How to Identify and Fix Common Vacuum Problems ?

Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced Vacuum Technicians :

The trimmer will be fully charged in 14 hours. If the trimmer has not been used for a month or longer, it is advisable to recharge it for 14-16 hours. To preserve the life of the batteries, discharge them by running the trimmer until the blades move slowly. Switch off and recharge for 14-16 hours.
Connect the cord to the shaver, then plug the charging adapter into the electrical outlet. A charging indicator light will come on. Your shaver cannot be overcharged, so you can leave it plugged in and charging between shaves.
Charging: LED light will pulse green to indicate the battery is taking charge. Full Charge: When fully charged the LED will light up green for 5 minutes and then turn off. Voltage Type: Worldwide Voltage – shaver automatically adapts to an outlet voltage between 100V and 240V.
Unplug and clean the charger then plug it back in. If that does not fix the discrepancy the charger may be broke and needs to be replaced. Try using a similar charger with the same specs and see if you get a charge that way. Do not exceed 5 volts if using another small electronics charger.
For most groomers, normal charging time is between 1 to 8 hours. If you are charging your device for the first time, we recommend letting it charge for at least 3 hours.
Most shavers take approximately 2 1⁄2 hours to fully recharge from a completely dead battery.
Plus, you`ll get up to 20 days of shaving between charges with the mens shavers electric cordless rechargeable battery that delivers 60 minutes of cordless runtime. The Remington F5 foil razor combines power and technology for a great shaving experience.
The green charging light blinks when the shaver is being charged or switched on. When the battery is fully charged, the green charging light shines permanently, provided the shaver is connected to an electrical outlet. Low-charge light (6) The red low-charge light flashes when the battery is running low.
Your OneBlade is fully charged when the light ring stops flashing and is solid white. The light ring will switch off approximately 30 minutes after your OneBlade is fully charged to save power. It takes approximately 1 hour for these devices to charge fully.
Check to see that your charger is connected properly to the vehicle charging port. Line up the notch in the charger plug with the notch in the charger port and plug into the charger port. Charge for a full 8 hours. If the battery still has not charged, you may need to replace it.
It is possible that your shaver does not turn on or move because it is dirty. There can be hair or dirt particles stuck inside it, causing the shaving heads to be blocked. To fix this problem, properly clean your shaver. If possible, remove the shaving head and clean your shaver from the inside as well.
Check if your charging adapter or cord is damaged.

Check your charging adapter and cord for signs of damage. If you notice any damage to your adapter or cord, stop using it immediately. Purchase a replacement in our online shop.

A: Lithium ion batteries are stressed by overcharging, so it is best not to leave them on the charger for extended periods of time.
Charge only when needed and never overcharge The Trimmer.
Heat causes some side reactions to speed up, leading to electrode wear. A complete charge/discharge cycle can still be performed once a month or so. This will help with re-calibrating the battery level indicator, but it`s not absolutely necessary. Just charge your shaver whenever you need to.
A: If you leave the charger connected continuously, even at a mere 2 amps, the battery eventually will die. Overcharging a battery causes excessive gassing — the electrolyte gets hot and both hydrogen and oxygen gas are generated.
Using a standard charger, it is generally safe to leave it on overnight. However, if you use an accelerated charger, leaving it unattended for extended periods is not recommended. This is because accelerated chargers generate more heat, potentially damaging the car battery or starting a fire.
It`s recommended by most brands that foils and blades should be changed every 12-18 months to continue the performance of your electric shaver. Some men might have coarser, thicker hair and if they`re shaving daily, they may need to change their foils and blades earlier than the recommended time.
THE DETAILS. Comfortable shaving has arrived with the REMINGTON® WETech™ 100% Waterproof Cordless Foil Shaver. The WETech™ waterproof design lets you shave in the shower and with gel or cream for maximum skin comfort.
As mentioned above, something that places the Remington Balder Pro in a world incomparable is the fact that it`s totally waterproof. You can use it in the shower or with shaving cream and water for a speedy wet shave you don`t really get too frequently with bald head shavers.
If the charger light stays green that indicates that the battery is fully charged, or that the charger port is not receiving Voltage from the battery pack, or that the battery is overdischarged and cannot be recharged.
Rapid blue flashing: Your trimmer is charging and you have less than 15 minutes of charge so far. Slow blue flashing: Your trimmer is charging and you have more than 15 minutes of charge. Solid blue: Your trimmer is now fully charged.
A flashing green light on a traffic signal means the signal is pedestrian activated.
Green usually means go, but flashing green means pull over or yield.

