For best performance of your dirt devil vacuum, we recommend you to replace filters every 3 to 6 months.
Most manufacturers recommend you change your filter on average every 3-6 months. However, it is recommended to change your filter even earlier depending on usage and allergy care. Most newer vacuum models use more than one filter. Please refer to your manufacturer manual for further assistance on locating your filter.
The frequency will largely depend on the type of bike you have in the conditions in which you ride. If you ride a dirt bike on tracks and trails, many recommend replacing or cleaning your air filter after every ride.
Dirt Devil is here for you to get rid all of your dirt and dog hair before your friends get to the door. The brand has introduced numerous technologies and features to its products, such as cyclonic filtration, HEPA filters, and powerful motors.
Replace filter every 3 to 6 months.
If the device is not creating sufficient suction or powering on, the motor could be obstructed. Unscrew the screws from the side of the Dirt Devil Gator. Once removed, notice the motor device (the largest one) and inspect to ensure no dirt or debris is obstructing or damaging the motor or its fans!
A good rule of thumb is to replace the main filter every 3 to 5 years or when you see vacuum performance drop to an unacceptable level.

I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Typically the top filter of which is the sponge is washable but the HEPA filter is not, it can be brushed off and vacuum off with another vacuum, but the best filtration is to replace the HEPA filter and to wash the sponge filter, if the sponge filter get to bad then replace the sponge filter as well. Or, you can check with your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or to contact the manufacturer’s website and or phone #. Bad Motor I have purchased two of the Kenmore direct drive beltless systems with Progressive systems. The first died after a year, the vacuum motor start making a grinding noies. I pulled the side HEPA filter and could see a fine coating of graphite like dust. Took it to a vacuum repair shop. They said the brushes were going and thus the motor was shot. I liked the vacuum and bought a second, 1 year later the motor is making a slight noise that and removing the HEPA filter I find a slight metall
That dust is from the carbon brushes on the motor. You may need to check them, and also clean out the motor compartment. A slight noise could be a motor bearing starting to go. Does the smell like rubber or electrical. If rubber, then the belt has stretched and needs to replaced. If electrical, then something is causing the motor to run hot, like a clogged filter, or it could be a motor going bad.
When I sart to run my bagless vacuum, it runs for a second and then shuts off. I replaced the belt and the filter. The repairman told me that on bagless vaccuums, the motor and bearings get clogged w
Take the brush roller off and on the ends are the bearing caps.try to take those off and clean the bearings ,carpet strands and hair will cause that.after you do that make sure the roller turns freely if not then the bearings might be bad and if thats the case you might have to order a new brush rollersome bearing caps unscrew and others pull off
Dirt Devil Vision bagless not working
Make sure your brush roller is turning.unplug the vacuum and see if you can turn the brush roller by hand.if it turns real freely then your belt is more than likely broke
Bissell PowerForce Turbo: The motor spindle becomes very hot while spinning, causing the new belt to burn and break. Is this because the motor is overheating?
Something is preventing the brush roller from turning even though it seeems to be OK when not in contact with the floor. The motor shaft is spinning on one spot of the belt, causing the heating, the smell, and eventual belt failure. I have had brush rollers that appeared OK but proved to have pet hair jammed between the end caps and the roller itself causing rotation to be very difficult
My vax power 8, 2200 watts 300 air watts 4L capacity upright Hoover is brand new, I emptied out the dust/dirt collecter and cleaned the motor filter yesterday for the first time, i switched it on and all fine, the brush is spinning and the hose is sucking, put the Hoover to work it’s fine for about 30 seconds then then suction stops and its dead it won’t collect no more, so switched off taken apart again and the motor filter is blocked and full of dust, so I unblocked it, do the same process aga
I had the same problem. It looks like the seal on the lid on the bottom of the cylinder has fallen out when it was emptied. There is no longer a proper vacuum being created so you don’t get the cyclone effect and the dirt doesn’t collect where its supposed to. it just clogs up the filter. I put sellotape to seal the lid and it works fine.
