I need to change the motor in a vax 6131 but i don’t know how to get into it to get the change it?

ANSWER : On the handle there is one small pozidrive screw, remove and orange panel comes away revealing powercable securing bar. Remove 2 screws and this reveals a 10mm headed bolt. Under label on top of handle there is another small pozzi screw, undo this and the handle cover can be removed revealing the other 10mm bolt which needs to be removed. The upper orange cowl can now be eased upwards and if you note where the 2 switches are located, they can be eased from the handle area by depressing the switch locating clips. This allows the upper cover to be put to one side with the power cable still threaded through. DO NOT REMOVE any of the connectors from the connections otherwise you might need a competent electrician to help you. At this point there are 3 similar 10mm bolts which, when removed, allow the bottom black plastic ‘ring’ to be removed from the orange plastic with the motor attached. You then should be able to replace the required..—————————————–.—————————–.To disassemble a vax you first remove 2 screws holding the handle cover. One is just above where the power flex enters the handle, the other is at the mid-point of the top, hidden under the label. Both are small crosshead screws. Before doing attempting this, you need to be competent with working on mains electric wiring, as some of this has to be removed to do all this.
Once the handle covers are removed, the next bit is to gently lever off the speed control knob – it’s a tight friction fit, then undo the nut holding it to the handle cover panel. After this undo the mains power connections from the multi-block joiner they go into then remove the 2 screws securing the mains wire. Then undo 2 bolts at each end of the handle going downwards into the main body. At this point the handle can be removed as well as the top body plate. You have to fiddle the electrics and switches through the hole in the top body plate to remove it. Now 3 bolts and a small crosshead screw is all that holds the upper motor section to the lower. Remove these and you can separate the 2 halves which gives you acess to the water pump. This is held in by screws founf underneath the plastic ring at the base of the motor body (around where the small reound blue sponge filter goes). This ring is held in by plastic springy clips. Gently lever round it to get it come off.

How to change carbon brushes in Vax 2000
ANSWER : Bend back the three tabs and cut off the contact wire as close to the top tab as possible. You can then pull the brush (or what is left of it) out. The new brushes have a brass plate the same size as the brush opening. The connection wire that you cut away on the original brush is attached to this plate so you don’t have to solder the connection. Push the new brush into the holder (you might have to file the carbon slightly to get it in). Then you have to compress the spring so that it all fits into the brush holder (this is difficult) once this is in keep the sping compressed with a small screw driver or other small tool, and bend the three tabs back over the brass plate to hold it in place. This is tricky but can be done.

I have a Roomba 560 (it’s still in warranty !!) and, after my summer vacation, it has a problem.
When I’m charging Roomba, the orange light blinks (and this is normal!) but this orange blinking continues forever…. the light doesn’t change to green.

ANSWER : The problem is not with the charger itself but it is with the battery inside the Roomba. It sunds like one or more of the cells has gone bad so its not holding the same charge as it did. I would recomend sending it in while the warranty is still valid so they will replace it. Your charger and the Roomba itself should be fine.

Only charge the battery when it is drained all the way to zero. It will help keep the battery active.

Vax 2300 vax v-2300 brush is not turning so changed belt snapped as soon as i put hoover on and getting burning smell put another belt on same again and brushes still not moving only 4 months old
ANSWER : If the roller brush cannot be rotated easily by hand, it is likely that debris is jammed inside the end caps.Make note of the direction arrows on the end caps as you remove the roller brush. You will need to know this for reinstallation. The end caps are fastened with stop nuts. Removal of one will allow the inner shaft to be extracted for examination and cleaning. An old toothbrush is a good cleaning tool. Reinstall the inner shaft and stop nut. Check for free rotation of the brush roller. Place a new belt over the brush roller and reinstall the brush roller, being careful to observe the position of the arrows on the end caps. Inspect the motor shaft and remove any old belt residue before installing the new belt on the shaft.

My electrolux oxygen cannister has the “bag change” light on when there is a new bag. The light stays on when the suction power is high (to pick up small particles) and it won’t pick up, but the ight goes off when the suction power is low (to pick up big objects). I changed the hepa filter, cleaned the motor filter and changed bags, but all that didn’t help.
ANSWER : You may have a clog in the hose, and/or the inlet by the brush roll. A clog will turn on that light as well as a full bag.

Sudden loss of suction. Using a dirt devil upright. Checked the belts that were changed recently and working. Changed the half full bag. No change. Checked for blockages and as far as I can see there are none. The blower is working as much as it ever was I think but I;m stumped.
