How to Identify and Fix Common Vacuum Problems ?

Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced Vacuum Technicians :

Check the active wand, the flexible hose, filter bag and micro-filters, and any on-board attachments that may be clogged. Also remove the brush roller to check for blockages. Inspect the orange trap door on the underside of the power head and remove any debris or blockages.
After years of use, your brush roller may exhibit very little visible wear so gives the impression it is still fit for service. However, don`t be fooled by this (as many people are). The bristles become soft with time with the result that the machine becomes very heavy to push around when in use.
Dyson no longer develops mains-powered vacuums. Sebo does. Sebo vacuums are, without doubt, more reliable and longer-lasting than Dyson. Sebo has a five-year guarantee; Dyson cordless machines have a two-year guarantee.
If you are lucky enough to own a SEBO vacuum, you are guaranteed a life span of at least 15 years thanks to the hard work of German engineers. Nonetheless, learning some basic maintenance tips and tricks wouldn`t hurt the longevity of your vacuum. In fact, it may lengthen the total life expectancy upwards of 20 years!
To fix a clog in the hose, feed one end into a garbage bag, and poke the other end with the back of a mop pole, until you push the clog material out into the garbage bag. To fix a clog in the vacuum, whether it is a canister or bag, use your finger to feel for a clog. Pull as much of it out as you can and discard.
Low suction or poor pick-up may be due to a clog in the vacuum cleaner. If you notice a change in the sound of the motor or a reduction in the spinning action, check for clogs. First, remove the Easy Empty dirt tank from the vacuum and discard all dirt and debris.
Sebo vacuum cleaners blow away cheaper brands when it comes to suction power and cleaning ability. This makes them especially valuable to people who have pets as a Sebo vacuum will easily clean up any amount of hair from your floors, and with their superior filtration and bags, will keep your air clean while doing so.
One of the easiest ways to increase vacuum cleaner suction is to empty the dust bag or container. Dust containers need to have enough space for airflow, otherwise, they could get clogged and have less suction power. Regularly check your dust compartment and empty or change it when it`s already 70-80% full.
SEBO produces its products in Germany and is known for manufacturing the best pet vacuum cleaners on the market. Miele sells a more extensive range of appliances as well as vacuum cleaners. There are parallels and variations in the product selection of the two firms. For instance, both brands sell only bagged vacuums.
02% difference gives the SEBO slightly better filtration than the Miele. Miele canisters have six suction control settings labeled with pictographs that denote quiet operation, carpet, bare floor, area rug, drapes, and upholstery. SEBO vacuums do not come with these comprehensive settings.
If all you hear from the vacuum unit is a click at the when you try to start the vacuum motor from inside the house, then the motor in the unit is dead and has to be replaced. A strong odor from the shellac, which coats the copper coil windings, is an indicator that the motor is about to or has burnt out.
The most common cause of loss of suction is that the filters have become blocked. They may require cleaning or replacing. Another cause could be that the vacuum cleaner hose is blocked.
SEBO vacuum filters should be changed after every 10 to 20 bags, depending upon use time & the type of debris material collected by the vacuum. However please trust your visual inspection, if you see that a filter is excessively dirty or the bags appears to be quite full, do not hesitate to change it.
S-Class filtration, by definition, captures 99.9% of all particles down to 0.3 microns, while the U.S. HEPA filtration captures 99.97% of all particles down to 0.3 microns. As far as actual differences in the filter media and mechanism of filtration, HEPA filters rely upon a very tightly constructed mesh of fibers.
The SEBO is more expensive, heavier, and has a smaller dust bin capacity (by almost 2 liters). Both vacuums are relatively heavy, but Dyson is saved by the price, performance, and thorough filters. The SEBO has 9ft more cord, but little else to compete with Dyson`s model.
Again, due to the small particle size of baking soda or freshener product, these can clog the pores of your vacuum`s bag or HEPA filter. Or it can “cement” debris into the cyclones of your bagless vac! This can drastically reduce suction resulting in poor cleaning performance and cause clogs to form.
Your filters get clogged with bacteria, dust, smoke, mold, and other particles. These can all affect the air quality in your home as well as the performance of your vacuum`s cleaning abilities, if the filter is clogged you will find the suction and general performance of your vacuum will be minimized.
WORLD`S BEST VACUUM FOR A CLEAN AND HEALTHY HOME

In 1978, two engineers founded SEBO in Velbert, Germany. Since then, SEBO has become the most important manufacturer of high-quality, commercial vacuum cleaners in the world, with sales in Europe, Asia, Africa, and North America.

So, the usual areas that cause suction loss include the wrong height setting, stuck rollers, a faulty gasket, a broken vacuum belt, a filled bag, or a clogged hose.
There can be a variety of reasons why your vacuum cleaner has low suction. It could be clogged filters, a dirty bag or container, or an obstruction in the hose. Check all these areas and replace any parts that need it to restore full suction power.
The two main indicators to determine vacuum power performance are water lift and airflow. The water lift is measured in mmH2O, mbar or kPa. It represents the suction force and is the reference parameter for vacuuming liquids and heavy materials. The airflow is measured in m3/h or in l/s.
Bosch and Miele offer similar cutting-edge dishwashing technologies, but Bosch provides a more affordable solution. Both brands promise a decade or more years of reliable performance with sensor wash technology, flexible loading options, and high-quality materials for long-term use.
SEBO is the brand name of vacuum cleaners made by Stein & Co GmbH, a company based in the German town of Velbert.
Made In Germany, SEBO vacuum cleaners are Carpet Manufacturer recommended for the correct care and maintenance of soft floor products.

VACUUM REPAIR I have a Hoover Savvy upright, windtunnel, bag/bagless vacuum (model U8150-900). The Handle Release Foot Pedal – Part #38434026 broke soon after purchase but I finally found a source to replace this item. The problem is that now that I have the repair part I cannot figure out how to remove the old pedal and install the new one. The housing appears to be one piece of solid plastic. Any ideas, PLEASE! Peter
ANSWER : There are 2 tabs that stick out on the release, they fit in slots, so from the top look down and you can see them, using a flatblade screwdriver that will fit in there, push the side in to release it, which isn’t easy, but it can be done. When you get the old one out, then the new one, push down on it until it locks into place.
