the switch on the battery-operated wall remote, the lights keep blinking until I let go. It used to work fine, and now it doesn’t. I’ve lost the intallation instructions, so I don’t know if there was a trouble-shooting section that covered the problem.

How to Identify and Fix Common Vacuum Problems ?

Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced Vacuum Technicians :

On/Off Button Switch + Dimmers: Press and hold the power button on the circle switch until the LED light turns red, then let go. The light indicator will blink blue once it is successfully reset.
3 To return to factory defaults Quickly press the ON button 3 times, then press the OFF button 3 times. The LED will flash ON/OFF 5 times when completed successfully.
Z-WAVE DEVICE NETWORK INSTRUCTIONS:

An Eaton Wiring Devices Z-Wave device has a blue LED, which will blink when the device is not included in a Z-Wave network. The LED stops blinking when the device is in a network.

Power your Smart Switch to any outlet; its LED will flash blue slowly and is ready to pair. If the LED is flashing blue rapidly, it is attempting to pair.
Check the Circuit Breaker; Shut Off Power

A switch circuit that doesn`t operate correctly may simply have a tripped breaker or blown fuse. Head to the electrical service panel and locate the breaker or fuse. If the breaker is tripped, reset it; or if the fuse is blown, replace it with an exact duplicate.

The light of your Wemo Light Switch should be blinking blue, indicating that it is ready to be set up.
Smart lighting with Z-Wave allows you to remotely control your lights, turn them on, turn them off, dim them, brighten, or change the colors of them from your couch while using your smartphone or when outside of the home.
Z Wave light switches replace your existing light switches and then allow you to remotely control your light switches from your phone or with your voice when connected to smart voice assistants like Alexa, Google Home or Siri.
Light flickering is often caused because of a poor connection between a light switch and a bulb. To determine whether this is the issue you`re dealing with, simply wiggle the light switch. You can also try turning the switch on and off to see if the problem is fixed. If it is, you should consider replacing the switch.
It could be a loose connection in just that circuit, or the circuit might be overloaded. If the lights are flickering throughout your house, you could have a more serious issue with all of the wiring. It could be an issue with the electrical panel or the main connections to your home.
If the bulb or plug light doesn`t blink, it means you need to factory reset each bulb or plug manually. Note that the reset sequence is different depending on your device`s firmware version.
To begin with, make sure that your LED light is plugged into an outlet. Next, press and hold the button on top of the power cord for at least 10 seconds. After this time has elapsed, release the button and wait approximately one minute for it to turn off automatically before unplugging it from its outlet.
If your smart light bulb isn`t working, or Alexa can`t discover it, reset your device. To reset your smart light bulb: Go to the manufacturer`s companion app or website to follow instructions specific to your device. Reconnect your smart home device to Alexa in the Alexa app.
Press and hold the power button for at least 12 seconds to turn the console completely off. Then press the power button again to turn the console on. * If the above method fixes the problem, it`s likely that your console was frozen with the screen turned off.
Some signs of a bad light switch are clear. For instance, if there is an audible snap, crackle, or pop when you flip the switch, it`s pretty obvious the switch is defective and it`s time to replace it with a new one.
A blue flashing light warns you of accidents or situations such as a fire run. Any driver should allow vehicles with blue flashing lights to pass through, as this may indicate an emergency, vehicle escort or a platoon.
A dimmer switch controls a light`s intensity. You can usually replace any single-pole switch with a dimmer. However, for a fan or fluorescent light, you should buy a special switch rated to control those devices.
The sensor uses a photodetector, which converts light in the wavelengths into an electrical current. A detectable difference triggers the minicomputer housed in the detector to activate the switch. To prevent nuisance switching, the computer ignores slow changes in room temperature due to sunlight.
Z-wave switches are one you can control your home lighting from your smart phone, Alexa, or Z-wave controller interface. The configuration options for your lighting are endless.
Z-Wave is based on a mesh network topology. This means each (non-battery) device installed in the network becomes a signal repeater. As a result, the more devices you have in your home, the stronger the network becomes.
Do I need a hub? Yes – to get the most out of your Z-Wave device, a Z-Wave Certified hub is required to set schedules and control remotely away from the home, which a handheld Z-Wave controller cannot do.
If you find that your light switch toggle starts behaving differently than usual (i.e. becoming stiffer than usual or losing its “snap”) it`s a good sign that the switch mechanism is worn and should be replaced immediately by a qualified electrician.
How many devices (nodes) can be included in a Z-Wave network? A Z-Wave network can handle a maximum of 232 devices (nodes), including the primary controller.

We have a dyson dc 07 animal the machine was working fine then switched off after returning to the machine minutes later it wouldnt switch on, i removed on off switch cover and used a short piece of wire across the brown wires flicked the wall switch and it worked, aha i thought faulty switch aquired a new one to no avail and now even the short piece of wire trick doesnt work, has the motor died do you think, it wasnt over heating or making strange noises prior to refusing to work
ANSWER : It could be the motor. I’m having to replace the brushes on my DC 05. It appears that you can only get brushes for the YDK motors in the DYSON, not the Panasonic motor. Which might be saying something about the YDK motors. What happens is that the carbon brushes wear down which is normal. However, the contact wire from the brush to its connector is set so that when the brush wears down, the wire is short enough to stop the spring etc from damaging the commutator. The end result is that you get an intermittent operation of the motor before it finally dies.
.I believe all the DYSONs come with the option of both motors and you cannot really tell which motor you have until you take the thing to bits. You also cannot change motors without changing various other parts on the hoover. On my DC 05 the writing on the YDK motor tells you which one it is.
.This website www. tasweb.org ,select the DC 05 option and scroll down tells you how to take the thing to bits. A search on google etc for your DC 07 may give similar results. Best of luck!

