It also has developed a loud roar. It used to be quiet. I have had it only a year. Was wondering if the filter needs to be replaced. I clean it after each use. Filters need to be cleaned
Rinse the filters with lukewarm water until the water runs clear. Let the filters dry fully before putting them back into the vacuum. If your vacuum is still not picking up dirt, you may need to replace the filter.
Check the hose for any clogs
If your Shark vac has a hose, feel along the length for any lumps. That indicates a clog that`s causing your suction issues. See if you can break the clog by applying gentle pressure with your hands, or gently move it to the end of the hose to remove it.
One of the easiest ways to increase vacuum cleaner suction is to empty the dust bag or container. Dust containers need to have enough space for airflow, otherwise, they could get clogged and have less suction power. The two main indicators to determine vacuum power performance are water lift and airflow. The water lift is measured in mmH2O, mbar or kPa. It represents the suction force and is the reference parameter for vacuuming liquids and heavy materials. The airflow is measured in m3/h or in l/s.
Often when your machine is not picking up it is due to loss of suction. If your vacuum cleaner turns on but won`t pick up on carpet or bare floors, something is impeding suction. You may need to change the vacuum bag, unclog the hose, replace/clean the filters, replace the hose, change the belt, or repair the motor.
There Is a Blockage
If there is anything blocking the floor nozzle, the vacuum will not pick up debris. To check for blockages, first, check all openings on the dust cup and remove anything in the way of the openings. Reinsert the dust cup. Next, remove the wand from the vacuum and look inside for any blockages.
There can be a variety of reasons why your vacuum cleaner has low suction. It could be clogged filters, a dirty bag or container, or an obstruction in the hose. Check all these areas and replace any parts that need it to restore full suction power.
All vacuum cleaners operate based on air flowing from the opening at the cleaning head or tool, through the vacuum cleaner and the bag and/or filter system and then out the exhaust port. This airflow is created by the vacuum motor, which also may be referred to as the suction motor.
We have two possible ways of adjusting the pressure in a vacuum system: first, by changing the pumping speed (altering the speed of the pump or throttling by closing a valve); second, through admission of gas (opening a valve).

The most common cause of vacuum cleaner not picking up dirt properly is clogged air filter. Remove the filter and either clean or replace it as needed.

ANSWER : The elite rewind does not have any fancy features. This sound like you have a blockage in the foot or base of the vac. remove the bottom cover to look under. Also check the hose, it can be in there as well.

ANSWER : Make sure the hose is installed in the foot when using for the floor. check the belt. when working properly, you should see dirt spin in the dirt cup.

My Hoover Deluxe Rewind Elite will not pick up anything. My daughter got something caught in it last night and it made that noise when you get something hung. We turned it off but today it will not work. Is there a reset button?
ANSWER : When you are saying “today it will not work” do you mean the motor runs, but the unit will not vacuum, or are you saying nothing happens when you try to turn it on?
If the motor run’s, the belt probably broke. You will need to remove the bottom of the vacuum part that rolls on the floor, get a replacement belt, and install. Check your owner manual for directions and belt part numbers.

My hoover elite rewind does not pick up dirt like it should. how do i check for a clog? I can hear it picking stuff up but when I empty the cannister there isn’t much in it. today it shut off like it threw a breaker. I let it sit and plugged it back in and it started working again. don’t know if the problems are related or not. any suggestions??
ANSWER : Have you cleaned the inside filter? Open the cup hold on to the yellow piece in the center and twist it to unlock (there are arrows on the pieces to show how far to twist). Take the filter out and try to clean as much of the debris off of it.

.You Hoover Deluxe Elite Rewind sound like it is still under the factory warranty of one year and I would not attempt to fix it yourself because you will void the warranty. Suggest bringing it to a authorized Hoover Factory Dealer for the cordwinder, as far as it not sucking it sounds to me that you have a clog of some sort and that is not covered under the factory warranty, but does not cost much to get it unclogged. The average belt change is every 4 to 6 months, and to keep the brushroll clean and spinning freely. If you have further questions feel free to contact your local vac dealer. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Hetty hoover not working. It was working ok until I opened it up to search the bag for a missing jigsaw piece and I put it all back and I hoovered the mess on the floor, then switched off and switched on and hoover would not work? Is there a cut off button on Hetty hoovers?
ANSWER : Know cut off switch, its just not getting power ? 2 things its ether at the wall plug or in side the unit. I have never found a fuse in side them , so it may be just a lose wire did you try other plugs in the house . good luck DFD
