Your dirty water tank may not be secured tightly. Check the rubber tab on the dirty water tank and press firmly on all edges to secure it tightly. The accessory hose door also needs to be closed securely. Check the door and make sure it is locked in place.
A possible cause might be that the tank is not properly seated. To assure the tank is seated properly, pick it up and re-seat is so it sits snugly on the unit. If this doesn`t fix the problem, make sure the tank is assembled properly. To make sure they are both latched properly, pick the tank up by its handle.
Check to see if your clean water tank is empty. The clean water tank also may not be seated properly. The brush window could also not be latched into place. Turn off your machine and check to see if the brush window is secure.
Fill clean water tank with warm tap water. This machine uses HeatWave Technologyâ„¢ which helps maintain consistent water temperature throughout the cleaning process by redirecting the heat of the motor to help maintain the temperature of the water.
Inspect the vacuum hose for any small holes, kinks, or cracks. Any cracks or holes will decrease the amount of suction in the hose and will not allow the carpet extractor to properly remove liquid from the floor. The hose will need to be replaced if there is damage.

I have a Bissell Pro 2x carpet cleaner. The water heats properly as well as spraying the cleaning product. However, when I go to suction the water from the carpets, the 2 in 1 water tank bladder works properly but there is no dirty water outside the bladder. I have only used this carpet cleaner ~ 5 times and in the beginning I had to empty the suctioned water quite frequently as it was dirty and it could not not hold any more water. So I have done 1 room and all the dirt remains in the carpet

My Bissell Pro Heat Select 2X does not pull up the dirt from the carpet into the water. The water just slowly disappears. The first time I used it the water got really dirty. The very next time I used it it worked differently and the water just disappeared until it was all gone. I’ve only used it a couple times and I don’t see where it is working. Has anyone else had this problem?
ANSWER : Inside the plastic suction lid is a little red plastic filter that has to be cleaned out every time you use it because it sounds like your vaccum is not picking up all the hair and debri before you clean the carpet causing the water to be injected into the carpet and disappearing and not filling the tank with dirty water. Water is not being discharged. I have filled the reservoir that holds the carpet cleaner fluid And I have filled the water container. I know how to use the cleaner, it has always worked, But now, no water is being discharged to the carpet. I turn it on, squeeze the trigger, but nothing comes out. The wheel that is suppose to spin (to indicate that water is being discharged) is not spinning. Everything else works. I.e. the suction works, and the hand held accessories work.

ANSWER : First check the motor duct gasket. The motor duct gasket is visible once the tank is removed. It is located underneath the handle on the top of the base of the machine. It has a black rubber coating around it. If there is no suction there please let us know. If your machine does have suction at the duct, continue to check the following:
.
.- Ensure the Ready Tools Dial is set to the appropriate setting (Floor Cleaning or Hose Attachments).
– Remove the tank from the machine and ensure the tank lid is attached properly. The front window must first hook onto the lip of the bottom of the tank and then drape over the tank. Latch the bottom tank to the top tank lid. THIS LID CANNOT BE ATTACHED PROPERLY IF THE TANK IS NOT REMOVED FROM THE MACHINE.
– Make sure the Water Tank is not full on the outside of the bladder. If it is, empty the tank.
– Ensure the hose is firmly attached to the back of the machine. If not, re-insert as necessary by twisting into place.
– The machine must be in an upright, locked position and set to the Hose Attachment setting. If the handle is slightly tilted back while using, it will create a small gap at the suction inlet (where handle meets gasket, above the Bottom Tank) which will cause little or no suction.
– Check the red Tank Lint Screen for debris. If the Lint Screen is dirty, the unit will have poor suction. Clean the Lint Screen if necessary.
– If the float flap door in the tank lid is activating prematurely when you turn the machine on, this flap door should be replaced. This tank may need to be emptied.
– Check the Tank Lid and Tank for damage.

I have a Bissell Pro Heat 2X carpet cleaner, and it won’t dispense the water and soap. It’s only 2 years old, so certainly should still be working.
ANSWER : You need to check that the motor drive belt is OK and turning freely to drive the water pump – under the flap on the right side at the front as you look at the front of the Bissell. If this is OK have you filled the cleaning bottle with fluid etc? If so you may have an airlock in the pipe from the bottle to the motor. You can also have a blockage from the pump to the dispenser nozzles and can test this by taking off the top cover and taking the plastic tubes off them to see if water comes out of the tube. You can also do the same for the tube from the tank to the pump to see if water is getting to the pump OK. Also make sure that the mix valve setting (on the left side – looking from the front) is not turned to the off position. This could also be blocked and need cleaning or replacing.
.
.You can check the motor and EMI filter with an ohm meter – with the power turned off. Also with the power turned on you can measure the voltage on both sides of the EMI filter – it should be the same. Measure the voltage across the motor to make sure power is getting to it OK. Also check that the microswitch is working correctly by measuring the voltage at both terminals then trigger and release the switch to see that it cuts and restores the power.
.
.Also Check the following:
.
.Bladder may be empty.
SmartMix Bottle may be empty.
The Filter may be clogged.
Tanks may not be seated properly.
Pump may have lost prime.
The Pump Belt may be broken.

.2 front jets are blocked. This is a common problem. When the machine is standing for a while the detergent turns to a gel causing the blockage Lay the Bissell on its side then where the water comes out of the jets at the bottom of the machine unblock them using a pin to poke through the hole in the centre.

Try running hot water through the system with no detergent to empty out all the residual detergent. Keep running hot water through the system by pressing the button you press for it to spray the water do this for about 5 mins and keep swapping the water for hotter water as it starts to cool doing this 4 or 5 times might solve your problem if not get the tools out and start looking for the blockage. Do this once a month to ensure that the pipes and jets are kept clean and free of any detergent gel build up.
