Your dirty water tank may not be secured tightly. Check the rubber tab on the dirty water tank and press firmly on all edges to secure it tightly. The accessory hose door also needs to be closed securely. Check the door and make sure it is locked in place.
Should the brush not rotate freely there may be debris tangled around the ends of the brush, carefully remove any obstructions or replace the brush with a new one. We recommend that you fit a new belt and brush once per year to keep your Reactive vacuum working efficiently.
Check the dirty water tank and make sure there are no clogs in the hose below it. Remove the filter and clean debris from both the screen and filter. Also empty the dirty water tank and leave the filter out to dry completely before replacing it.
Pull back slowly to pick up all the water.

However, you need to work slower than you would with a vacuum to pick up all the dirty water from your carpet. When you pull the carpet cleaner back, work slowly to allow it to suck out the water from deep inside the carpet.

One of the easiest ways to increase vacuum cleaner suction is to empty the dust bag or container. Dust containers need to have enough space for airflow, otherwise, they could get clogged and have less suction power. Regularly check your dust compartment and empty or change it when it`s already 70-80% full.
If the cleaner is still not spraying despite the water and detergent tanks being full, there may be a bubble of air stuck in the pump or the hose. To fix this, you need to turn the cleaner on and lower the hose down to the floor. Next, prime the pump by holding down the trigger for up to 1 minute.

A: Yes, you can leave clean formula/water in the tank when not in use.

You might not be using enough fresh cleaning solution when cleaning. Make sure to hold the trigger to leave an even finish on your floor. Streaking can also occur if you use too much water during passes. After making wet passes, release the trigger to go over the wet area without spraying.
It`s really straightforward – all you need to do is sprinkle a generous among of baking soda over your wet carpet and let it sit. The baking soda not only absorbs moisture, but it`ll also absorb any nasty odours.
Shop vacs are designed to be used on wet carpet to remove moisture, wet messes, and water. Use the carpet vac extractor attachment tool to remove the dirty water.
Gravity and friction are the two main forces that make vacuum suction work. While gravity pulls molecules in the air toward the earth, creating an atmospheric pressure, the suction cup and vacuum pump cause a pressure difference, attaching both surfaces.
All vacuum cleaners operate based on air flowing from the opening at the cleaning head or tool, through the vacuum cleaner and the bag and/or filter system and then out the exhaust port. This airflow is created by the vacuum motor, which also may be referred to as the suction motor.
Clog located in the vacuum hose

Turn the unit on and feel the suction at the end of the hose handle. If there is no or low suction, then the clog is in the hose. You can remove the clog by running a long, stiff object through the hose, such as a butter knife, starting at the wall end.

Your Vax carpet cleaner may not be picking up water because the machine has picked up too much grime, and has become blocked up. Check around the head of the carpet cleaner for anything obvious that might make the suction on the Vax weaker, or look for clumps of hair that could be caught in the bristles.

Mix equal parts vinegar and water in a bowl and, using a cloth rag, gently apply the mixture to the water stains on your carpet by pressing down repeatedly until the stains start to lift,” he says. Alternatively, use classic carpet detergent to bring your water-damaged carpet back to life.
Check the suction inlet on the body of the vacuum and clear it of debris if needed. Remove the hose from the base of the machine and remove any debris as needed. If necessary, you may use a broom handle to unclog the hose by pushing through both openings.

ANSWER : (1) Assure the Brush Control on the hood is NOT set to the OFF position.
.(2) Remove the brush assembly by pulling/unlatching it from base on each side.
.(3) Does one of the brushes have the drive pin present? It should be about ¼ inch square, and two inches long. It attaches the brushes to the drive mechanism.
.(4) Remove and clean the intake filter. One the base of the cleaner, behind the brushes, squeeze the two red abs together and pull the panel down to access the screen. Clean the hair/debris off the screen and reassemble.

