How to Identify and Fix Common Vacuum Problems ?

Grab the mop pole with one hand, and use your other hand to grab the bottle and pull up to release from the mop itself. To avoid any pinching of fingers, grab right below the grey lid of the bottle itself, then pull up and the bottle will release from the mop.
If you cannot remove your mop`s head, fill a bucket with equal parts water and bleach. Then dunk your mop into the solution and let it sit for at least 15 minutes. After the soak, rinse the mop until the water runs clear to make sure to neutralize all the bleach.
Dirty mop water should be disposed of in a sanitary sewer system, which means dumping down a toilet is the best way. This is the same process a carpet cleaner is to dump their waste water.
Add Your Favorite Cleaning Solution

Just add 2 small teaspoons of cleaning solution to water in the bottle and you are ready to shine your floors.

The Vileda 1-2 Spray mop pad can be used on all hard floor surfaces and removes dirt and greasy marks with ease. The powerful microfibre in the pad helps remove over 99% of bacteria with just water*. The pad can be washed and reused so you can achieve a quick and easy clean without the need for disposable wipes.
If you can`t find an opening, try using the regular pliers to grip at the sprayer and wiggle back and forth to try to loosen it. Lift the crimping until you get to more than halfway around the bottle. By then, you should be able to just remove the sprayer revealing the lip of the bottle.
Check the Tube

Instead, it`s likely your spray bottle isn`t spraying properly because the tube has disconnected from the nozzle. To check this, poepping says to push down on the sprayer. If you can press down with ease, but the product isn`t coming out, it`s likely a disconnect with the tube.

Unlike the rubber bulb dispenser which primarily moved air with a small amount of fluid, modern spray bottles use a positive displacement pump that acts directly on the fluid. The pump draws liquid up a siphon tube from the bottom of the bottle and forces it through a nozzle.
To clean your mop bucket thoroughly, empty it out and rinse it with hot water. Add 500ml of white vinegar or bleach to the bucket and fill the rest with hot water. Let the solution sit for 15 minutes before emptying. Once you`ve poured out the cleaning solution, rinse the bucket with warm water and air dry.

I purchased a brand new Eureka Pet vacuum, sorry don’t know exact name but it the one that has the self cleaning duster on it. Last night I used the vacuum on my carpet, it was working fine until I accidently sucked up the corner of a scarf that was hanging off a couch. I shut the vacuum off, pulled out the scarf and and resumed vacuuming. Much to my dismay the suction on the vacuum had ceased. Can you tell me if there is a reset button on the vacuum? The vacuum does not appear to be damage
ANSWER : If the motor is running, there should be suction. Possible problems depend on whether it’s a canister or upright and are:
.A clog in the hose, UR or canister. Detach hose. Drop small coin in one end and lift hose causing it to roll out the other. If it does, no clog in hose. Drop same coin into hose opening on power head. If it rolls out, no clog in PN.
.Broken fan blades, UR. Needs to be taken to shop for repair/replacement.
.
.A reset button is for use if the motor isn’t running, so won’t have anything to do with the suction.

Dirt devil vacuum cleaner–trouble vacuuming dirt and pet hair on carpeting –is the problem with the spinning brush which contacts the floor,  not contacting the carpeting??  I thought (when I bought this vacuum) that the aforementioned brush was adjustable to various heights of carpeting.  Sometimes, it seems like nothing is being vacuumed up –unless I have just put a new bag on the vacuum… Do I need or can I replace the spinning brush on the bottom of the vacuum so it kicks up and vacuums

Vacuum smells I have a 6 year old rainbow vacuum model E and it smells terrible everytime I use it. Probably because often times i don’t remove the water basin after vacuuming and just let it sit. It’s my own fault however now I don’t know what to do to get rid of this terrible smell. I’ve water cleaned the hepa filter, not able to remove the separator screw to clean. Can you give me some suggestions?
ANSWER : In addition to vinegar, baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) is also an excellent remedy for many odour problems.

Try generously sprinkling baking soda on a rug you wish to clean, and afterwards, vacuum up the spot.

Rugs, and dirt may be broomed beforehand, and you may want to spread the soda over a large enough area to avoid having a small “clean spot”.

Repeat as necessary, and buy the bigger boxes of baking/washing soda. It has many more great uses that you can discover.

Unbeknownst to me, someone took the bag out of my Kenmore Progressive vacuum and failed to replace it. I have been vacuuming without a bag for months, and today the vacuum stopped sucking. When I opened up the front to replace the bag, tons of dirt and dust came pouring out. I thoroughly cleaned the vacuum, put in a new bag, but still no sucking power. Just dust coming from the rear vents where one of the filters is. Is the vacuum ruined, or is it a simple solution of buying a new filter?
ANSWER : Sounds like you need to buy a new motor. All that grit and dust will ruin a motor and I’m surprised it lasted as long as it did.
.This is where a vacuum that won’t run without a bag would have been nice. (Aerus for one)

It seems to be working fine with no smell. I checked the belt after I vacuumed the family room and although it was in tact, the belt was very hot. Is that normal? Should t
