The water is the fluid which traps every dust and dirt particles that come into the Rainbow, Running your Rainbow without water allows all these particles pass into the Rainbow internal parts, and also clogging your HEPA filter, which is designed to be a backup filter to work together with the water.
How to Deep-Clean a Vacuum. While you should clean some individual parts more often, the Vacuum Experts say it`s a good rule of thumb to take apart the entire vacuum and scrub it down about once a year.
The most common problem with a vacuum cleaner is also the easiest to remedy: clogs in the hose or attachments. Also the electrical cord, motor, switch, fan, brushes, and motor bearings can all need repair or replacement. The drive belt may need replacing; and the attachments, hoses, and filters may need unclogging.
The Rainbow E2 Wet/Dry Canister Vacuum features Rexair`s popular air/water filtration system.
It is the only vacuum that is a certified air purifier and is designed to run 24/7 on a lower speed to purify the air in the home. The unique difference is the water. All dirt and dust is trapped in a basin of water so that no debris can re-enter the home atmosphere.
Vacuum up Liquids

Regular vacuum cleaners are not designed to pick up water and other liquids. If you are ever tempted to run the vacuum cleaner over a puddle of water, remember that you run the risk of electrocution and serious damage to the machine.

If you follow these basic guidelines, expect your Rainbow to last some 20 to 30 years because it is a very robust machine. Let`s go through them one by one. Here are some basic maintenance tips from what to do after you throw water away to cleaning the brush roll…
This is unlikely to ruin a vacuum cleaner completely; however, it can still create a mess within your bag or vacuum chamber. You`ll probably need to let it dry out before using the vacuum.
Empty the vacuum cleaner, discard the contents in the outside trash and use an anti-bacterial wipe to clean the vacuum. Let it dry thoroughly. If your manufacturer says your vacuum cannister is washable, wash it out with warm, soapy water and then rinse it and let it dry.
As a general rule, if the repair is going to cost less than half the cost of a new vacuum cleaner, it`s best to go ahead and get it repaired. When the service tops half the price of a new machine, it`s probably best to invest in a newer model.
The average life expectancy of a mid-range vacuum cleaner is about six years. You can fix or replace things like blocked filters, jammed brush rolls, frayed hoses, worn-out stick vac batteries and broken accessories yourself.
Check for a plugged hose:

Plugged vacuum hoses are sometimes the reason for a loss in suction. Hoses can get clogged with hair, dust bunnies, string, or anything else that can`t pass through the other end of the hose. Airways inside the machine should be looked at as well. Wherever there is an air passage, check it.

Clog located in the vacuum hose

Turn the unit on and feel the suction at the end of the hose handle. If there is no or low suction, then the clog is in the hose. You can remove the clog by running a long, stiff object through the hose, such as a butter knife, starting at the wall end.

Overall, if you`re interested in a vacuum that collects dust and dirt efficiently, a dry vacuum cleaner is for you. However, if you`re looking for a vacuum that sucks up larger and bigger quantities of debris and collects water safely, a wet vacuum cleaner would be recommended.
Air pulled into the Rainbow is cleansed through a swirling water bath and then is filtered through a HEPA neutralizer, returning fresh, water-washed air to your home.

Vacuuming every day, or even a few times a day, is not going to create any long term problems. `But,` you might be thinking, `doesn`t the brushes spinning over the carpet on a beater bar wear it out? ` Sure, but a very small amount.

How do i reinsert the black little chip on my rainbow vaccum e2 so it can turn on
ANSWER :
The part that is sounds like you are talking about is the Interlock Plunger. This part is under the Right Baffle Plate Assembly. It works with the Interlock Switch for safety so the Rainbow will not turn on unless it is latched onto the water pan. Remove the Right Baffle Assembly and insert into the small pocket that the Interlock Switch is installed.

ANSWER : You can test this out by taking a small metal spoon and with the bottom side of the spoon insert it into the vac outlet on the wall. you want to touch the two metal pins inside the vac outlet to test if the unit is the problem or the hose is the problem.
.
.If the unit starts, the hose should have a 3 year warranty on it. I recommend you have your nearest beam dealer check it out.
.
.If the unit does not start, it has a 7 or 10 year warranty, the circuitry should be replaced. Again have your nearest beam dealer check it out.

.Peace,

Infinity Vaccum by Shark, model number NV31COS, will not start. The vacuum was running just fine until it grabbed the edge of a curtain. Turned it off to release the suction. Turned it back on and was working fine. About a minute later the vacuum was making an odd noise. Every 2 seconds or so it would “heave” (lack of a better word) then go away, then come back and so on. Turned the vacuum off and checked for blockage, none that could be seen or felt, and now the vacuum won’t turn. Any suggestio

When I was using my Bissell ProHeat 7901, I smelled something hot (almost burnt) and turned off the vaccum. When I turned it back on, everything seemed to be working, but the vaccum part was not making the same sound. The bristles are still turning, but it isn’t picking up as much and is leaving quite a bit of lint on the carpet. Could the belts be worn? How do I tell? Thanks!
ANSWER : Ya that is probably the issue. Here is a link to the belts you need and to the manual which has instructions:
