Wash filters in cold water only

(don`t use detergent or wash in a dishwasher or washing machine). Rinsing under the water supply then gently squeezing the water out of the filter.

Dyson cordless vacuum filters are engineered to capture microscopic particles. Over time, these can build up in the filter and reduce performance. By washing it at least once a month, you can help maintain suction power.
We suggest you clean your filter once a month to keep your machine running at maximum efficiency. Please see our Accessibility Statement for more information.
Rinse under a cold tap until the water runs clear – you don`t need any detergents. Leave to dry fully (at least 24 hours) before refitting.
Dyson purifier filters are made from glass media HEPA, which is easily damaged when cleaned, therefore the filter will need to be replaced. How often will the filter need to be replaced? The filter will need to be replaced roughly every 12 months, based on 12 hours of use per day.
In our opinion though, it`s definitely not a good idea to wash and reuse a HEPA filter. HEPA filters work by trapping small airborne particles from your room, if you disturb those particles by washing the filter, it`s most likely you will release them back into your environment.
Most Dyson filters are found near the cyclone. You can safely lift and remove the filter out for cleaning. They are typically colored purple so they can be spotted easily. Be aware that some Dyson upright vacuums will contain more than one filter.
Eventually, the filters will be clogged and the air flow going through the machine will be dramatically reduced. If no more air is going through the product, the air won`t be cleaned anymore.
Wash the filter with vinegar and water.

Let the filter soak for approximately one hour, then rinse with clean water. If the filter is too large to fit inside a sink or bucket, use a garden hose to wash it off, letting the water run through the filter in the opposite direction of the airflow.

Add a few drops of soap or detergent into a bowl of hot water. Submerge the filter and squeeze it so it absorbs the cleaning solution. If the water becomes dirty, empty the bowl and refill with more soapy water. Once the water runs clear after soaking the filter, take it out and rinse the suds away.
Use your vacuum cleaner`s hose with a nozzle or brush attachment to clean your non-washable HEPA filter. Run the attachment over the filter until you`ve removed all debris. Take care not to puncture the filter with the vacuum attachment.
If all your filter needs is a good cleaning, though, rinse it under warm water until it runs clear, then gently wring out the excess water and set it aside to dry. Finally, use the can of air duster to remove excess dust from inside the vacuum.
The cleaner head housing is not washable and should only be wiped over with a damp lint-free cloth. To maintain optimum performance, check and wash your brush bar regularly. Make sure your machine is disconnected from the charger and take care not to touch the trigger.
Remove the bin

Press the red button located on the bin runner to release the bin and slide the bin off the runner. Gently tap the side of the cyclone over a bin. This will remove any fine dust clogged up in the cyclone. Using the Combination tool, clean the shroud to remove any debris around the cyclone.

Wash the filter regularly

Rinse under a cold tap until the water runs clear – you don`t need any detergents. Squeeze out excess water and leave to dry on its side (at least 24 hours) before refitting.

Rinse the filter

Any fine dust remaining in the filter can usually be removed with a gentle rinse under a cold tap – hold the filter under the running water until the water runs clear. You shouldn`t need to use any detergent – just water.

Tip: If your air purifier has a carbon filter inside, remove odors by placing it in the sunlight for about two to three hours. Avoid getting carbon filters wet or attempting to clean them with a vacuum or compressed air.

.Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Typically the top filter of which is the sponge is washable but the HEPA filter is not, it can be brushed off and vacuum off with another vacuum, but the best filtration is to replace the HEPA filter and to wash the sponge filter, if the sponge filter get to bad then replace the sponge filter as well. Or, you can check with your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or to contact the manufacturer’s website and or phone #. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

I had used Dyson DC08 to **** out a wet car carpet. A few days later when using the V/C, there was a burning smell. Subsequently I washed the flexible hose, changed the pre-filter and post filter , but I wrongly put the pre-filter in the spot for the post filter. When the V/C was next used, there was again a burning smell and sparks. The filters were switched, but the V/C would not re-start.
What shall I do?

I have a Dyson Animal DC 28. It vacuums fine on floor mode, but, when locked in the upright position it releases pressure though the little valve behind filter a. I have only had it for 2 weeks so I’m hoping the filters don’t need to be cleaned this often! I would like to finish vacuuming without waiting 24hrs for the filters to dry.
ANSWER : Unfortunately with any bagless vacuum the filters do need to be cleaned or replaced very frequently for the vacuum to perform. But the good news is it sounds like you have a clog in the hose. remove the attachment hose as you would be using it and unclip it from the bottom of the vacuum. there is a plastic lever that will release it. use a broom stick or wooden dowel to remove the clog. Be careful not to puncture the hose while doing this.

Our problem with our Rainbow E Series is that it has sucked water up and blown it out through the lower part of the hepa filter, making the filter wet and dirty. This had happened before and the repair shop did not see any problems with the machine, so we replaced the filter and were very carful not to overfill the tank and to change the water often. Now it has happened again and ruined another filter. Do you know what could be causing this issue? Can the filter be cleaned or will a new one be

1. There is no reason to waste money on an EXPENSIVE replacement. While some people may like the fact that something that may be brand new may work better, this is not always the case.
.

2. You can easily set the filter out to try as long as there is NO WET ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS, if so, you will be facing electrical damage
.

3. Once you have performed a natural or sun dry on the old filter, ensure to check your unit for anything that may have caused the back clog.
.

4. Back clogs for your model are often times associated with a BUILD UP of dirt and HAIR. YOU may always use pressure air for example at a gas station to flush out the build up.
.

5. Other occasions, users accidently build the vac WRONG causing continual backup and water going where it is NOT suppose to go.

Roomba keeps saying clean brushes yet are clean!
ANSWER : Make sure you take off the little cap at the end (the one that spins — just grab it and pull it straight off) and clean under it too. The rest of the brush may look perfectly clean but what happens is that hair gets stuck under spinning cap and, like a slowly growing washer, it pushes the whole brush toward the gear box. When it gets pushed over enough, the large yellow ring starts to rub against the side of the brush deck making it harder for the motor to turn the brush and you get that “remove and clean brushes” message.

How do i get the filters out of my dyson dc 11
ANSWER : Hi there,

I’m sorry to hear your DC11 doesn’t seem to be picking up as well as usual. In normal use, the filter should be washed at least once every 3-6 months, as shown in the video below. Use cold water without detergent, and allow at least 12 hours for it to dry completely somewhere warm before replacing it.