I have a Roomba 560 (it’s still in warranty !!) and, after my summer vacation, it has a problem.
When I’m charging Roomba, the orange light blinks (and this is normal!) but this orange blinking continues forever…. the light doesn’t change to green.
If I detach Roomba from the charger, the light become green and it works normally until the light changes to red and I have to charge it again.

WHY, DURING THE CHARGING PHASE, THE LIGHT DOESN’T CHANGE FROM ORANGE-BLINKING TO GREEN?

HAVE I

ANSWER : The problem is not with the charger itself but it is with the battery inside the Roomba. It sunds like one or more of the cells has gone bad so its not holding the same charge as it did. I would recomend sending it in while the warranty is still valid so they will replace it. Your charger and the Roomba itself should be fine.

A few tips to keep the battery working longer:
Only charge the battery when it is drained all the way to zero. It will help keep the battery active.

Only charge the battery until it is full and then disconect it from the power source. It will keep it active longer plus it will help keep your electric bill down.

I have only had my shark steam mop for about a month and only used it twice. I tried to use it yesterday and it would not work. The green light came on and it worked for maybe ten seconds, then it completely shut off. I tried switching outlets and draining the water but nothing worked. It still doesn’t work today either. What do you think is wrong? Does this product have a warranty?
ANSWER : Yes has warranty call Shark/europro.

I have a Casa Blanca Intelitouch ceiling fan.
Panama5
12004T model no.??
serial no.: AU16550
A casa blanca tri-switch on the wall: lights-fan-power

When I turn it on, the lights and fan work fine.
After a period of time, the lights go off by themselves.
I don’t remember the fan ever going off by itself, only the lights.

ANSWER : The light are going off only because after a period of time the circuit lets off the trigger on the switching thyristor. So the fault is within the control box of the unit which must be taken out to confirm.
.Now attempt to do the job only if your are competent with high voltage circuits as the circuit must be checked before and after the lights switch off.
.It is also possible that the switching device the thyristor may be on dry soldering joint. So with the mains power off( or the power disconnected to the unit) have yourself insulated , use a soldering iron to touch up all the joints.
.Failure of capacitors in the trigger circuit is also possible to have this delay off.
.Trace the trigger voltage cut off at this point to come to the solution.( use a multimeter)

I have a Hampton Bay Midili fan which I just installed about a month ago and it was working fine. A few days ago when I flipped the switch on the light flickered on and off consistently until I turned the switch off. The remote also stopped working to control the fan and light. Since this model only can be controlled by the remote I am worried I will have to replace the remote already after only 1 month!
ANSWER : In many of these remote controlled lamps you cant use the new spiral light bulbs .. you can only use standard incandescent lights .. if thats not the trouble then you may indeed have a bad controller (in the fan) .. there is probably at least a 90 day warranty maybe as much as 3 years .. make sure the wire nut power connections are secure inside the fan.. if one of the the wires in the fan are not making contact then you will see a similar problem .. once in a while i have seen strong external RF signals interfere with the controller but thats rare and usually doesnt last long ..
.
.i would : 1. check all the connections .. 2. replace the light bulb to make sure its not flakey or the wrong type .. 3. try to get the fan replaced in warranty ..

Kirby Seems like you know alot about the Kirby. I know how to use my Sentria (unlike these other idiots) but I keep screwing up the shampoo tray assembly. The brush snaps into the tray just fine but the tray doesn’t really stick to the head. It detaches when pushing and pulling the unit. And who knows where that cover goes? It say ‘push here to open’
ANSWER : Machine will not come on

Electrolux Epic 6500SR Full Bag sensor working, Does not Reset properly
ANSWER : The problem was a sticking switch that was not being reset. The vacuum on/off switch mechanism is comprised of two switches. One is the main switch that turns the vacuum on and off. The second is a shut off switch that gets tripped when the full bag sensor is engaged. This second switch is supposed to get reset when you push the on/off switch on the outside of the machine. The full bag shutoff switch was stiff and it, therefore, was taking a couple of presses of the on/off switch to move the shutoff switch back into the running position.

Our kenmore progressive model #11634922 was working fine today. And then – it’s not. Plugged in – nothing is working on it. We let it cool down (though it didn’t seem hot). Still nothing – no light, no motor. Tried it in some other plugs that we know are functioning well – and still nothing. Any idea what might be wrong with it? It’s six years old but doesn’t get heavy use.

Thanks so much ~ Susan Golden

ANSWER : Hi, it could be a number of things, cord may be bad as well as a problem with the motor. There also is a fuse that could have blown. If you go to sears.com, click on parts, put in your model number, when the page loads, click on the first link and you will have a parts list, and scroll down there will be a parts break-down picture that you can look at. You can also order parts thru the Sears website.
