How to Identify and Fix Common Vacuum Problems ?

The Roomba 690 is one of three options in the 600 series line that`s the cheapest in Roomba`s product line.
You can label rooms and even set cleaning schedules for each area. The iRobot Roomba bots, including the newer i6 to i8+, s9, and S9+, the brand new iRobot Roomba j7+, and even the m6 mopping robot can create multiple maps for different floors and spaces.
To view a Clean Map™ Report of the most recently performed cleaning job, open the iRobot® HOME App and select the card under History from the Home screen. To see other previous cleans, either scroll through the cards to the left or select the > next to History.
Roomba® Model #
To find your Roomba® model number, turn the robot over. The model number is printed near the left wheel, on the underside of the robot.
Keep your robot plugged in and charging on the Home Base® or Clean Base™ when not in use. If your robot will not be used for more than a few weeks, we recommend placing the robot in ship mode. and storing it in a cool, dry place.
Most owners believe that running their robot vacuums four times per week is sufficient to keep the floors dust-free. However, if you have children or pets, you should use your robot vacuum more frequently. Daily vacuuming is recommended if you suffer from seasonal allergies.
Made by iRobot, these robotic vacuum cleaners use sensors to detect walls and items in a room, becoming smarter the more frequently they clean.
iRobot has continuously improved its products since introducing the first Roomba roughly 20 years ago. In 2015, these improvements started involving cameras. The 7th-generation Roomba sported an upward-facing camera for identifying “landmarks” like lamps and sofas to improve navigation.
Roomba® can also learn your home as it cleans. It typically takes three (3) to five (5) cleaning missions or Mapping Runs to generate a fully developed Imprint™ Smart Map that you can then customize and use.
Most companies developing high-end robot vacuums use visual simultaneous localization and mapping (VSLAM) or LiDAR technology to build a virtual map of the room. These technologies enable the robot vacuum to move around more efficiently, covering an entire level of a home with multiple rooms.
Users simply start a Roomba® cleaning job and the robot will methodically collect Wi-Fi signal information as it cleans. Upon completion of the cleaning job, the app will present a Wi-Fi Coverage Map for the area cleaned that corresponds to the familiar Clean Map.

How do I figure out which model I have? I do not have any manuals for my roomba. Currently when I turn it on, it will make a continuous non-increasing circle, then shut itself off.

.
.In order to find out which model Roomba you have, turn the machine upside down and look for a sticker that contains the serial and model number.
.
.There are basically 2 different series of Roomba’s, the newer 500 series, and the older 4000 series Discovery series. These models usually had multiple buttons on the top, unlike the newer 500 series which have just one.

ANSWER : I read somewhere that you need to clear the software in case there is a glitch. To do this, take the battery out and then, simultaneously hold down the “spot” and “clean” buttons for 30 seconds. Replace battery. This has worked for my Discovery model.

I have a roomba 530 pet series. It appears that the brushes aren’t turning. They are free of dirt and debris and move easily when manually turned. But, You can tell there may not be a motor turning, because the roomba is more quiet than normal when you turn it on. Also, the hair just collects along the bottom of the brush and doesn’t get pushed into the bin.
