If your Roomba® i Series Robot Vacuum is not turning on or is not able to charge, rebooting your robot tends to solve most related issues. To reboot your Roomba: Press and hold the CLEAN button for 20 seconds. After you release the button, the light ring will show a white clockwise swirl while it reboots.
The brush roll or its bearings may be clogged with hair, threads or dirt. Make sure they are clean and the roll spins. The belt may also have slipped because it was loose. Check the fit of the new belt when it is installed.
Besides regularly cleaning the brushes on your Roomba, you`ll also need to replace them from time to time. iRobot recommends replacing the two main brushes every six to twelve months.

It`s the grit/dirt being rubbed against the floor by the brushes that can scratch, rather than the brushes themselves which are soft. Running the Roomba without brushes will do nothing, it`s more a sweeper than a vacuum… but if he runs it daily the prevent grit buildup he`ll have better results.

(1) When the battery level is low, DEEBOT will automatically switch to Returning to the Charging Dock mode. In Returning to the Charging Dock mode, the side brush does not rotate. DEEBOT can clean as normal after recharging.
Why does a Roomba go in circles? It`s usually a problem with sensors or with mechanical movement. While spinning in circles may look alarming, it`s rarely a permanent problem, although your robovac definitely needs some care before it`s ready to resume duty again.

Roomba Discovery My Roomba turns on and moves but the brushes won’t turn. Someone told me that I had forgotten to put in the yellow and black end bearings, but I did. Help, I miss my Roomba
I have a Roomba 530, I have had it for 2 weeks and really loved it. I have followed all the cleaning instructions etc.. Then the Roomba wanted it’s brushes cleaning “please clean Roombas brushes” So thinking that something was stuck I removed and cleaned the brushes, (yellow tabs on and in place by the way)
ANSWER : I read somewhere that you need to clear the software in case there is a glitch. To do this, take the battery out and then, simultaneously hold down the “spot” and “clean” buttons for 30 seconds. Replace battery. This has worked for my Discovery model.

I have a roomba 530 and the brushes don’t spin what is the problem i took it all part and cleaned all the hair and dirt and it still won’t turn?
ANSWER : The cleaning head module electronics are probably burnt out, this is not terribly uncommon. Your best bet is to contact Salton and purchase a 530 replenishment kit (http://www.salton.com.au/products/146) and replace the entire cleaning head module.

I have a DC07 and the brush wasn’t rotating and I had no suction at the brush but perfect suction through the hose. I noticed a large build up of dog hair around the brush so I took off the cover plate and removed all the hair, cleaned inside the floor/brush housing and cleaned out the hose. I also cleaned the filter and removed the other air access cover and made sure that they were clear. I put everything back and the brush still doesn’t turn and there is still no suction through the bottom

My hoover spin scrub brushes stopped spinning and i have cleaned intake filter and tried to turn the thing that spins it…when brushes are off the hole turns then as soon as i connect brushes the brushes will not turn what else can i do!!???
ANSWER :
This video may help you

I have a roomba 530 pet series. It appears that the brushes aren’t turning. They are free of dirt and debris and move easily when manually turned. But, You can tell there may not be a motor turning, because the roomba is more quiet than normal when you turn it on. Also, the hair just collects along the bottom of the brush and doesn’t get pushed into the bin.
ANSWER : The belt either broke or has come off the track…. this should be easily accessable from the underside of vaccuum

Bissell 8920 proheat x2 brushes not turning i only noticed this after i finished cleaning.. or kinda cleaning because of the brushes ntot turning.. water comes out fine suction is fine but its not scrubbing so its not as clean as it could be. manual part works well water coming out hot. I did take it apart and cleaned off all the hairs in hopes maybe that was it.. put it together still nothing.. No idea how the belts should look onit and i cant find a picture or a video showing how belts look o
ANSWER : Hello,
.
.Here’s a link to a very helpful video that shows you step by step on how to access and replace the belt on your machine. When the brushes stop spinning, but the rest of the machine works fine, this is a tell-tale sign that your belt has gone bad.

Roomba keeps saying clean brushes yet are clean!
ANSWER : Make sure you take off the little cap at the end (the one that spins — just grab it and pull it straight off) and clean under it too. The rest of the brush may look perfectly clean but what happens is that hair gets stuck under spinning cap and, like a slowly growing washer, it pushes the whole brush toward the gear box. When it gets pushed over enough, the large yellow ring starts to rub against the side of the brush deck making it harder for the motor to turn the brush and you get that “remove and clean brushes” message.

Electrolux vacuum brush not turning problem:

was vacuuming and rug got caught auto shut off kicked off power to brush. instead of hitting red button to restart brush I disconnected brush to vacuum some hair in Conner. after i reconnected the brush and hit the red button but no power to brush. Light won’t even switch on. Hope you can help

ANSWER : Under the vacuum, there is a guard..remove the guard , either by 2 screws or by 2 clips..there is a belt under the guard..that is connected to the brush..the belt need to be replaced.
