One pack, each pack contains Twelve Cone Filters and Two Motor Guards.
You are supposed to replace the charcoal every six months and the main paper filter each month. However the cost of them you will want to blow the paper one off each time and make it last as long as possible.
4-Inch vs 1-Inch Furnace Filters

The 4-inch thick air filter has a definite advantage over the 1” filter in terms of longevity, airflow and maximum filtering potential. Thus, if it fits your furnace, then a 4-inch air filter is better than a 1-inch air filter in regards to improving air quality.

Rinse the filter

Any fine dust remaining in the filter can usually be removed with a gentle rinse under a cold tap – hold the filter under the running water until the water runs clear. You shouldn`t need to use any detergent – just water.

HEPA filters are not designed to be washed and reused. Doing so will cause damage to the fibers which makes the filter ineffective and it will become void of its job. Once a filter has reached the maximum capacity of harmful particles, it will need to be replaced with a fresh, new one.
One of the most straightforward pieces of maintenance you can do at home is replace your car`s air filter. It`s also a great way to improve your fuel economy. All you`ll need for this job is a screwdriver, a fresh air filter and rag to wipe your hands off before you pat yourself on the back.
Thicker air filters tend to last longer because they have more square footage to capture and hold air particles. To put it in perspective, a 1-inch air filter may need to be changed every month whereas a 4-inch air filter could last up to six months.
If you get a filter with pleats that are too thick, your filter could get dirty quickly. Thus, making your AC unit work harder than it needs to. A good benchmark to follow when considering MERV ratings is that if it`s more than 13, the pleats are most likely too thick for your filter.
Do not use vacuum filtration to filter a solid from a liquid if it is the liquid that you want, and if the liquid is low boiling. Any solvent which boils at about 125 degrees or lower will boil off under the reduced pressure in the vacuum flask. To perform a vacuum filtration, clamp the flask securely to a ring stand.
Can I soak my filter in vinegar? If you are cleaning a foam filter, you can add a few drops of vinegar to the water you are cleaning it with. However, if you are cleaning a cartridge or HEPA vacuum filter, do not use vinegar.
If the filter isn`t clean, it can impact the performance of the vacuum. Dirty vacuum filters can restrict airflow so the suction won`t be as strong.
Soapy water and a rag will do the trick. There`s no substitute for time. After cleaning the air filter with kerosene or a filter-specific application, let it dry naturally. Following that step, be sure to wash the filter with soap and warm water.
Almost all disposable oil filters will get clogged before they make it to the second change. They`re meant to be used only once. Reusing a disposable oil filter from the previous oil change may cause a lot of damage.
They recommend that you clean the filters every three months, but that number increases if you vacuum frequently. You will know it`s time to clean your vacuum`s filters when it`s not working effectively. For example, you may need to vacuum the same area multiple times for crumbs and debris to be picked up.
A good rule of thumb is to replace the main filter every 3 to 5 years or when you see vacuum performance drop to an unacceptable level.
If you don`t change your air filter, it can quickly become clogged with dust and debris, preventing proper air filtration. This leads to a variety of issues for your HVAC system including system inefficiency, higher energy bills, inadequate air quality, and ultimately failure.
A clean air filter is off-white in color and will have no dirt or debris caught in its folds. A dirty air filter, on the other hand, will appear gray or brown in color and you`ll likely be able to see dirt trapped between the layers of fabric.
Run two to four gallons of water through the new filter. This helps prevent your water dispenser from sputtering and clears impurities left over from manufacturing.
The water should first go through a sediment water filter to reduce sand, dirt, rust, and other sediment. You want to have the water go through a sediment filter first so it does not clog up the carbon filter, which is more expensive. The sediment filter will prolong and protect the carbon filter.
Smoother (Smoothing Filter):

Linear filters reduce the power of higher frequencies in the spectrum and preserve the power of lower frequencies.

The filters don`t need to fit with an “air tight” seal, but you should be able to easily install and uninstall your filter without a struggle, plus the filter shouldn`t be so small that it moves freely within your unit.
The smaller the micron number the better. Try imagining microns like a sieve. A 5 micron water filter will sieve out particles that you can see – but all the other smaller particles will pass through it into your drinking water. By contrast a 1 micron filter will remove particles not visible to the naked eye.
In industrial applications, standard general-purpose filters are rated to handle particulates 40 microns or 5 microns in size. Depending on the industry and application, other sizes can include 20, 25 and 75 micron filters. Higher-efficiency filters are also available to remove even smaller particles—1 micron or less.

Power head attachment works great when plugged into the hose part of the vacuum. The problem is when I attach it to the tube for normal use there is no power. I have checked all the connections and switched the power switch on and off still no power from tube to power head.
Is there anything else I can try? Model Callisto
ANSWER : Try having someone turn the machine on and off while you pull the cord in and out with the cord more angled towards the on/off switch. Sometimes these models have a break in the cord rewind and will not put the power through to the motor.

Keep in mind this is repairable, and if the unit is less than 5 years old it should still be under warranty.

Good luck .

My Hoover Windtunnel Mach 6.9 brush roller quit working. Upon investigating I found that the idler arm pulley was broken so I managed to replace that. Before putting the cover back on I see the control knob for the roller brush moves a plastic piece left or right to activate/deactivate the brush roller. I don't know where this plastic piece connects. It appears to me that the idler are when raised creates tension on the belt which drives the roller. I'm at a loss trying to figure ou

Lately, my Kirby Ultimate G has been acting funny. When I push it forward, it’s fine, but when I pull it backward on the carpet, the light on the front flickers and the power flutters off an on. I thought it might be the rollers, so tonight I turned the machine over and pulled out the hair that was wrapped around the roller. However, that did not fix the problem.

I should probably backtrack a little bit. In the past, I have had problems with the vacuum running over its own power cord.

ANSWER : The cord will need to be replaced with a cord made for the machine, as it has a non-standard plug. The cord cover is held in place with a # 20 Torx screw. Remove the screw and push the cover gently from behind to unlatch it. The handle must also be removed, along with the switch “scuff” plate. To remove the rear plastic trim plate, remove the screw at the bottom rear, and the upper screw holding the cord to the motor shell. The upper screw is a # 15 Torx screw. To remove the trim piece, insert a flat screwdiver into the rectangular slot in it and pry it upward. Reverse this proceedure to install the new cord.

ANSWER : It could be the switch button that you push to turn it on (2031199), or the switch (2031243) could be the problem. If not those 2, then the cord could be bad or even the motor (2031214). I would check that switch button first.
