Euro-Pro Ultra Steam SharkTM II Hard Surface Steam Cleaner Vacuum

How to Identify and Fix Common Vacuum Problems ?

With the exception of a few models that have dual functions, steam mops are typically designed to be used with water and nothing else. The steam alone does a great job of cleaning the floor. Always read the manual on your mop model thoroughly for complete use guidelines.
What Should I Use? Good quality tap water. If you don`t have issues with hard water stains and buildup, your tap water is good.
Make sure you only add water to the tank – chemicals or cleaning solutions (including vinegar) may damage the steam mop and could be unsafe. For best results, sweep or vacuum your floors prior to cleaning with your steam mop. After use, unplug your steam mop and let it cool before removing the Dirt Grip pads.
To prolong the life of your steam mop, we recommend using distilled water in the tank. Make sure you only add water to the tank – chemicals or cleaning solutions (including vinegar) may damage the steam mop and could be unsafe. For best results, sweep or vacuum your floors prior to cleaning with your steam mop.
Fill the tank with water; if you live in an area with hard water, using distilled water in the steamer`s tank will yield a better result. Select the appropriate attachment for the task at hand, and affix it to the machine.
Fill the steam cleaner with hot water.

Only put as much water as the machine directs so that you don`t overfill the water tank.

The Cleaning Nozzle is clogged

Calcium and other minerals may build up in the nozzle, so you may need to clean the nozzle in order to produce steam. To do this, either use the nozzle cleaner provided with the Steam Pocket Mop, or use a straightened-out paper clip.

Shark Pocket will not make steam

Check that your water tank is full, if you find it is empty, add water. Also check that the tank is free of any cracks or holes that could cause water to leak, and that the tank is properly seated in the device`s housing.

To use the Shark steam mop, plug it in and wait 30 seconds for the water to heat up. There is no power button. To activate the steam, pump the handle about ten times or until you see and hear the steam.
Our testing has found that all steam mops remove stains fairly well, with marginal differences, and are likely slightly better than a regular mop and bucket due to the heat and vapour produced by the steam.
Water type to use

Therefore, to prolong the lifespan of your iron or steamer it is recommended to use distilled or demineralized water (50% demineralized water mixed with tap water could be used too).

Do: Wipe up excess dirt before steaming. Steam mops essentially employ steam to loosen grime, which the mop head then clears away, but there`s no suction element in this appliance. This means that surface dirt will need to be vacuumed or swept up before you begin or you`ll only succeed in pushing dirt across the house.
Fill a bucket with warm water (unless your floors are waxed; in this case, you should use tepid water) and a small amount of cleaner—generally, a squirt or two is sufficient. Using too much can leave behind a residue, which will make floors look dull.
The Shark Floor Steamer, also known as the Euro-Pro Shark Steam Mop, is a device for cleaning tile, wood and other hard surface floors that uses heat to lift off stains. It can also be used on carpet with an extra attachment.
It consists of five steps: 1) removing dry soil, 2) setting up for wet cleaning, 3) wet cleaning, 4) drying, and 5) take down and sign removal. Removing dry soil can be accomplished by sweeping, dust mopping, or vacuuming, depending on conditions and equipment available.
Many people think you need to mop with boiling water to thoroughly clean your floors. This, however, is a myth – rather than always giving you a better clean, the temperature of the water can actually have a negative effect.
Do not overfill the tank. Make sure that all components are connected correctly. Allow the water in the steamer to fully heat before attempting to use the steamer, especially after refilling during a long session. Never allow the tank to run dry while the steamer is in use to prevent damage to the heating element.
After you get out your carpet cleaner, fill the clean tank to the line with hot (not boiling) tap water. Hot water does a better job cleaning than cold but, if you boil it, you run the risk of melting parts of your carpet cleaner. Add formula to the tank according to the bottle directions.
Because you can use steam to clean virtually anything, you reduce the amount of germs, bacteria, pollutants, and allergens in the workplace. Since steam cleaning only uses water to disinfect a surface, you won`t have to use any chemical cleaners (like bleach or ammonia) to create a spotless, germ-free environment.
It`s safe to say the best way to clean a shower, according to BISSELL®, is to use a steam cleaner. It`s chemical-free and many of our innovative steam mops work as handheld cleaners, too.
A common cause to your cleaner not producing steam can be a failed heating element. As the heater is used to heat up the water, if that has ruptured or burnt out your steam cleaner will not produce any steam. With the water tank filled and switched on the steamer should sound like a boiling kettle.
How hot does it get? We used a hi-tech thermometer that registered the Shark`s steam at 217 degrees. We also tested on wood floors with no problems. “Does It Work?” We give the Shark Steam Mop a yes.
Residential units heat water up to temperatures between 150° and 300° Fahrenheit (66-149° Celsius). For example, Reliable steam cleaners typically have a steam tip temperature of 245° F. The hot steam kills dust mites, mold, mildew, viruses, and other allergens on contact as well as loosening most dirt and grime.

I purchased a brand new Eureka Pet vacuum, sorry don’t know exact name but it the one that has the self cleaning duster on it. Last night I used the vacuum on my carpet, it was working fine until I accidently sucked up the corner of a scarf that was hanging off a couch. I shut the vacuum off, pulled out the scarf and and resumed vacuuming. Much to my dismay the suction on the vacuum had ceased. Can you tell me if there is a reset button on the vacuum? The vacuum does not appear to be damage
ANSWER : If the motor is running, there should be suction. Possible problems depend on whether it’s a canister or upright and are:
.A clog in the hose, UR or canister. Detach hose. Drop small coin in one end and lift hose causing it to roll out the other. If it does, no clog in hose. Drop same coin into hose opening on power head. If it rolls out, no clog in PN.
.Broken fan blades, UR. Needs to be taken to shop for repair/replacement.
.
.A reset button is for use if the motor isn’t running, so won’t have anything to do with the suction.

My Europro shark steam mop won’t steam, light on but no steam.
ANSWER : Hard water deposits. I ran some white vinegar through mine, like a coffee maker, and it worked for a while, but clogged again. So I unplugged it, let it cool and turned it over in the bathtub and squirted a small amount of Lime-Away into the hole where the steam comes out. Let it soak for 5- 10 minutes and it is working like is is brand new.
