How to Identify and Fix Common Vacuum Problems ?

Switch off and unplug before emptying the clear bin. To remove the cyclone and clear bin unit, push the red button on the top of the carrying handle, as shown. To release the dirt, firmly push the red bin release button. The bin will slide down, cleaning the shroud as it goes.
The Dyson DC07 was introduced in 2001 with brand new Root Cyclone technology.
There are two filters on a DC07, the first is the pre-motor filter, which are washable and is recommended by Dyson to be washed at least every 6 months. The pre motor filter also acts as a protection to the motor, trapping the smallest of dirt or debris from travelling to the motor.
The answer to this is – NO you can not. Unlike the pre motor yellow pre filter, which is on the side of the vacuum, the HEPA filter is not washable. It has HEPA media which gets destroyed when the filter is washed or rinsed with water.
Clean the clear bin with a damp cloth only. Do not use detergents, polishes or air fresheners to clean the clear bin. Do not put the clear bin in a dishwasher.
Give it a break

By letting the battery run down to empty at least once a month, you`ll help to prolong its life.

The DC07 had a long production run from 2001 until 2008, and came in many different colour combinations.
Dyson DC07™ Upright vacuum cleaner (Clutchless)
Description. The Dyson DC07 Animal has been designed specifically with pet owners in mind. It comes complete with a HEPA filter, a 3.5 litre bag capacity and a clutch that makes it perfect for all floor types.
I would not use with filter off. This must be a feature of the newer models. This one blows air even with the filter removed. The suction is reduced by a considerable amount.
We engineer vacuums that are simple to use and easy to look after. We suggest you clean your filter at least once a month to keep your machine running at maximum efficiency.
We recommend replacing your air purifier filter every 12 months. That`s because over time, filters can get clogged with pollutants, and even let unpleasant odors back into the room.
Can you clean a HEPA filter? If your HEPA filter is not specifically labeled as washable or “permanent,” then the answer is no – while it may still filter the air it will have reduced effectiveness after washing.
Filters in Dyson air purifiers have been designed to last up to a full year, based on 12 hours of daily use. However, the filter may need replacing earlier depending on environmental conditions. If you live in a highly polluted city, you may find it needs changing sooner.
Don`t be tempted to reuse vacuum cleaner bags. Your motives may be pure, but your air won`t be, and your vacuum cleaner may bite the dust (pun intended) years before its time.
Rather than waiting for the canister to fill up all the way, the Vacuum Experts suggest you empty it after every use. If that`s not feasible, “empty the vacuum once it reaches half to two-thirds of the way full as a matter of habit,” the Vacuum Experts blog post recommends.
4 Ensure the bin is completely dry before replacing. PLEASE NOTE: 4 Do not use detergents, polishes or air fresheners to clean the bin. 4 Do not put the bin in a dishwasher.
Vacuum cleaners can be recycled at your local Household Waste Recycling Centre. ELECTRICAL FACTS: Most electrical items are recyclable and some need to be disposed of safely. Please remove batteries from items before recycling.
A Dyson vacuum cleaner has a lifespan of around 10 years. This is considerably longer than most other vacuums. So, if you`re looking for a high-quality vacuum cleaner that will last you for a long time, a Dyson could be a good choice.
Safe management system. Our unique battery-saving trigger helps maximize run time – only using power when you need it. It ensures the battery does not overheat or overcharge and catch fire.
Suction power: Air watts are key to picking up as much of the visible and invisible dust from surfaces. Dyson vacuums are powered with a Hyperdymium™ motor, increasing that suction power efficiently.
Purify indoor air

These machines are engineered with technology that traps dust before it settles on your furniture and floors. Dyson purifiers capture 99.95% of dust and ultrafine particles.

On the DC07, the entire cyclone assembly must be removed to empty the dust, debris, etc. collected when vacuuming. On the top of the cyclone is a “trigger” that you lift with your finger to release the bottom catch, which allows a clear flap to open on the “clear bin,” thus letting all the debris fall out. My problem is when you lift the finger trigger, it does not release the catch on the bottom. Since the catch won’t release, I cannot remove the entire clear bin either from the cyclone.Any sug
ANSWER : Beofre you go to the extent of buying a replacement canister, you can remove the top and using a straightened coat hanger type thing open that bottom lid. Then maybe you can clean the rim and possibly add some silicone spry to loosen things up. Here’s how to get inside In this order: 1) Remove the canister 2) remove the three star screws at the top of the canister. It’ll take a bit of pressure to pull the top up, there’s a rubber seal. When you pull it up there will be a rod running down into the canister, leave it be, just pull up the top high enough to clear out any debris. 3) Use a straightened coat hanger and with a flashlight to guide you, reach down with it and push it into that hole down at the bottom center of the canister. That will pop the lid open. Clean the canister & lid rims, maybe add some silicone. At this point you might as well clean the canister too. OPTIONAL-> ***leave the bottom lid open*** and follow the rest of these steps 4) Put the top back on aligning the screws, when you lower it make sure the bottom of the rod engages with the hole at the bottom center of the canister, this is why you left the bottom lid open. Put the three star screws back in. 4) Turn the canister upside down, lid open, and keeping in mind this is thin plastic, gently tug upwards on the four fins that surround the bottom rubber seal. This part is held in by friction, so work your way around the four fins gently pulling until you work the ring they’re connected to free. This will give you access to the inside of the canister. 5) remove the round perforated section by tugging upwards on it, set it aside with the fin part. 6) Take the canister to a laundry tub or large sink and holding it bottom up fill it with hot/warm water. Grasping the center section shake it vigorously and turn it upside down while shaking and a bunch of sh*t will come out. Repeat several times. 7) Dry thoroughly, you might use a hairdryer held to the center tube, but only if you can switch off the heat and use air only. Make sure its 200% dry, water will kill your machine 8) clean and replace the round perforated section 9) replace the fin section, I’d suggest pulling the round rubber part off of the fin part and setting it in place on the canister first, then follow with the plastic fin part. If you don’t do it this way the rubber won’t seat properly and the bottom lid won’t close. 10) Close the lid, replace the canister, and staaaaaart suckin like it’s brand new.

ANSWER : Hi,

The water reservoir lifts out. There are two tabs on the side which lock it in place. You may have to pres on them to remove it. If you are wanting to completely empty the entire machine, I have found an instruction manual and have instructions for purging: Fill reservoir with clean water and replace on machine with lid on it. Raise and lower handle without K cup inserted. Wait for the red light next to “heating goes off.
The blue lights on the control center will begin flashing. Put a cup on the drip tray and press “Brew”

When finished, repeat brew procedure 2 or 3 times and inner tank should be empty.

Hope this helps, if it does, please place a vote for me.

Emptying cylinder Have just acquired Dyson DC07 Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum without instructions. How do I remove the cylinder to empty it?
ANSWER : I hope you’ve found out by now, but, in case you haven’t, the latch to remove the canister is right by the handle on top of it, just don’t lift until you release the latch with your thumb, it’s got a safety to keep you from hitting the release when you’re using that handle to carry the vacuum.  (good engineering).

you can download a manual from the dyson site, here:
