How to Identify and Fix Common Vacuum Problems ?

Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced Vacuum Technicians :

Use a soft cloth to clean the disc ; the disc may have fingerprints or smudges. Examine the disc for any cracks or scratches that might be interfering with playback. Make sure the disc playback is not restricted by parental control options. Make sure the DVD disc is compatible with the player.
It may be dirty, scratched, or not compatible with the player. Try cleaning it if you see fingerprints, smudges or dust on the disc. If Sony DVD player gives you that message on all discs, it is a lens problem. Then, you need to try cleaning the laser lens inside the Sony DVD player with a cleaning disc.
Check to make sure that the unit is plugged in securely to the power source (outlet, or power strip). Press the Power on/ standby button on the front of the unit to turn the unit on. Reset the unit by unplugging it for one (1) minute. Then plug it back in to the power source and power the unit on.
Make sure the player is turned on. On the front of the player, press and hold the CONNECT and EJECT buttons at the same time until the EJECT button continuously blinks an amber light. When the amber light begins to blink on the EJECT button, release both buttons. NOTE: The player will turn off and restart.
Connect the DVD Player to the TV

First, determine which type of connection you`ll be making (HDMI cables, RCA cables, or AV component video cables). Once you`ve determined this, plug one end of the cable into the correct port on your TV and the other end into your DVD player.

A factory reset will usually do the job, and that can usually be accomplished without a remote. Find the model number of the DVD player, look up the manual, and see if it has a factory reset method.
Lightly dampen a soft cloth and wipe gently across the front, top and side of your machine to get rid of those pesky dust particles or that spillage. It`s really important not to clean the back of the player or any ports with the same damp cloth because of all the small electrical components.

Need instructions how to use Hoover Steam Vac Spin Scrub. I borrowed it from my Sister and she left it with no instruction book or letting me know how to operate it. I put water & cleaner in top tank. That’s all I know to do. Do I put any water in bottom tank? I figured not, since that is probably where the water goes when sucked up by vac. Do I leave lid on bottom tank? I usually use a commercial cleaner, and this is very different. I need to know NOW, as I must return it to her today, and I’m

When trying to operate the dvd player it states no read disk when there is a disk in the player
ANSWER : Yes, the DVD player will start with “loading” while it tries to read the disc and figure out what kind of disc it is.

The new-er players will read all sorts of discs, but I have an older one that will only read DVD and MP3 discs.

Any DVD player should be able to load and play an original DVD, but not all will comply if it is a backup copy of your DVD.

If your player refuses to recognize the original DVD, it’s time to get rid of it. The cost of repairing it will exceede the cost of a new one.

I have a Hoover SteamVac F5914-900 SpinScrub… The last time I used the hand tool attachment, it worked fine. Just tried to use it again, and now I only drips of water will come out of the hand sprayer, if that. I have tried prepping it for up to 15 seconds like the manual says… no luck with that. Also it is making a big puddle on the floor, probably because the brushes on the main unit keep spinning when I am trying to use the hand tool which I dont think they are supposed to do? Can a
ANSWER : The brushes can be turned off on most of them via a switch on the hood. There shouldn’t be water coming out onto the floor unless you are pulling the trigger at that top. You probably broke this when attempting to use the tools.

We have a Bissell Proheat Cleanshot 2X Model 9500 Steam carpet cleaner. The first time we used it things were great. The second time we used it it left tracks in the carpet. We have no idea what caused this. We tried using the machine on an entirely different carpet and it did the same thing. After vacuuming the carpet about 10 or 12 times, the tracks are still embedded in the carpet – HELP!!!! We’re read and reread the manual and contacted customer service and received no help.
ANSWER : First things first. It’s only the second time you have used the machine, so it must be fairly new. If you have a receipt and the unit is less than a year old you should take it to an authorized Bissell repair center and have the machine inspected under warranty.
.
.Otherwise, The jets on this unit clog easily, there are two of them and you can locate them under the recovery tank towards the front of the machine, and blow them out with an air compressor. To prevent the jets from clogging in the future make sure to flush all shampoo out of the machine with clean water when done using it. That is most likely your problem.
.
.If it is leaving black streaks on your carpet it could be coming from a burnt belt or melted brushroller part, in which case inspect the belts and brushrollers and replace the damaged pieces.

.I hope this helped
