Hoover Deluxe Elite Rewind does not pick up
ANSWER : Check the hose and take the bottom plate of the vacuum off to check for obstructions that you can’t see right away. Use a wire coathanger (unwound) to push any clog through. I also have dogs and this vacuum. It does get clogged with fur occaisionally.

Automatic Cord Rewinder is not rewinding anymore
ANSWER : I had the same problem – the power cord for my Hoover Elite Upright (U5507900) was stuck a few inches out and wouldn’t go any further. But when I unscrewed the rewinding mechanism, the cord had clearly gotten twisted and partly buried under itself so after some work I was able to free it. Now it seems to be working fine, at least for the moment. Note that I had to use small screwdrivers to unscrew the cord rewinding compartment, like the kind of screwdrivers you use for computer repair.

I have a Hoover Deluxe Elite Rewind w lifetime Hepa filter and automatic rewind cord 24ft. but recently it is not vaccuming as sufficent as it did last time used, which is once per week. I do not see where anything is clogged, please advise..
ANSWER : Make sure the hose is installed in the foot when using for the floor. check the belt. when working properly, you should see dirt spin in the dirt cup.

Hetty hoover not working. It was working ok until I opened it up to search the bag for a missing jigsaw piece and I put it all back and I hoovered the mess on the floor, then switched off and switched on and hoover would not work? Is there a cut off button on Hetty hoovers?
ANSWER : Know cut off switch, its just not getting power ? 2 things its ether at the wall plug or in side the unit. I have never found a fuse in side them , so it may be just a lose wire did you try other plugs in the house . good luck DFD

Hoover U5507900 Elite Rewind problem
ANSWER : May have to replace the cord reel asm. It will have to be taken out and inspected, if can’t see a problem, then replace it. If this is less then one year old, then it is still under warranty and should be taken to a warranty shop along with proof of purchase.

My deluxe elite rewind vacuum spits out dirt
ANSWER : The elite rewind does not have any fancy features. This sound like you have a blockage in the foot or base of the vac. remove the bottom cover to look under. Also check the hose, it can be in there as well.
