Euro-Pro Shark Steam Mop – Gray/ Purple Vacuum\015 For some reason, our shark steam mop stop working. Usually after I plug the steam mop, the power light would light up then you would hear & see steam coming out of the mop's head but all of a sudden no power light would go on and no steam would come out. I can still use the mop, cause water from the tank still is able to flow down to the head. It's just that I'd have to use it like an ordinary mop not as the steam mop I liked. Pls help!!!\015
How to Identify and Fix Common Vacuum Problems ?
Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced Vacuum Technicians :
The Cleaning Nozzle is clogged Calcium and other minerals may build up in the nozzle, so you may need to clean the nozzle in order to produce steam. To do this, either use the nozzle cleaner provided with the Steam Pocket Mop, or use a straightened-out paper clip.
First, check to make sure the unit is plugged in and is in a working outlet. Next, check to make sure there is water in the tank. It is very important to make sure you are ONLY using water to fill the tank. Other solutions may cause breakdown of the gasket and/or other parts of the machine.
Heating Element. A common cause to your cleaner not producing steam can be a failed heating element. As the heater is used to heat up the water, if that has ruptured or burnt out your steam cleaner will not produce any steam. With the water tank filled and switched on the steamer should sound like a boiling kettle.
Not Plugged In You will notice a blinking blue light on the front of the device when plugged in correctly. If the light fails to come on then try to plug into a different outlet.
We have had some customers who have had their steam cleaners for 5-8 years and are still going strong. For less expensive models like the steam mops or handhelds, you should probably expect more like 3-6 years of consistent use.
Only Use Water in the Reservoir With the exception of a few models that have dual functions, steam mops are typically designed to be used with water and nothing else. The steam alone does a great job of cleaning the floor. Always read the manual on your mop model thoroughly for complete use guidelines.
Pull the wound-up power cord out of the mop and plug it into a 120-volt outlet. The on/standby button will start flashing blue. The mop only takes about 30 seconds to fully heat up.
Steam mopping over a painted surface is risky, even if the paint layer is sealed. The heat from the steam can cause bubbles beneath the paint, which may then peel. Best to avoid steam mopping on all painted floor surfaces.
Check for a clogged hose or filter; unclog the hose and replace the filter. Wait 45 minutes for the vacuum to cool; then plug in the vacuum. Turn the power switch to the “I-On” position to start the vacuum. If the vacuum still does not start, contact Customer Service at 1-800-798-7398.
Sometimes the battery may have gotten dirty or slipped away from its contacts inside the Shark robot vacuum. Cleaning and repositioning it may fix your problem. But if it`s an old battery or there are clear signs of damage, you should order a replacement battery that matches your model.
Flashing headlights
These work lamps make it easier to see dirt and dust that hides away in the nooks and crannies of your home, but they also function as a secondary health indicator. If your Shark`s LED headlights are flashing, nine times out of 10 it means that your brush roll is clogged up.
From the manual: • Top and bottom LED lights are flashing: Battery temperature is not optimal, so charging is temporarily paused. Leave battery plugged in and charging will resume soon.
First, attach the mop pad to the mophead, then fill the reservoir with water using the filling flask. Once the steam mop is plugged in, it takes about 20 seconds for the steam to build up, and you`ll hear the mop hissing. During the first use, I found that I had to pump the handle a few times to prime the steam pump.
Yes, you can use this mop with water only. It comes with a spray bottle of cleaning solution that you can use optionally.

I loved my Shark Steam Pocket Mop, but it suddenly stopped producing steam through the mop heads. The water is heating and I can see and hear steam coming out of the actually body of the mop, but it will not go through to the head. I have thought of running white vinegar through it. Do you have any suggestions?

The steam mop was only used 3 times.stopped working. It has now stopped working altogether. I have only had it for a month. I did not save the receipt because after the third time working I thought it was okay. I am very disappointed and have a hand shop vac of Sharks which has been working for a year. I have been discouraged from buying another one of your products now that the steam mop has quit working after 3 times. I followed the exact instructions how to use it. Model S3101/ 120V 60HZ

My steam pocket mop seems clogged. Steam does not come out of the mop head. The clog appears to be in the rectangular mop head. The triangular head still works fine. I’ve tried soaking it in hot water and soaking it with cleaning solutions. They have not worked. If I blow into the connection piece, no air goes through. That’s what leads me to believe there is a clog. If you can help, please do. I like the product and haven’t been able to use it for awhile because of this. Thanks.
ANSWER : I had the same issue with the rectangular mop and corrected it by disassembling the tube from the rectangular piece. There are two screws that will need to be removed in order to get access to the connector. Once the connector is removed from the rectangular piece you will need to **** out the clog. I used a small drill bit and was able to do this without attaching the bit to a drill. There is a slight angle to the connector which causes the clog to occur. The total job took about 45 minutes to accomplish. I could have purchased a replacement for $21.95 but thought I’d take a shot at fixing it. Hope this helps.
While using my mop yesterday, it stopped letting steam come out. Tonight I plugged it up again and you could hear it trying to steam. I push the button in to release the square frame and it pushed out a burst of steam and pushed the head off. Put it back together and it still will not let steam out. No matter how much water is in it.

My shark steamer has stopped working after a year of having it (I have already replaced one, I’m a idiot!). My problem; however, is that it will steam, but the steam stops traveling through the actual “mop” part. I plugged it in, wait seconds and start pumping, but the steam builds up until it’s hard to pump. I had to press the button really hard for the bottom to come off and it shot off like a rocket! I tried to stick something through the tubing, but it did nothing. What am I doing wrong? I
