Shark Pocket will not make steam
Check that your water tank is full, if you find it is empty, add water. Also check that the tank is free of any cracks or holes that could cause water to leak, and that the tank is properly seated in the device`s housing.
First, check to make sure the unit is plugged in and is in a working outlet. Next, check to make sure there is water in the tank. It is very important to make sure you are ONLY using water to fill the tank. Other solutions may cause breakdown of the gasket and/or other parts of the machine.
Once you plug it in, it starts to heat up the water. To activate the steam, you have to pump the handle up and down. We usually started mopping instead of doing the 10 to 15 pumps because with your natural mopping motion you will pump the Shark Steam Mop each time you go forward.
Using the Shark Steam Mop is pretty straightforward. First, attach the mop pad to the mophead, then fill the reservoir with water using the filling flask. Once the steam mop is plugged in, it takes about 20 seconds for the steam to build up, and you`ll hear the mop hissing.
After you let your steam mop`s tank soak, plug it in, turn it on, and give it time to get hot. Once it builds up enough steam, pull the trigger and allow the device to spray with the vinegar in the tank. As the steam shoots out, it should help clear out a blocked nozzle while also removing any other buildup inside.
To prolong the life of your steam mop, we recommend using distilled water in the tank. Make sure you only add water to the tank β chemicals or cleaning solutions (including vinegar) may damage the steam mop and could be unsafe.
Not Plugged In You will notice a blinking blue light on the front of the device when plugged in correctly. If the light fails to come on then try to plug into a different outlet.

Check you are using carpet mode. If you have the settings on floor mode, then the brush roll will not spin. If the setting is on carpet mode, then the brush will turn.

Most steam cleaners are designed to be used without detergent, so stick to water only with these. Some models, on the other hand, can be used with detergent β follow the manufacturer`s instructions.
With the exception of a few models that have dual functions, steam mops are typically designed to be used with water and nothing else. The steam alone does a great job of cleaning the floor.
It`s imperative that you vacuum the floor before steaming. You could alternatively sweep if you don`t have a vacuum. But good suction power will pull lint, dust, and other surface debris from the cracks, preventing them from dirtying the mop pad. Once vacuumed, your floor is ready to steam mop.