We have a Bissell Proheat Cleanshot 2X Model 9500 Steam carpet cleaner. The first time we used it things were great. The second time we used it it left tracks in the carpet. We have no idea what caused this. We tried using the machine on an entirely different carpet and it did the same thing. After vacuuming the carpet about 10 or 12 times, the tracks are still embedded in the carpet – HELP!!!! We’re read and reread the manual and contacted customer service and received no help.
ANSWER : First things first. It’s only the second time you have used the machine, so it must be fairly new. If you have a receipt and the unit is less than a year old you should take it to an authorized Bissell repair center and have the machine inspected under warranty.
.
.Otherwise, The jets on this unit clog easily, there are two of them and you can locate them under the recovery tank towards the front of the machine, and blow them out with an air compressor. To prevent the jets from clogging in the future make sure to flush all shampoo out of the machine with clean water when done using it. That is most likely your problem.
.
.If it is leaving black streaks on your carpet it could be coming from a burnt belt or melted brushroller part, in which case inspect the belts and brushrollers and replace the damaged pieces.

Hi. I have a Kirby from back in the early 90s (model G3D). Never had major issues with it. Can’t remember the last time I had maintenance/tune up done. It’s just sounding different when I run it the last few times…almost like it’s louder and kind of echo-ey. Still suctioning well, but something’s not right and I don’t want to run it until I know if anything’s up. Any suggestions? I’d like to try and figure this one out on my own with your help. Thanks in advance for your help. Marci
ANSWER : Check the belt. this is a strong vaccume and even without the belt it will still have a decent amount of suction. If the belt is not tight or intact it can let the motor turn faster which will sound louder. other than that check all the hoses for holes and blockage, be very picky.( look deep and everyware!
.good luck

For the first time, I tried using my Kirby Sentria shampoo attachment. I’ve lost the manual but found instructions online for making the swap from regular vac to shampoo-er and got it all assembled. The foam laid down just fine, however, when I run the vac back over the foam to pick it up, there is not a stitch of water showing up in the tray. First I thought maybe it was bc I hadn’t put that much of the foam/water onto the carpet, but 12 hours later, the carpet is still wet in spots. Clearly

Lost Suction This is my second hoover steamvac and i am having the same problem with my new one as i did with the old one that i tossed out. I have used it about 12 times and it worked great the first 6 times… Now i’ll empty a full tank of water and only half will get sucked back up. I have tried taking it apart and cleaning and also the rubber seal had some gaps so i sealed those thinking that it was leaking air from there…can anyone help? I am so close to chucking this one and buying somet
ANSWER : Usually when there is no suction, one cause is the lid to the recovery tank is not on all of the way in the back. Also if you have that foam filter on the underneath side of the recovery tank lid, it needs to have a 1/4 in or so gap from the top of the filter to the top of the lid. Some models also have a duct that sits in front of the recovery tank, and if it isn’t there, you have no suction.

My robot will not charge. Tried multiple resets and new battery from irobot.com (both suggested by Irobot customer service) but got nowhere. The vacuum did work for a short time (until the new partially charged battery ran out). If I bypass the internal charging circuits and charge directly from the charger (with jumpers)
the robot seems to work fine. Unfortunatey, there is no mechanism to turn off the charge cycle, so this is not practical.
ANSWER : Replace the battery charger

My Hoover SteamVac has been doing a wonderful job but in two instances, after emptying the dirty water and reattaching the reservoir, the machine has lost suction. The first time I was able to make it work again after taking it apart and putting it back together about 10 times. I don’t know what I did that fixed it but as long as it worked again, I was happy. But it’s happened again and I can’t get it to vacuum. I can see that it isn’t clogged. Can you please help me????
ANSWER : Look for the lower tank filter to be clean. also make sure the lower tank lid is on properly. latch when installed on machine. Make sure the front panel duct is on the lower tank.
