How to Identify and Fix Common Vacuum Problems ?
Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced Vacuum Technicians :
Looped stitches are usually caused by improper tension. If the loop is on the upper side, it may be corrected by loosening the top tension or by tightening the lower tension. If the loop is on the under side, it is usually best corrected by adjusting the upper tension.
If the top thread is not reaching the bobbin, the threads will not lock properly, resulting in a skipped stitch. Re-thread your machine, both top and bobbin threads, and test. If your machine is still skipping stitches, there may be an issue with the timing, which will require expert repairs.
A dull, bent or loose needle can cause the machine to skip stitches. This problem can also be caused by the wrong size needle or a machine that is not properly threaded. Also be sure the bobbin case is fully inserted. Sometimes these conditions will cause the needle to break.
A: Looping on the underside, or back of the fabric, means the top tension is too loose compared to the bobbin tension, so the bobbin thread is pulling too much top thread underneath. By tightening the top tension, the loops will stop, but the added tension may cause breakage, especially with sensitive threads.
Cause: The tension of the upper thread is too tight or the tension of the lower thread is too weak. Solution: Loosen the tension of the upper thread or tighten the tension of the lower thread, until the tensions of both threads are correctly balanced.
This indicates that the tension is too loose on both the bobbin and needle thread, the machine has not been threaded correctly, or the thread has not been placed properly between the tension mechanism.
PFAFF (German: PFAFF Industriesysteme und Maschinen AG, PFAFF Industrial) is a German manufacturer of sewing machines and is now owned by the SGSB Co.
The dial settings run from 0 to 9, so 4.5 is generally the `default` position for normal straight-stitch sewing. This should be suitable for most fabrics. If you are doing a zig-zag stitch, or another stitch that has width, then you may find that the bobbin thread is pulled through to the top.
If your sewing machine tension dial isn`t working, the most likely problem is that the tension disks are clogged up and need to be cleaned. After you take a pipe cleaner or a small brush and clean out the tension disks, clean the bobbin case as well to make sure that lint didn`t fall down in there.
The most common cause of bird`s nests is that your bobbin thread has not been pulled up before starting sewing. It`s not enough to have the bobbin thread loose behind your fabric, when starting sewing. Your bobbin thread needs to be under tension too.

I have a Pfaff 7570 … having a problem with the upper thread making a small loop just above the fabric by the eye of the needle, just before the tip of the needle is piercing the fabric, the stitches that produced are properly formed with the right tension, but the loops get in the way sometimes and I know it never used to do this before.

The last time I sewed with my Necchi the tension was fine. Today when I threaded my needle, the thread felt tight in the upper tension dial. I tried re-threading the machine several times, but it didn’t help. Now the parts of the tension dial are all loose and wobbbly and I have no upper tension. Doesn’t matter what the dial is set on. The tension dial appears to be broken, but I don’t know how that could have happend since I store it in a case.
This was my grandmothers machine and when she passed there was no owners manual so I am not sure how to use the settings on it or oil it properly. I so want to use it cause it was hers but don’t want to mess up the machine. She never even got a chance to use it before she passed away. I just have no owners manual. I know how to use sewing machines but this one is older and I don’t want to mess it up.

I just had this machine delivered yesterday (Janome Magnolia 7330). When I sew a straight seam (all I’ve tried so far) I get loops at the underside of the fabric. I adjusted the upper thread tension, but that did not help. In fact the loops got larger as I increased the tension. My thought is that I don’t have the machine threaded correctly. Thanks!
ANSWER : Your problem is in the tension adjustment. also check the stitch lengths.

consistent with motor noise.
2d: In order to check threading had to manually PULL bobbin case toward me or it was UNDER needle plate. Cleaned a fair amount of dust out. Reinstalled bobbin, etc., per manual, rethreaded.

ANSWER : Have you checked your needle. it could probably be bent somehow. you should replace it first because that also can confuse the sensor causing that error.

When I was putting my new rug shampooer together and the directions said to press the trigger and the clean surge button until I heard a snap, I did just that many times and never did hear a snap so I thought it had likely happened and I didn’t hear it so I proceeded to fill the solution tank and get busy but no solution came out so I used the clean surge button instead and got the job done (I think). Can I continue to use it that way or is there a way I can get it to snap and use it the way it

I purchased my Bissel PowerSteamer Clearview a few years or so ago, and cannot find where I filed the manuals. If I find the actual seriel number on the Bissel PowerSteamer Clearview, Is there a way that I can purchase another manual? I really do not have any problem with my Bissel, but being I am 75 years of age and do not use it myself anymore, I want to give it to a daughter of mine (but I would like to have the manuals that go with it to give to her also).
ANSWER : No need my friend. Go here. All documentation is here…and….it’s free! Hope this helps : )
