All you have to do is add water to the removable water tank and attach it to the mop, then plug it in and get ready to clean. Within just 30 seconds, you can start mopping by pressing the handle down which will emit steam from the bottom, through the pad.
How Steam Cleaners Work. Water is heated past the boiling point and forced out as pressurized steam through a nozzle, brush, or other attachment. The vapor loosens dirt and kills dust mites, mold, staph, and other allergens and harmful bacteria. No suction is required, since the high-heat moisture dries quickly.
Only fill the tank with water. Cleaning chemicals, scented perfumes, or even vinegar might damage the mop. If your model has a removable water tank, make sure it`s securely snapped back into place before you begin mopping.
To prolong the life of your steam mop, we recommend using distilled water in the tank. Make sure you only add water to the tank – chemicals or cleaning solutions (including vinegar) may damage the steam mop and could be unsafe. For best results, sweep or vacuum your floors prior to cleaning with your steam mop.
The Cleaning Nozzle is clogged
Calcium and other minerals may build up in the nozzle, so you may need to clean the nozzle in order to produce steam. To do this, either use the nozzle cleaner provided with the Steam Pocket Mop, or use a straightened-out paper clip.
Using the Shark Steam Mop is pretty straightforward. First, attach the mop pad to the mophead, then fill the reservoir with water using the filling flask. Once the steam mop is plugged in, it takes about 20 seconds for the steam to build up, and you`ll hear the mop hissing.
The Shark Floor Steamer, also known as the Euro-Pro Shark Steam Mop, is a device for cleaning tile, wood and other hard surface floors that uses heat to lift off stains. It can also be used on carpet with an extra attachment.
It is safe to use on many different types of flooring
The mop heats up fast and is easy to handle. I used this Shark steam mop on my ceramic kitchen floors, but it is also rated for use on sealed hardwood floors, marble, and stone tile.
Fill your mop`s reservoir with water, select your chosen setting, and wait around 30 seconds for your Shark® steam mop to reach temperature. You should then gently pass the cleaning pad of the Shark® Lift-Away™ unit over all the surfaces of your sofa.
Make sure you only add water to the tank – chemicals or cleaning solutions (including vinegar) may damage the steam mop and could be unsafe. For best results, sweep or vacuum your floors prior to cleaning with your steam mop. After use, unplug your steam mop and let it cool before removing the Dirt Grip pads.
Use the Shark garment steamer on your clothes, curtains and favorite fabrics to give them a polished look. You can also use it on delicate items like shirts that can`t be safely ironed. The portable garment steamer heats up almost instantly, so that you can begin steaming quickly.
Once you plug it in, it starts to heat up the water. To activate the steam, you have to pump the handle up and down. We usually started mopping instead of doing the 10 to 15 pumps because with your natural mopping motion you will pump the Shark Steam Mop each time you go forward.

The steam mop was only used 3 times.stopped working. It has now stopped working altogether. I have only had it for a month. I did not save the receipt because after the third time working I thought it was okay. I am very disappointed and have a hand shop vac of Sharks which has been working for a year. I have been discouraged from buying another one of your products now that the steam mop has quit working after 3 times. I followed the exact instructions how to use it. Model S3101/ 120V 60HZ
Here is a tip that I wrote about the Euro-Pro Shark Steam Mop and why it maynot be getting steam to the head…

We have a dyson dc 07 animal the machine was working fine then switched off after returning to the machine minutes later it wouldnt switch on, i removed on off switch cover and used a short piece of wire across the brown wires flicked the wall switch and it worked, aha i thought faulty switch aquired a new one to no avail and now even the short piece of wire trick doesnt work, has the motor died do you think, it wasnt over heating or making strange noises prior to refusing to work
It could be the motor. I’m having to replace the brushes on my DC 05. It appears that you can only get brushes for the YDK motors in the DYSON, not the Panasonic motor. Which might be saying something about the YDK motors. What happens is that the carbon brushes wear down which is normal. However, the contact wire from the brush to its connector is set so that when the brush wears down, the wire is short enough to stop the spring etc from damaging the commutator. The end result is that you get an intermittent operation of the motor before it finally dies.
.I believe all the DYSONs come with the option of both motors and you cannot really tell which motor you have until you take the thing to bits. You also cannot change motors without changing various other parts on the hoover. On my DC 05 the writing on the YDK motor tells you which one it is.
.This website www. tasweb.org ,select the DC 05 option and scroll down tells you how to take the thing to bits. A search on google etc for your DC 07 may give similar results. Best of luck!
I have a 2 fluorescent light fixture in my bathroom. The right side light quit working. I took the starter out of the left side and put it in the right and it worked. Starter, right? I bought a package of 2 Leviton starters FS 2 15w. They didn’t work. Thinking bad, I returned it for another package. Still not working. The original starter is a Sylvania FS 2. Is it possible to have FOUR bad “new” starters? Do I need to replace it with the EXACT same starter? This light fixture is 38 years old. No
It is not likely that you had 4 bad starters.I assume you have more modern lights in it too(not 30 yrs old). Here is a link to Sylvania. It may be just that it requires certain something(who knows what)that only Sylvania has.It seems strange because they are all basically the same and a generic one seems like it would work.I also googled flourescent light starters and under one that talked about operation,it did refer to some older models. But like I said,it probably has newer lights so who knows what the heck.Well, here you go.You may also just want to call Sylvania and ask where you can find a replacement instead of paying $5 to ship $2 worth of parts.
.Good luck! Greg
Water and cleaner not coming out, The machine is only 6m old and was working fine, I have cleaned every where I can to see if there was a blockage but nothing is working. The heater is working, there is a suction but the water and soap will not realease when triger is pulled. it will not work on on the tool spay.
Check the complede length of the hose. You may find a crimp in the most inconvenient place. You say you cleaned everything … can you blow through the hose where the cleaner comes out? (don’t drink anything!)
How can I get my DAB radio working again?
I have a Sony XDRS100CD with DAB radio. The DAB radio has stopped working although I can still use the CD and get FM radio. The unit has a readout on the front that usually shows the time and this stopped working too, presumably because it got the time via the DAB radio.
The unit works from mains and batteries although I have only ever used it on mains.
The problem has been getting worse. It works, then cuts off. Then works and cuts off. Making sure the canister is not full. Time b/w it working is getting longer and longer. Almost seems this time when I change the outlet it is plugged into it works. But then shuts off quicker than it was doing before. I’m getting very frustrated.
We had exactly the same problem with our Animal. After the motor was replaced under warranty a different engineer came out and diagnosed it as the cyclone chamber itself being clogged.(the bit with the purple cylinders on it). This is completely unserviceable and it too was replaced under warranty – along with a second motor! Not the answer you wanted I’m sure but you’re wasting your time looking for a problem elsewhere. Ultimately the motor is pulling through a clogged chamber and you will burn it out! Hope this helps…
I have only had my shark steam mop for about a month and only used it twice. I tried to use it yesterday and it would not work. The green light came on and it worked for maybe ten seconds, then it completely shut off. I tried switching outlets and draining the water but nothing worked. It still doesn’t work today either. What do you think is wrong? Does this product have a warranty?
Yes has warranty call Shark/europro.
Water is not being discharged. I have filled the reservoir that holds the carpet cleaner fluid And I have filled the water container. I know how to use the cleaner, it has always worked, But now, no water is being discharged to the carpet. I turn it on, squeeze the trigger, but nothing comes out. The wheel that is suppose to spin (to indicate that water is being discharged) is not spinning. Everything else works. I.e. the suction works, and the hand held accessories work.
That means that the pump belt is worn and it needs to be replaced. You can get a replacement belt and view the manual here:
