How to Identify and Fix Common Vacuum Problems ?

Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced Vacuum Technicians :

Jef is a “Stitch Data” file and is the default format for all Janome/Elna embroidery machines.
jan file is the file that contains the embroidery`s object properties. There is a “slot” for each object, so if there are 15 objects in an embroidery design, there will be 15 “slots” in the . jan file. It is the file format that is used while the embroidery is in its interim state.
Janome embroidery machines use JEF.
Please note that this machine uses an ATA PC card and does not have a USB port.
The ideal file formats are either Adobe Illustrator files (ai, eps, pdf) or high resolution Adobe Photoshop files (psd, eps, tiff, jpg).
Insert the USB stick or ATA card into your embroidery machine. Touch MODE/SET then touch the next page icon until you see the word FORMAT. Touch the YES key next to ATA card, the message “all stored data will be erased” will display, touch OK. The machine will beep when formatting is completed.
The most common machine file format is . dst. This works for virtually any embroidery machine.
Machine embroidery file formats are specific to different brands of embroidery machines. Examples include JEF, PES, HUS, and XXX for Janome, Brother, Husqvarna, and Singer, respectively. Machine files are less information-rich than native files as they don`t contain object information.
Janome Sewing Machine Co. Ltd was founded in 1921 as Japan`s first domestic sewing machine manufacturer. It was founded by Yosaku Ose as the `Pine Sewing Machine Factory` with Shigeru Kamematsu and Shoichi Tobimatsu in Takinogwa, Japan.
While embroidery is practiced across the world, its origin stems from China and the Near East. Early embroidery can actually be traced back to Cro-Magnon days or 30,000 B.C. Archeological finds from this time period reveals fossilized remains of heavily hand-stitched and decorated clothing.
Changing the device file system format won`t require formatting and keeping all valuable device content intact. If you need to convert a storage device such as an external hard drive or USB drive to NTFS, insert it into your PC first. All Windows users can execute this task with the following steps: Step 1.
Click Start and then click “My Computer.” 3. In the “My Computer” window, right-click on the drive icon in which the USB device appears. 4. From the menu, click “Format….” 5.
All SCHMETZ needles are compatible but the most popular needles that work with Janome Sewing Machines are Universal, Quilting, Microtex, & Embroidery.
The first thing to know is that sewing machines needles are standardised. They are compatible across the range of brands, including Janome, Brother, Husqvarna, Elna, Pfaff etc.
Download and install the latest version of Filestar. Right click on one or more Jpeg file(s) on your desktop and select Convert with Filestar. Type convert to jef in the search box. Press Convert.
JPGs do not support transparent backgrounds. Therefore, if you want to remove the background of an image prior to converting it to an embroidery file, you will ultimately need to save it as either a GIF or a PNG file. (More details re: removing the background of an image below).
What File Types are Best for Embroidery? High-resolution JPEG – This file type is a great choice for logos with several different colors and shades. It is also a straightforward option for customers with minimal technical understanding. High-resolution PDF – PDFs are wonderful computer file options for logo embroidery.
To Reset Motor: While holding down the Forward & Bobbin Winder buttons, turn on the machine. A new screen will show. Press the button called “Clear”.
What are the best embroidery stitches for letters? There are 3 embroidery stitches commonly used for embroidering letters. Those are back stitch, chain stitch, and stem stitch. Back stitch is an easy stitch to embroider script and printed fonts.
For most embroidery projects on average-weight fabric, a 75/11 needle works great. For heavier cottons and linens, you might go up to an 80/12 size, and for heavy denims and fleeces you might use a 90/14 needle. Please note that the thinner your thread, the smaller the needle should be.
1) All text should be a minimum of 3/16″ tall to look OK and ¼” to look great! You also want the width of the stitch to be a minimum of 1/16″ wide. 4) Shadows and blending are difficult to reproduce with embroidery but can be done very well in larger areas of fill.
The Weight of the Fabric

Having played around with different weights of the above natural fabrics I prefer a medium weight fabric for hand embroidery. In terms of the gsm number, this is usually around 150-200gsm.

A digital embroidery pattern is a file you download from the website as a PDF (Portable Document Format) file type.
There are many types of embroidery. The three most common and popular types are crewel embroidery, cross-stitch embroidery, and surface embroidery.

.I have this machine. I use it for my heavy sewing, as it will go through anything. I would be happy to copy the manual and send it to you for copy costs. Just let me know. I would love to know what knowledge you have gained about this machine. It does not appear to be an easy machine to find info on, may not have produced a lot? I had no idea it was not a European produced machine.

Hi. I have Dyson dc08 hepq+. Thet problem is its not having suction .I checked inside the pipe and foot , ery thing is fine. And if i take the whole dirtbin out …machine workes fine. when i put ery thing back ….as soon as i start it , after 2 second machine change its voice…and loos suction. I think its just happen because …the saftey yellow valve inside the machine turns up because the dirt drum is blocked inside some where. Any suggstion …what can i do with it. I m tahnkful in avance
ANSWER : Hi its Darran at Dyson.

From your description of the problem, it sounds as though the bin inner is missing. To confirm this, if you remove the cyclone and bin from the machine, then separate the 2 pieces as if you were going to empty it, when you look at the bin assembly, there should be a circular coloured piece of plastic in the base of the bin. This plastci piece should have a large black/grey rubber seal around the top. If this part is missing, the dust and debris will not collect in the bin, instead it will collect on the filter.

If you find that this is the problem, you can purchase a replacement bin assembly (including the bin inner) from our website at www.dyson.com.

If this is not the problem and the machine is correctly assembled with no blockages and a clean pre filter, please contact our Helpline on 0800 298 0298 (UK) or 1866MYDYSON (US) for further assistance.

Kind regards
Darran

Our beautiful Bernina 730 sewing machine has been stored in the garage in its original case, and that wrapped in plastic, for a few years now. Temperatures have been both hot and cold in the garage, but the environment was dust-free.

We have brought the Bernina in, set it up, oiled it as specified in the manual, with the original sewing machine oil. We have correctly threaded the machine and the bobbin thread is up.

When we press on the pedal to sew, the machine gets electricity and buzzes

ANSWER : Hello and thank you for using Fixya ….
From what you describe there can be only 2 causes…Either the machine is still stuck ..and the motor buzzes cause it can not spin it ..and in this case it needs to be oiled more..and be spun by hand until it moves well and free…and after that it will work ..or during the storage ..from condense or so ..the motor is stuck ..and needs to be checked…In this second case ..it probably need to be oiled too (the motor ) ..and the coils changed..
Have a nice day ..!

Electrolux Epic Series 6500 SR. The machine is 15 yr. old & is working beautifully. However, when operating it emits a terrible stink, like cat *****. I’ve changed bags & filters but no ch
ANSWER : You need to have the vacuum cleaned out. If you are good with tools, just remove the motor and fans assembly, take the fans off and wash them. Brush ALL dirt out of the housing and reassemble. Your Electrolux dealer can do this but it isn’t cheap. I used to be the service manager for my area. Since it isn’t under warranty, you can have ANY reliable vacuum cleaner shop give a good cleanout. NEVER put anything into the cleaner to make it smell good. Electrolux cleaners get their power by having a straight through suction. The air goes through the motor. Adding smelly things can crystallize onto the motor and burn it out.
