Compression Force

On average, a trash compactor uses anywhere from 2,000 to 5,000 pounds of force.

Generally speaking, a trash compactor functions with a large “ram” that compresses the trash down. The ram is a metal piece of that sits above the trash. The operator or user will load up the trash compactor with whatever applicable waste there is and once secured, will activate the ram and the compacting will begin.
A trash compactor crushes trash into very small, manageable pieces using a metal ram. These pieces are then transferred to a trash compactor bag. The bag can then be picked up by a waste management company or trash removal company, which will take it to the dump or a recycling center.
How Does a Chute Fed Compactor Work? The Compactor receives refuse from the chute via the hopper on top and directs it to the compaction chamber. A photoelectric sensor detects the refuse and initiates the compaction cycle.
Compaction technologies can generally be categorized by the degree of pressure applied to the wastes. Compaction performance is generally measured by the `volume reduction factor`, VRF, which is defined as the ratio of the volume prior to compaction compared to the volume of the waste after compaction.
They can move only forward, not backward, so maneuverability is limited. They generally exert a force between 3,000 and 5,000 pounds and are good for compacting smaller areas of dirt, gravel or asphalt.
Use proper lifting tech- niques. Bend at your knees and keep your back straight as you pick up or lower trash cans. Be sure not to place your hand at the bottom of the liner bag since there might be sharp points. Empty trash cans fre- quently to avoid accu- mulating heavy loads.
If your trash compactor is jammed, there may be a defective power nut causing the ram to be stuck in the down position. Power nuts, also known as trunnion nuts, are driven by power screws and attached to the sides of the ram.
A roll off octagon compactor is a piece of equipment, or container, that is used to store waste. These containers are ideal storage solutions for those who have a lot of waste, and, unlike other waste storage methods such as skips and waste bins, the waste is compacted.
A compactor is a machine or device designed to compress, reduce, and compact a variety of materials through the use of hydraulic, mechanical, or pneumatic force. The process of compacting reduces the volume of waste and its footprint, allowing a more convenient and economical method for removing it.

ANSWER : Could be the pump, but this model clogs up easily. You could try taking the noozles off and blow thru them to see if they are clogged or not. Other then that you may have to take it in for repair, It can be problem to find where it is clogged, if the noozles are ok that is. Unless you want to take it apart and try to find the problem yourself.
