How to Identify and Fix Common Vacuum Problems ?

Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced Vacuum Technicians :

A handheld steamer works by heating water until it turns into steam. The steam is then forced through a small nozzle and onto the fabric you want to refresh. The heat and the moisture from the steam will help to relax the fibers in the fabric and release any wrinkles or creases.
How Steam Cleaners Work. Water is heated past the boiling point and forced out as pressurized steam through a nozzle, brush, or other attachment. The vapor loosens dirt and kills dust mites, mold, staph, and other allergens and harmful bacteria. No suction is required, since the high-heat moisture dries quickly.
Garment steamers are a convenient way to keep your clothes fresh and wrinkle-free at home or on the road. They keep your clothes looking new longer and eliminate some of the wear and tear from ironing and frequent washing.
Handheld steamers typically work best (and fastest) on thinner fabrics like silk, polyester, and linen. If your wardrobe consists mainly of these delicate materials, you`ll rarely need to pull out the iron—in fact, you probably don`t want to iron anyway for fear of scorching them, Jackie says.
A steam cleaner pertains to a unit which heats water to a high temperature and creates steam vapour in the process. It then shoots the vaporised water or steam to carpeting then extracts the dirt and solution in a collection tank. For average carpet types, steam cleaning is effective in the removal of dirt and grease.
Steam cleaning kills germs, viruses, and molds.

When steam penetrates surface pores, it removes dirt, debris, bacteria, and other tiny elements with hot vapor molecules. These vapor molecules are so hot that they are able to kill even the strongest pathogens like E. Coli and Salmonella from your home`s surfaces.

Dust and dirt are drawn up via either a brush or another appropriate nozzle through the pipe/hose and into the dust collector. This process is powered by the suction motor and all air is filtered through the exhaust filter to keep debris in the vacuum, while expelling only clean air.
If the product is not making steam please check that there is water in the tank fitted at the top. If the product is not making steam please check that there is water in the tank fitted at the top. Pull the tank up and fill it up with water. Please do not add any cleaning solutions to the water in the tank.
When the hot steam gets passed into the floor, it goes to work! The heat of the steam kills any germs, bacteria and dust mites on the floor. The steam also loosens up any dirt and grime on the floor using sharp and focused heat. The mop pad then absorbs the dissolved dirt, leaving your floors sparkly clean.
Steamers work by heating up water until it becomes steam. The hot steam is then applied through a steam nozzle to a wrinkled fabric to eliminate wrinkles and creases. There are two main types of steamers: upright steamers and handheld steamers.
Why Steamers Are Better Than Irons. According to The Laundress, steaming your clothes not only gets out wrinkles but it also kills odor-causing bacteria, keeping clothes fresh in between washes—perfect for items that you can`t wash frequently (or at all) or are dry-clean only.
According to new research, the best steamers (also known as “steam cleaners” or “garment steamers”) can go a long way towards eliminating household germs and bacteria, while helping to refresh clothing, bedding, furniture and everyday accessories too.
Steamers are unable to give clothes that sharp and crisp look. Usually unable to wear clothes immediately after steaming, as it might be damp. Does not work well when smoothing out creases in tough or thick fabrics. Most portable steamers may require repeated refills, as the water tank is small.
With such high temperatures, the steam provides a much more effective clean than traditional cleaning methods. In fact, steam cleaning does the following: Kills 99.99% of bacteria. Removes even the toughest of mold growth.
A good rule of thumb is to have your carpet professionally steam cleaned at least once a year, twice if you seem to track a lot of dirt in. This way you get a good, deep cleaning and don`t let the dirt build up. Vacuum once or twice a week to keep it clean in between your steam cleaning sessions.
All-in-one vacuums and steam cleaners combine both vacuuming and steam cleaning into one machine, so you can knock out both tasks with one purchase. They work like wet-dry vacuums. You vacuum debris and give your floors a deep clean at the same time, effectively killing germs and sanitizing your floors.
If you have hard floors and want a time-saving, deep cleaning solution, a vacuum mop may be worth the investment. If you prefer a more eco-friendly, versatile, and budget-friendly option, a steam mop may be the way to go. Always check customer reviews and warranty information before making a final decision.
A vacuum cleaner, also known simply as a vacuum or a hoover, is a device that causes suction in order to remove dirt from floors, upholstery, draperies, and other surfaces.
Certain vacuum cleaners spit fine dust and bacteria back into the air, where they can spread infections and trigger allergies.
For the electrical appliance that cleans surfaces through suction, North Americans tend to use vacuum cleaner, or just vacuum, and Britons tend to use hoover. Both words also function as verbs, inflected vacuumed, vacuuming, hoovered, and hoovering. By metaphorical extension, hoover also means to consume completely.
Regular vacuum cleaners are not designed to pick up water and other liquids. If you are ever tempted to run the vacuum cleaner over a puddle of water, remember that you run the risk of electrocution and serious damage to the machine.
During steam cleaning, steam vapor penetrates deep into carpet and surrounds carpet fibers to help soften and loosen dirt and shift old stains. Then the vacuum component of the steam cleaner applies pressure to lift away the moisture along with the germs and dirt, for fresher, cleaner carpets.
Some steam cleaners have a steam vacuum that is perfect for carpet cleaning. The vapor loosens dirt and the vacuum will simultaneously suck up all the loosened up debris making it a quick clean up.
Steam cleaning is better than traditional mopping in some ways. You`ll get a deeper clean with a steam mop because the high temperature of the steam actually sanitizes your floors—something a traditional mop can`t do without the use of chemicals.

.Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Hoover F5881-900 Vacuum. It sounds to me that if you have a clean bag and filter, it sounds like you have dust in the motor section and it needs to be cleaned and or take a good blower and blow out the dirt or you may have a clog or dirt build up in the suction line and that might be causing the dusty smell. Please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or call the Hoover factory and ask for tech support. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

I was using my Henry Hoover as usual. When i sucked up quite a fair sized puddle of water. The hoover instantly cut out and a strange burning smell was coming from it. Would this be the fuse, motor etc ? Or would it be worth my while just replacing the entire hoover ?
ANSWER : Hi. I have to wonder why anyone would **** up a puddle of water with a dry vacuum cleaner (with no earth lead). I realise that your question may simply be a joke, but if you are serious, I think it is probably fair to assume that it is now dead and probably gone to “Henry Heaven”. Perhaps it would pay you to buy a “Charles” which is a wet & dry version of Henry.
