through it, like a quqrter. If it comes through, no clog. If it is clogged, I believe that machine has a blower on the upper part of the cleaner (maybe in the bag compartment towards the top. You can take out the filter holder and plug the hose in there and run the unit . Does the blockage come out? If not, Try shaking the hose, or you can put a stiff wire in it to try to free it. Do not run water through it. If there is no blockage at all, then you will probably need to take it to a service center. But I am pretty confident that we are looking at a clog situation. Let me know if this fixesya! Thanks, Rene (vacuum Doctor)

My new Kenmoore Powermate 116 canister has poor suction. I have no pets and light dust. Its not picking up small particles on the wood floor with the floor attachment. When I put my hand to the suction it feels weak. Cleared hose and changed bag. Using again, same issues. This should not be happening with a new vacuum. Is it a bad design in the elbow joint of the hose? I want to return this!!!!
ANSWER : First of all disassemble the handle and hose as much as possible and examine the inside. Make sure there is not any significant debris lodged in the hose somewhere like a plastic bag or something.
.
.Also check at the top of the pipe right under the handle and power switch for a circular plastic ring that rotates round the metal suction pipe. There is an empty slot in the steel pipe underneath it and in one orientation the hole in uncovered thus reducing the suction for use on delicate items like drapes. Just check that that plastic ring is rotated to the closed (full suction) position.
