How to Identify and Fix Common Vacuum Problems ?

If the tank is full then water will start to leak out. Place the cleaner over a sink and pull the drainage cap out underneath the tank to drain out the water. If the tank is full then water will start to leak out. Place the cleaner over a sink and pull the drainage cap out underneath the tank to drain out the water.
If the cleaner is still not spraying despite the water and detergent tanks being full, there may be a bubble of air stuck in the pump or the hose. To fix this, you need to turn the cleaner on and lower the hose down to the floor. Next, prime the pump by holding down the trigger for up to 1 minute.
The vacuum hose is the component most likely to spring a leak. Hoses get stretched farther than they should, or they become brittle and crack. To find a leak, run your fingers over the surface of the hose. You may be able to feel a bump, a rough spot, or a slit that is allowing air to leak out.
If the pump is leaking water, then either the oil is the wrong type and is leaking out, or the pump has a mass vacuum leak and is sucking in moisture causing the pressure to blow out water through the back valve.
The most common cause of loss of suction is that the filters have become blocked. They may require cleaning or replacing. Another cause could be that the vacuum cleaner hose is blocked.
To release the wand on the Hoover® REACT™ Powered Reach™ Plus press the Powered Reach™ Mode button on the top of the canister. This will allow you to remove the canister and access the wand release. The wand release button is located on the spine of the vacuum directly behind the dirt cup.
Vacuum Leaks Cause Engine Performance Issues

Specifically, because there is too much air and not enough fuel in the engine, your engine may stall, stutter, or lag in acceleration when you press down on the accelerator. This is because the engine is fuel-starved, which means it doesn`t have enough fuel.

Typically, a vacuum leak will cause situations like hard starting, rough idle, excessive fuel consumption, and engine codes. You might even be able to hear a leak – sometimes a whooshing or whistling sound can be heard with the engine running.
Step Five: Leave to Dry

The best way to dry your unclogged and washed vacuum hose is by draping it over a shower so that both ends hang down and allow water to drip. Leave it to dry overnight or for as long as it takes to dry completely.

Usually, leaks at the top of the hose are caused by a deteriorating washer. Before using a new hose, locate the washer and make sure it`s properly inserted into the coupling. Inspect the washer when you take your hose out of storage or put it into storage each season. Check the washers on your hose accessories, too.
The spray gun is leaking from the Nozzle

This occurs when the Needle Packing Nut is too tight, compressing the Needle Packing too tightly around the Needle. This occurs when the Needle Packing nut is too loose. Remember that the needle packing must be tight enough to prevent any leakage of paint material.

Hi-Vac hose glue, an adhesive that is uniquely formulated to meet high-performance needs, such as needed for glueing high vacuum hoses.
Hold the floor tool as best as you can using your foot and twist the metal pipe.. this should `break the bond`. As soon as you have movement after twisting the pipe, you should find that it pulls free.
Taking Care Of Your Vacuum Cleaner

The only time a hose needs to be replaced is when there`s a puncture in it that prevents proper suction. If you change the tube and it still doesn`t run correctly, then there`s another issue which might indicate the need for a new vacuum cleaner.

A leaking pipe is one of the most common reasons that a carpet might be consistently and regularly getting damp. Pipes are a facet of a property that are always in use, and if they have fallen into disrepair then it may well mean you will have a damp related issue on your hands soon enough.
When a vacuum leak occurs, some air enters the intake manifold without passing through the throttle body. The ECU, meanwhile, injects the amount of fuel necessary based only on the measured air-flow. This results in a lean fuel-air mixture, which then leads to erratic idling and lacklustre low-speed performance.
Broken vacuum tube or hose: The most common cause of a vacuum leak is a broken, torn or disconnected vacuum hose or tube. Because of the extreme heat generated by an internal combustion engine, these plastic and rubber tubes can deteriorate or break and cause a vacuum leak.
This is certainly the case with leak detection, with four main methods being employed: the bubble test; pressure decay test; pressure rise test; and helium sniffer mode/helium vacuum mode tests.
The reason why a vacuum leak creates hesitation and stalling conditions in the engine is that the engine is filling with air. The air begins to starve the engine of fuel, and, consequently, you will end up with engine performance issues as a result.
A vacuum leak allows unmetered air into the engine, throwing off that balance. Although most vacuum leaks cause performance problems (i.e., rough running and stalling) a large enough leak can prevent the engine from starting altogether.
Engine loses power or won`t start

If the pressure is too high, it can cause a head gasket to be pushed out, can cause cylinder head hardware to break or in some cases, will cause detonation inside the engine.

You may feel your engine hiccup or sputter, and this is a sign that your vehicle isn`t getting enough fuel. In severe vacuum leak cases, your engine might stall, especially if it`s unable to maintain power during an idle.

Vacuum leak symptoms

Symptoms of a vacuum leak include the Check Engine light, rough idle, stalling and a hissing sound coming from the engine bay. The engine may run well at higher RPMs, but surges, runs rough and struggles to maintain stable RPMs at idle. Often, the engine stalls when stopping.

I was vacuuming the vent in the bottom of the fridge. I must have picked something because the motor got wildly noisey. I cleaned out hoses, etc. There is no suction. I can see the blades of the motor and they are not turning around. Model U4269-930 Series B.72. Can I get at the motor to see if something is keeping the blades from turning? What would be your suggestion. Many thanks. Pat Sauerman
ANSWER : Hi Pat, my name is John I will do my best to assist you.
.
.You certainly can get at the motor, with simple hand tools.
.

    .

  1. Referring to this assembly diagram assembly 36 the motor compartment cover has to be removed. There should be locking tabs formed into the plastic that fasten the housing to the base. Look around the perimeter of the housing bottom, you should be able to see the tabs. Using a flat bladed screwdriver carefully pry at the tab locations while pulling on the housing until the housing separates.
  2. .

  3. Remove motor straps 29 and 38 by removing screws 30.
  4. .

  5. Referring to this motor assembly diagram remove screws 1 and then separate the impeller cover from the housing. I suspect that you will either find debris lodged in the impeller fins that has jammed it from rotating, or that the impeller itself is damaged. You can order replacement parts from Sears Parts Direct.
  6. .

  7. Reassemble in the reverse order.

I have a hayward 1HP superpump with an Ao Smith UST 1102 motor on it. Last year I had a leak in the pump, and I believe I got some water in the bearings of the motor. Over the winter I replaced all the seals in the pump, and have no leaks this year, but the pump is sounding pretty loud since opening the pool this year.

I have (2) fold question:

(1)I can not find any information on the where I can find a replacement bearing for this pump.

(2) I can not find a procedure on HOW to go about

I have a hoover F5915-900. Today when I got it our to use it I noticed that it was leaking. I did some troubleshooting, but not sure where to go from here. The solution tank leaks out if the recovery tank is connected also. If I remove the recovery tank and leave the solution tank on it does not leak. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
