If there is a clog in the vacuum, you won`t have good suction and the vacuum won`t work. The clog can be in the vacuum head, the hose or where the hose meets the actual vacuum.
Check the hose by inserting it directly into the main vacuum unit in the garage or basement. Turn the unit on and feel the suction at the end of the hose handle. If there is no or low suction, then the clog is in the hose.

Have a Centralux Aerus about 5 years old. Don’t see a model number. There is suction but beater brush quit working. ANSWER : There probably is a loose wire in the handle near the switch or a wire off near the swivel elbow near the vac power head. With the right fastener tool to remove some screws you can fix it yourself

Now that I just fixed my Lux Legacy canister vacuum, I need help on my other Electrolux Regency Series upright! The original belt on my upright Kenmore Progressive broke and I replaced it with the spare that was in the vacuum. The vacuum and spare belt are about 10 years old. I have a Eureka 4870GZ. It turns on, but the brush roller doesn’t move. The belt looks fine. I do have an extra belt and would try replacing the old belt, but I can’t get the old one off the motor shaft or the new one on. I called Eureka customer service. ANSWER : Remove the top cover so that you can access to belt, You’ll find 2 rows of 4 decorative holes on the top cover, In two of the holes you’ll find the screws, Please use a flash light to see in that., Once the screws are removed, you’ll be able to take out the top cover. Pull the belt so that it should rotate the shaft and look for small space in between from where you can take off the old belt and new belt on. remove the agitator from its drive shaft, put new belt in, put the agitator back into place.

ANSWER : When I get most Vacuums that have dies on people most of them the wire has been worn and cut one or more wires on the plug cord. Sometimes the cut can be over looked. Please unplug and check the wire carefully.

Infinity Vaccum by Shark, model number NV31COS, will not start. The vacuum was running just fine until it grabbed the edge of a curtain. Turned it off to release the suction. I have a kenmore progressive direct drive handi mate jr. upright vacuum. My daughter used it last night to vacuum up some cat litter that had spilled on the floor. I have a Kenmore Elegance Vacuum with Dirt Sensor, Model # 116.30750400C, Serial number M41901532.
