My model F5906-900 — problem is the brushes have stoped working… I pulled the brush assembly out by holding the two tabs, and all seems clean and the brush assembly rotates easly… onced the brush assembly is removed. What I did notice is the female driver slot (found in the main assembly unit) that drives the brushes seems stuck..Is that normal when the machine is not hooked up to power? How can I get the brushed going??? it is a good machine, but the brush options is important too it’s ab
ANSWER : (1) Assure the Brush Control on the hood is NOT set to the OFF position.
.(2) Remove the brush assembly by pulling/unlatching it from base on each side.
.(3) Does one of the brushes have the drive pin present? It should be about ¼ inch square, and two inches long. It attaches the brushes to the drive mechanism.
.(4) Remove and clean the intake filter. One the base of the cleaner, behind the brushes, squeeze the two red abs together and pull the panel down to access the screen. Clean the hair/debris off the screen and reassemble.

My Sentria always runs in the drive mode and it is so fast it seems out of control. If I push the neutral pedal it stays in drive. I can push it the regular way when it is turned off, whether the pedal is in the drive position or neutral.
ANSWER : I sold vacuums for almost 20 yrs and the Kirby gets lots of complaints. The transmission that it has in it breaks as your has and they are costly.The best thing to do would be to take the maching to the local vacuum store(eg. sewing and vacuum are often in the same store).Bring it to a used vac store and they all repair kirby and thay can give you the best advice. I dont recommend going to kirby as thay will spend four hours at your house trying to sell you a newer model and they have not changed enough to get another one in hopes it will be betrter. We have a Hoover upright vacuum cleaner, model Core 7. There is a switch that turns on and off the brush drive. This operates via a cam with a bearing putting pressure on the final drive belt to engage the brush head.

My brush head is not turning and with the lever set to engage the drive there is still considerable slack in the final drive belt.

There appears to be only a bearing deflecting the belt, should there be a pully or other device mounted on this bearing? There is so much slack a

ANSWER : Yes, there should have been a white plastic sprocket on top of the bearing – in its channel the belt would sit. Unfortunately no parts are available for this unit that can be bought retail – only available by order to dealer repair shops....
Unfortunately to fix it you must send it to one and that would be more expensive than a new one. Just junk this chinese POS and buy another chinese POS.
