How to Identify and Fix Common Vacuum Problems ?

Vacuum Water

Hold it in place until the water under and around it is depleted. Progressively move the nozzle to a new section until all of the water is gone. Turn on the vacuum and place the nozzle on top of the water. Wet/dry vacuums can vacuum up large quantities of standing water very quickly.

You`ll need it—the filter prevents dust from blowing out of the top while you`re cleaning. For wet surfaces, however, you`ll need to remove the filter entirely. Liquids will damage filters, and you could even potentially ruin your vacuum if you suck up water before removing the filter.
With proper handling and maintenance, wet/dry vacuum cleaners efficiently vacuum up dry dust, liquids, small debris and other refuse. The vacuum cleaner`s special features: They are operated without any bags, so even wet dirt can be vacuumed up easily.
Wet/Dry Vacuum

Use the wet vac to empty the water from the bowl so it doesn`t overflow or splash out. Wrap an old towel or rag around the vacuum hose, and place it up against the toilet drain like a plunger. Apply pressure to the vacuum hose to create the tightest seal that you can.

Loose connections will cause your vacuum cleaner to lose suction. Make sure that the dust container, the hose, the tube and the brush are all attached properly. If the problem continues, your vacuum cleaner might have a technical problem. If you suspect this to be the case, contact an authorised service agent.
If you own a bagless vacuum, do not put a wet filter back in the machine. This will hurt the motor, but even worse, it can cause mold to grow. A warm, damp, dirty place is the perfect combination to grow mold. Then when you turn the vacuum on it blows the mold around your house.
The wet and dry vacuum cleaner is ideal for cleaning carpets, which is always a hassle. The vacuum cleaner does a very good job of cleaning the carpet and removing dust, pet hair, and debris to prevent indoor air pollution.
A senior test project leader stated that one of his top tips for lengthening a vacuum`s lifespan is “Don`t let the bag or bin get filled to the brim, which can clog the machine.” In addition to the extra work, dust escaping from a reused bag tends to go right back into the motor, causing damage.
As a rule, most of the smaller canister or shop-type vacs use high-speed vacuum producers. These tend to run at a very high rpm, which can reduce the vacuum`s lifespan to as little as 800 hours — or about 18 months, assuming you use your vacuum for about three hours each day.
Dust before vacuuming

We recommend dusting before vacuuming, this is because dust particles usually get moved around the room when you dust, meaning all your hard work will go to waste. A top tip is to wait at least 2 hours after dusting to get the vacuum out.

Most vacuum makers recommend cleaning or replacing filters at set intervals—and those intervals vary wildly. Tineco, for example, recommends cleaning the filters on its stick vacuums after every few uses, while Miele says you need to change its vacuum filters only after every fourth bag change.
Wet and Dry Vacuum Cleaners are powerful machines which, as the name suggests, can be used to vacuum up both liquids and solids. A little sturdier than your average vacuum cleaner, Wet/Dry machines can be used for a broader range of tasks, both inside and outside your home.
Vacuum toilets are flush toilets that use suction for the removal of faeces and urine resulting in a minimal requirement of water (0.5 to 1.5 litres).
Clog located in the vacuum hose

Turn the unit on and feel the suction at the end of the hose handle. If there is no or low suction, then the clog is in the hose. You can remove the clog by running a long, stiff object through the hose, such as a butter knife, starting at the wall end.

So, the usual areas that cause suction loss include the wrong height setting, stuck rollers, a faulty gasket, a broken vacuum belt, a filled bag, or a clogged hose.
Most manufacturers recommend you change your filter on average every 3-6 months. However, it is recommended to change your filter even earlier depending on usage and allergy care. Most newer vacuum models use more than one filter. Please refer to your manufacturer manual for further assistance on locating your filter.
G101 is a great heavy duty cleaner and works well through the wet vac but the smell isnt taht appealing afterwards so brisk would be my choice. You can use meguiars detailer range apc but it does foam a touch on the extreme side, works almost like brisk as it also has optical brightners.
Suction pressure should be kept at less than 200 mmHg in adults. It should be set at 80 mmHg to 120 mmHg in neonates. [3] The catheter size used for suction should be less than 50% of the internal diameter of the endotracheal tube.
The normal range of the suction pressure is 0.8–1.2 MPa. If the suction pressure is greater than 1.2 MPa, connect a rubber hose for the pressure gauge to the gas pipe needle valve for the outdoor unit, and rotate open the pressure gauge to slowly release refrigerant.
With high suction pressure, your AC system may experience one or more problems. Poor cooling is probably the most common symptom. High suction pressure will restrict your AC system`s ability to cool your home. The condenser coil may struggle to release heat stored within the refrigerant.
“You don`t need a HEPA filter to stop dust mite, and pollen particles, as they are relatively huge. Any good vacuum cleaner should stop cat hair and dander.” Animal hair will be picked up by conventional vacuums, even without a HEPA filter.
After rinsing, you will want to lightly shake the excess water out of your filter to allow it to dry quicker. While you can proceed to the next step after allowing the filter to dry for 30 minutes to an hour, for optimal results you should let your filter dry overnight if possible.
Rinse the filter

Any fine dust remaining in the filter can usually be removed with a gentle rinse under a cold tap – hold the filter under the running water until the water runs clear. You shouldn`t need to use any detergent – just water.

.1. When picking up small amounts of liquid

.3. After using the vac to pick up liquids,
.the filter must be dried to reduce the
.risk of possible mildew and damage to
.the filter.
.4. When the liquid in the drum reaches a
.predetermined level, the float mechanism
.will rise automatically to cut off

Turbine Hi I found out through your site that my turbin is bad on my steam vac and I found some information as well on how to disasemble the steam vac to get to the turbine but still was wondering if there were some more detailed instructions on how to remove the turbin. I am a sigle mom and doing the work on the steam vac myself and need a little more detailed instructions. Please help asap and have a bless day.
ANSWER : There are some screws on the bottom that have to come out so you can remove the top housing. Take the brush block out, there are 2 screws above where it sits. The turbine sits near the front, and in the mid section, 2 screws on the front of it and 2 long screws from underneath, if you already haven’t removed them. Unhook the hoses to it thenpick it out and replace with the new one. ( Some models near the back of the housing, is a catch on each side that you have to unhook to release the top).