I have a new Hoover Dual V steam vac that I bought from a neighbor who only used it once. I have only used it once since then and it worked great. This time, because I am pregnant, I bought some non-toxic cleaner that was much thicker than the very watery Hoover soap. This vac has a wash option and a rinse option. The rinse option works (sprays and sucks properly), but the wash cycle doesn’t at all-neither soap nor water comes out. Nothing comes out, but it still sucks. I took everything o
ANSWER : There’s a powerful electric motor attached to a fan that sucks in air.Did you checked and cleaned that motor. If the dirt is got stuck up ion the motor then the motor will not spin as per its regular speed. For rinsing the motor spin on one cycle but for washing it spins on reverse side. Its a dual spin motor. If its getting blocked on other side then that particular function will not work..————————.Empty the recovery tank of the Hoover SteamVac if the cleaner fails to pick up dirt. Once the tank is full, many Hoover models have an automatic shutoff that stops the cleaner. If this does not resolve the pickup issue, check the hoses of the machine and remove any blockages.———-
Examine the water tank if water does not dispense from the SteamVac. It could be empty and in need of a refill, or you may not have locked the dispenser firmly in place. The detergent tank should also be looked at and filled if empty.———-
.Determine if the valve cap is clogged if detergent won’t dispense from the Hoover cleaner. To remove clogs, unscrew the cap and then place it in hot water for at least 20 minutes. Once dry, screw the cap back in.—–
.Clean the filter screen at the bottom of the vacuum cleaner if the brushes fail to rotate while in use. To access the filter screen, place the machine on its side and pull the tab at the base of the unit. Wipe off the debris with a clean cloth.————

I have a bissell quickwash 1950-e. I bought it Jan. 2006, and have only used it 8-10 times, I live in a very hard water area, so I though if I put some vinegar in with the cleaning solution it would get rid of any hard water deposits, unfortunatly the solution went lumpy in the tank and stoped spraying out water, I have opened it, hose clean, sprayer not blocked, x at bottom of water container when depresed water trickles out, component that opens the x when water container placed, also ran wate
ANSWER : Hard to say what is causing your problem, replacing the cap and insert on the water tank may help, part #2041111, even tho it may trickle out water when depressed, they can still be bad. The other thing would be the rod not relesing the water like it should. The big draw back to this model is Bissell has obsoleted all of its parts and most are no longer available. Might be wiser to buy new.

The hoover steam vac 5 brush agitator dispenses water and soap but does not show any return water to dirty water reservoir. The carpet seems damp but not soaked, still a bit troubling no waste water…what up ?
ANSWER : You do not have the needed vacuum on the dirty water intake. Possible causes are:
.1. No adapter sleeve in the back of the dirty water tank (the one that you remove to put the fabric hose adapter in)
.2. The dirty water top is not sealed (cracked, not on correctly)
.3. The intake shoot at the front of the unit is clogged with dirt/hair.
.
.REMEMBER: This is NOT a vacuum cleaner – it is not designed to remove hair and dust…. ONLY wet dirt. If you fail to vacuum floors just before steam cleaning, the unit will clog up in minutes!!

I have a Hoover Platinum carpet cleaner, and it has stopped dispensing cleaning agent and water. This model has a separate tank for water and separate tank for shampoo dispensing. It also has a power hand unit that dispenses shampoo. All along the hand unit has continued to dispense shampoo. Symptom #1, the water tank seemed to be taking on shampoo, as it was getting sudsy. I am using a hoover steam vac and the button keeps popping up to say that the water is full. That makes the thing stop sucking up water out of the carpet. Problem is, it has barely sucked up any water yet. Help!
ANSWER : Have u tried cleaning it out really good make sure any areas that water is **** up through are free of hair, lint ect.

I hav a floormate, it is just new and I can’t get the water to release on the floor to wash it. I have the dial turned to wash and I do not get any water, the brushes do turn, but no water.
ANSWER : I had the same problem. I brought it into a repair facility and they took care of it. It appears that the trigger mechanism is a plastic shaft that warps over time, so what they did was to “extend” the shaft so when I pull the trigger, it actually pushes the plunger up farther and allows more water out.
.
.You can test this by taking out the top water tank and manually depressing the plunger on the bottom, does water come out on your hand? (do this over the sink! :-))
.
.When you look at the seal on the unit itself, does the plunger go up and down a little when you pull the trigger? If there’s a small amount of water in the little “cup”, does it go down?
